  1. Great cover in most positions. very happy Weid signed. Brown/TMac/Weid all to work their backsides off all summer knowing 3 doesn’t go into 2 - perfect!! Only change I have to your team is Tomlinson plays if he is fit - not sure how he fits in, but he just plays. Didn’t loose a one on one contest for the games he played this year.
  2. Agree with all. But Dunstan doesn’t need to be best 22 for the pick-up to be a win. In all likelihood we won’t have the same luck with injuries next year - and Dunstan be a critical depth player to replace injured mids, and ensure we don’t need to change our game plan too much when we cop an injury or two. good to get Jordon, Sparrow, Harmes, Viney fighting a bit harder for their spots, and also be nice to have the luxury of giving Clarry & Norm a rest from time to time.
  3. Agree with this. If we didn’t dominate the contested ball (particularly centre clearances) towards the end of 3rd qtr, dogs most likely would have had too big a lead going into three quarter time. but, the difference this year is we had the other required complimentary elements (2 way running, def structure, genuine wingers etc) to our contested strength vs 2018 when we didn’t.
  4. Anyone criticising our list management / draft strategy / trading has rocks in their head! Recent years efforts are nothing short of genius, and has won us a flag! Be grateful and have faith. look forward to seeing who we pick up with 17.
  5. Good call:- I forgot about Touk. Happy to sub him in for Danger. agree re Greene:- the commentators obsession with him can be hard to watch also. Maybe sub old mate Jesse Hogan in for Greene?
  6. My list (excluding Melb players due to bias:- koz, Trac, Oliver, Jacko, Gawn, Fritsch, Salem would all feature) 1. Bont (Class & match winner) 2. Liam Ryan (Excitement, weekly hangers) 3. Dusty (Don’t argue) 4. Nic Nat (Freakish ruck-taps) 5. Josh Kelly (Skill + ability to hit a target) 6. Buddy (The strut, and bombs from 60m) 7. C. Cameron (Speed, stupid celebrations) 8. Robbie Gray (Class/skill/match-winner) 9. Danger (Explosiveness) 10. Greene (Mad, head explosions)
  7. Yuck De Goey before Trac. SEN it’s time to move Dwayne on I think. Toby Greene at 2:- give it a spell. Stole Fritzal’s AA spot.
  8. Mauriesy, can’t recall which day it was in prelim week - but 100% he said it. When it was just him + Gerard. In fairness, he said it with a smile on his face.....ie friendly banter, rather than strong hate.
  9. So true. He said before the prelim “I hope the Dees beat Geelong, so we can watch them completely gas it in the Grand final” Bad luck Jase! And many more years of pain to come for you
  10. This disappoints me. please cheer up, and be grateful! we just won the flag!!
  11. In the first qtr when we easily got to a 21 point lead - I started worrying that the experience wouldn’t be as enjoyable if we cruise to a 80-100 point win without being challenged. got my wish 2nd qtr, with the tension of a close game. here’s hoping to being just as passionate a supporter in future years, but slightly more normal, now that the curse has been buried.
  12. I agree with the “1 goal away from breaking us theory”. Sure, we can claw back a 25 point deficit. But, decent chance dogs would have got a significant momentum injection if they kicked it rather than us.
  13. Ahhhh Chris Scott......”May and Lever will have to try and stop our guns” Then post match presser “ah look I don’t really want to talk right now” big lesson for you Chris - let the actions do the talking, and not the fake pre game words
  14. We could offer them an option to deal with us, if Jacko does decide to go home, at any time in the next 5 years
  15. Problem I see with this is Jacko's trade value will rise significantly in coming years......Obviously I want to keep him, but if he does want to go home, it be much better for us in a couple of years rather than now - in terms of what we could get back.
  16. agree with this Rob - but if we took our opportunities could have got a decent lead in first qtr. - be some important learnings from the 7 goal in 10 mins onslaught, and I would be highly surprised if we make the same mistakes again - Even though I agree cats weren’t fighting the game out as hard as possible, to come back from 44 points gives a team belief that can draw on in future weeks but your overall point is correct. Biggest concern for me would be the players taking too much comfort from a game, that most of the time they would have lost.
  17. Scott appears stressed out in recent interviews......this flows through to the players. goody on the other hand has been cool calm and collected, and saying all the right things....not whinging or complaining about anything, respecting the opponent, remaining humble and saying we are happy to play anywhere, anytime......calming influence and strong mindset for the players to follow!
  18. Basket case. Cerra - take $100k - 200k less a year to come to the Dees, and be a multiple premiership player.......will make up the dollars via being part of a dynasty.
  19. Us Melb supporters are so use to discussing potential trades rather than playing finals this time of year, that we have fallen into our usual habits. How we go Fri, and then hopefully in a fortnight, might also have an impact on players wanting to come to us.
  20. Or if Hibbo can hold him inside 50, are we content with Cameron getting possessions on the wings & flanks, where he will do less damage?
  21. Don’t mind this. Petty would easily hold Sav. And if Hibbo can hold Cameron, Lever is free to do his thing.
  22. This is true. maybe just give us the initials Dannyz? - we won’t tell a sole. If initials is pushing our luck, how about position on ground?
