  1. Which one was he? It all happened so fast i couldn't even see him. He's a mix of Aaron Davey and Clayton Oliver. Speed and kicking live Davey and quick hands and vision like Oliver. Jason Taylor is a gun.
  2. I've been thinking the same. I just hope he doesn't get nominated this year so he flys under the radar and we get better odds. I won't be able to put it on with crown bet who banned me after I bet on Oliver in his 2nd season to get most votes for Melbourne in the brownlow at 100-1 and loaded up on it.
  3. In the Gus and Gawny podcast Gawny mentioned we have a horrible record with a crowdless MCG. I can't remember the numbers but they were bad for a team sitting top of the ladder.
  4. [censored] year to finish top 2 if you don't get a home final
  5. I agree on Gawn but Rivers can kick it post high from 50m out and go 20m into the stands. I'd back him to be the longest kick at the club.
  6. I am the most One eyed biased Dees supporter and one of my Essendrugs supporting mates told me to bet on him about 6 weeks ago and I stupidly argued with him and didn't get on.
  7. Lightning doesn't strike twice so don't worry about that robbing us of the flag. We are truly coming this year. That lightning call reminded me of tennis when there is a dominant player and the other one calls an injury break to stop the momentum.it was BS
  8. In 87 as far as I can remember, I was just a kid. We came flying home at the end. This year we have been pretty consistently dominant and have about 5 of the top 10 players in the league.
  9. 6 Jayson Taylor 5 Petty 4 Jackson 3 no lightning I don't care about the rest we are top of the ladder and Oliver is probably going to get the most coaches votes of all time. Look out September.
  10. We owe them and I hope we do to them what they did to us.
  11. Stand up comedy gig this arvo?
  12. If Selwood cops Viney 2 weeks in a row that might be the end of a stellar career.
  13. Who knows what will with happen with covid restrictions but as it stands we play Geelong in the last round. It is likely if we win we finish top and they finish fourth meaning we play them the following week. If we lose it is likely we finish second and they finish third. Which again means we play them the following week. There are other factors involved but I'm calling it now.
  14. I didn't mean if a thug like Wallace hit Petracca in this finals series Petracca would hit him back. But whoever did will have it coming back to them. Viney is sharpening his elbow with pool chaulk at the moment. Oliver is 21 votes off the most coaches votes ever with 3 games to go. I don't think that's from throwing himself on the ground and pretending to spew.
  15. I had forgotten Woey went off with a hammy in the 2000 GF. Essendon were the best team all year but we had Whelan miss through injury, Brad Green get punched in the throat by that thug Wallace and Woey do a hammy. They were young at the time but all the best players of a generation at Melbourne. At least if someone punches Oliver or Petracca this year they will cop it back harder.
  16. Ash Barty, Samantha Kerr and Patty Mills all cemented their reputations as Australian icons during the Olympics. Well done great Australians.
  17. Again I don't condone whatever it is he has said. He is a previous AFL captain so I don't think the no DH policy applies. He must do alot right. We would get him in a fire sale and fix our biggest deficiency.
  18. Lord Nev I will PM you. It was in an interview with Lyon and Watson. I'm so busy doing nothing in lockdown 6 it will be in the next 24 hours
  19. From what I understand Tex didn't wish anybody to be blugeoned to death
  20. It's not my aim but I would hold it as a badge of honour.
  21. It beggars belief to me that an AFL captain, who has made a massive mistake isn't considered a trade target by demonlanders. Tall forwards are an area of deficiency for Melbourne and we could get him for next to nothing. Again I don't condone racism and am uncfortable that we call Mark Williams choco given he said it was based on racism to begin with in an SEN interview but he didn't care anymore.
  22. EO - you are my favourite poster on Demonland and I have wondered if you have come from nowhere or just a poster who has changed their name. In answer to your questions 1) I was an admirer of Taylor, particularly because he was best mates with Bernie Vince. My thoughts on him have changed well before this and I no longer respect him 2) of course I can seperate bigotry and players capacity. Can you? 3) I don't presume any player will stay with their club or within their state. Free agency provides an environment for them to move around 4) I would hope and believe Melbourne have a culture in place to bring in players like Tex and educate them. We have Whelan the Wrecker employed by the club to stamp out racism
  23. Our weakness is key forwards we would get him at bargain basement. We have all said things we regret. Again I don't condone racism. I don't condone Viney elbowing that bloke for a sustained period either.
  24. Tex isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but he was made captain so he must have a few smarts. I don't condone racism in any way but I also believe in second chances. Our key forwards aren't great and when on song Tex is a gun that could win us a premiership.
  25. I will be booing Tex next time he plays against us. I detest racism.
