Well this has the possibility of cheering me up.

My biggest concern going into this season was the psychology of this group and my concern didn’t diminish after that. It really is hard to believe after having such forward disconnect last year that after having months to work on it it’s still a massive issue. It’s also hard to believe Stafford is still our forward coach. A few players can hold their heads up after that and a couple of them were first gamers. Overall that was putrid and just bloody hard to watch.

Wow, this is everything that was bad about our game last year.

Yep all good, understand your view and agree Rivers is important for the transition. I guess I look at it that Judd, Bowey, Salem and Howes could hopefully take on more down back if Rivers was up the ground more.

Do you not think he has the endurance for the wing? I think our wings are areas where we can get significant improvement from last years team. I personally think we have a few players who could improve us there with Rivers being one.

I know teams rarely start as they are named but love seeing Rivers named on the wing. I hope he gets a solid run there this year.

I will be very interested / nervous who we play on JUH in round 1.

Practice match and all but the Bont is a bloody good player. I could handle Hawthorn being this [censored] for the whole year.

I love sticking the boots into the AFL as much as anyone but after the first match of this season it will be two out of the last three seasons that hasn’t kicked off with Carlton and Richmond. And we will have been in two of those three games.

Right now I have very little confidence in the season coming up. I am hoping it’s more to do with the uncertainty over my favourite player of all time but there just seems to be so many little things not going right. I also don’t think our list management has done a great job at improving our weaknesses in the last two years. I know it was very much a scratch match on the weekend but for me there was very little to get excited about. I hope our next practice match we show something different. I think we have improvement in us but I also think some other clubs have a large amount of improvement in them. Without seeing everyone play scratch and practice matches if I have to give an answer right now, I think we miss finals this year. I think where in for a tough year. Demonland on the other hand I think is in for a record breaking year.

Just watching some of it on Fox now, so far the only thing I have noticed is how bad the commentators are.

I think Fox has done a very good job with some of the commentators they have added. Agree Isa Guha, Harsha Bhogle and Michael Vaughan are amongst the best in the world. I am not so big about Gilchrist and Mel Jones but I also like Ian Smith and thought Wasim Akram was also pretty good.

Bloody hell Roost it far has your account been hacked? Last year from memory the only game you were worried about was Hawthorn. But I am actually feeling very similar to you about this year. My biggest concern is the psychology of our players but there are plenty of other issues to worry about too.
