  1. There was a fantastic double-page article/interview published in the Sunday Age on 21 July 2019 titled “The Ides of May.” Reading this at the time is what sold me on him. Idk how to find old articles such as this one but if anyone else does I highly recommend it. ❤️?

As we enjoy this period of success, a period of nine weeks that no one could have predicted at the beginning of the season , we should remember the past.

In particular, all those who have gone to the after life without seeing success. There are the older brigade that may have seen success pre-1965 but had to endure decades of failure and there are those poor souls born post 64 but who sadly passed on before 2021.

Remember them. Remember chance. There are those that are born, live and love at an opportune time and thousands of supporters that in footy terms were dealt a bad hand.

Every win in a surreal way, is a win for them. Here’s to patience, endurance, resilience and long life. Here’s hoping that we carry the eternal spirit of our friends and family who were Dees supporters.

If we are here today, we are lucky. If we can just enjoy the present and not worry about the future, then we should rejoice in seeing our mob rise from the ashes.

We are watching a collection of young stars developing into a formidable team. It is like the development of Norms boys in the 50s.

There is something special in the air.

    Go Dees you bloody beauties.

    Beautifully said. ❤️?

You two should be fined, let's say $3,000 or $2,000 with a guilty plea.

As to the incident itself, I've watched that clip 10 times and am still looking for the evidence of a crime. I assume there must be another angle that Michael Christian has seen which shows the incident more clearly.

I’m gonna appeal that. I’ll use the guy that represented Fritta. Should be all good. ?

I believe it’s not incompetence but maybe too much work for one person alone to tackle. Like he has to review in detail 9 games a weekend in minute detail and make decisions before Tuesday. Serious high profile incidents are  noted quickly and bought  to his attention. Others like the Langdon dumping appear on social media maybe a couple days after the incident. He needs some help.

I always thought going from a MRP to a MRO was a backwards step. Look at the history of autocracy. *cough* Kim Jong-Un *cough*

When we win a grand final, be it this year or next, the whole demonland community should meet to celebrate!

    Joking. Not joking

Logistically a nightmare. Aren’t we all spread far and wide? Even OS?

I just finished watching the replay and came to Demonland to see if it wasnt just me noticing BTs performance.
Im really struggling to understand how he gets away with it. Maybe he was sick and feeling flat? Or trying to be funny?

Or all of the above. I, too, fail to understand why they keep him in commentary. Surely there’s myriad ex-players who’d do a better job.

What a wonderful resource we have in Demonland!

I've been a Life Member ever since membership categories were introduced, and each season I try to toss in a few extra bucks to say thanks to Andy and the crew, who contribute their time, energy and 'hard-earned' to provide an outstanding service for us long suffering Demons fans.

Given that I'm in such a good frame of mind about 9 zip, I hereby pledge to make an additional donation if we make it to 10 zip.

ps I hope this post isn't out of line Andy / Mods.  If it is, please delete.  My donation will be forthcoming regardless.

Demonland is awesome! My only regret is that I only learned of its existence four weeks ago. I really, really could’ve done with it last year. In early March a three-week visit to Warsaw blew out to seven months thanks to covid. All I had was a 6-min highlights video on YouTube after each match, which I only watched if we’d won. The first (and only) match I watched in it’s entirety was the grannie, and that was on Day 11 of hotel quarantine in Adelaide. Oh, how I could’ve done with Demonland last year. ❤️?

Watching the replay: must agree with those critical of the barracking for Carlton, or Eddie Betts at least. Brayshaw's refusal to acknowledge Lever got his foot to the ball when tackled by Betts allowed JB to rabbit on for another minute about Eddie's glory.

BT's "observations" about Melbourne supporters are utterly without value. So glad I was at the game and did not have to listen to these clowns. Anyone notice how quiet Bartel was? Maybe he was embarrassed to be associated with these two.

Jimmy Bartel is definitely embarrassed by BT’s buffoonery, as are Luke Hodge and Jobe Watson, among others. Sometimes to the degree that it makes for uncomfortable viewing.

This pic’s going straight to the pool room. Well, my kitchen wall anyways. ?

Bartel is great on The Age Real Footy Podcast. Very insightful.

It was Jimmy Bartel who had a great answer to a question from BT during one of his many digressions. BT was talking about Elvis songs for ages (during play, of course) and he asked Jimmy what’s your favourite Elvis song? Without missing a beat Jimmy says, “A Little Less Conversation.” ?

  12. That spring in our step? The spring that increases with every win/week?? I bet I’m not the only one who’s bounding around like a kangaroo this morning!
And by kangaroo I mean the marsupial that’s on our coat of arms, NOT the sadsacks who barrack for North. ❤️?

I’m not sure BT even knows the rules. There have been lots of examples over the weeks of this. Today, I think it was Lever who was tackled and just got his foot to the ball. BT insisted it should have been HTB. “Huh? He kicked it, you [censored].” (Sorry, re-living it.)

And then there is just his ignorance... Earlier this round he needed Hodge to explain an intercept mark.

I remember that! He couldn’t understand what constitutes an intercept mark. Even after Hodgey explained it he said “but isn’t it just a mark?” BT has the attention span of a moth. He seems to be unable to concentrate on any given subject for more than a minute or so before having to go off on non-footy tangents.
