  1. No, let just keep the status quo. It has worked so well these last 56 years.
  2. 56 years in the wilderness. Not a sniff. We were no chance in 88 and 2000 Move on, take the Tassie deal, say thanks for the memories to the MCC old guard. 11 games in Tassie 11 games in Melbourne Give young supprters who follow the red and blu Demons a future.
  3. True, Brian Wilson at his best tore teams apart running forward of centre.
  4. So you are not laughing at the facilities now, or the eight Premierships they have won since our last or the deep pockets and business links of their big end of town supporters.
  5. Pretty easy these days to present an online video of the facilities. Princess Park is a great facility. What blueprint. I believe there is another power club in his managers ear.
  6. Money, good training facilities, a vision for success
  7. We know nothing as fact but the issue is. He will not likely sign in the off season. The longer it takes the more his decision is based on team success and playing finals. The pressure will be intense and I am convinced another power club has not shown their hand yet.
  8. I differ in the respect we had very good foresight to recruit him. He is an exceptionally talented player with the right drive. It is a killer for support and list building if he goes.
  9. Not sure how your mind works with the smart, well you would be a smart alec if you were smart comments, but I am saying I do not believe footy is not his main passion anymore and it is reflected in his form drop off. Another baby due next year. Now some players do not miss a bit when they have a family. Others it effects differetly.
  10. Stand by what I say, and yes I do have some inside knowlege on this one. Family is No 1 with Ben.
  11. Ben Brown could not give a stuff about MFC. Play for pay. Buyer beware.
  12. The walk through the Gardens, crunching autumn leaves, confident, excited, happy, the walk back to the car crunching the leaves a bit harder. I say to my son, great win mate/well it was good to sit and chat and get out anyway. I think a few blokes are only a year or two away.
  13. So true. Some here think we are or are about to be a successful club and it is just injuries, the hub or a assistant coach or two that has stopped us succeeding. We are neither super talented or super competitive across the ground. Oliver has a burning desire for success and challenge.
  14. Reckon you are stuck with the dud pigs though. The good ones woulda left.
  15. Perhaps, but look at it from Olivers perspective. Why stay?
  16. I wished jessie luck, understood alves and wells. healy shattered me along with others.
  17. My read is he is frustrated that he is trying to bring lesser players into the game with his handball. He was a stand out as having a fast footy brain from the outset. His hanball has become less effective but its possible he still sees it as connstructive and therefore doesnt like being told by the coaching staff to run and kick. The idea he sees the 5th place on as a reflection of being undervalued is very different than thinking, i reckon I should have come higher. I am seeing his point of view especially if he imagines himself dishing out disposals to more creative type players than our mids, petracca aside. I reckon he is gone, not this year though.
  18. To me he seems like a VFL player who outperforms on occasion. May just not have the talent week in week out to comfortably stay at the top level.
  19. Brown is now a genuine dedicated family man. I think priorities have shifted. He and Weid are both straight up the ground leads. It would take some serious forward coaches for both to play together.
