  1. My Hawks mates don't want to win another game. What they do want is Jason Horne.
  2. In 2016 Beveridge defended the umpires after a game against Adelaide where they won the free kick tally 28-12, which included Troy Pannell awarding 17 to the Bulldogs and 1 to Adelaide. They have had a charmed run since about that time. The 2016 GF was also a magnificent display of umpiring.
  3. Pies have been magnificent since halfway through the third.
  4. #freekickbulldogs
  5. Not a terrible result.
  6. Brisbane City was High Risk for COVID until yesterday i think.
  7. Get [censored]. I'm in Brisbane that weekend and was going to the game. [censored] the AFL. Burgess be earning his $$$ getting everyone right for the Dogs.
  8. More third person reference required. Edited for accuracy.
  9. As a few of us suspected, the team had been doing a block of heavy training and our game style had changed to one to reflect lower energy levels. Now the tapering has begun, the energy is back and normal transmission has resumed. I predicted a 3 goal win yesterday morning. Was nice to have underestimated the margin. Opposition teams just cannot score multiple goals in a row against us. Port changed their approach in the third to use the corridor more but we shut that down pretty quick.
  10. Umps are [censored] disgraceful. It is cheating.
  11. Incorrect disposal = goal. OK then.
  12. I went to that game and somehow managed to forget it!!!
  13. I'm not saying the outcome of games directly, but certainly moments within. The 'rule of the week' impacts some teams more than others and has to have an impact on results. Team X might win by 8 points instead of 38. The even-upping of free kick counts late in games is another. I am pretty sure I have said about the manipulation after we have won, although I would not say we get the help a team like the Bulldogs gets, or the Eagles playing at home. 2016 Grand Final certainly had a smell about it. Umps refused to pay Sydney even obvious frees.
  14. Not saying rigged, but in all elite level sports there is at least an element of manipulation by officials, NBA referees betting on the points spread and using free throws to achieve it being a prime example. For years I have said the NRL decides the top 8 before the season and uses the refs to make sure of it, and the AFL in my view is heading down that path. Like it or not, it is sports entertainment these days and having top 2/4/8 up for grabs until Round 23 is good for ratings.
  15. I'm hoping for a 1.45 Saturday v GC. Will be there providing the Tasmanian Government removes all travel restrictions for Queensland before then.
  16. We did win in Canberra in Round 3. I think that counts.
  17. 3 goal win coming up. Nothing to fear.
  18. Would be taking 26 to an interstate game for sure, just in case of any last minute mishaps. One for each part of the ground.
  19. Surely we have to leave two forwards inside 50 when the ball is between the arcs, or the front edge of the centre square when in our D50?
  20. 2016 to 2019 Ben Brown's contested mark totals were 49, 43, 36, 35, which were ranked 5th, 7th, 12th, 15th in the league. Not sure he is not renowned for it based on that. Would also argue North's decline are reflected in the slight drop off in numbers.
  21. Yeah around the 50. Hard to tell watching on TV.
  22. Question for those at the game - did any of our forwards hold position? Or were they all up the ground most of the time?
  23. The discussion about the protected area 50s not being paid - of course the umpires pets the Bulldogs got at least one paid on Sunday.
  24. That sounds like the peak MFCSS scenario.
