  1. how was that not 50 to May, bloke that stood the mark was 5m ahead of where he marked it
  2. nobody say anything about the kicking, you will Jinx it!!!
  3. the kicking is now in their head, I have no doubt. We have always been a bad kicking side, but never this bad.
  4. I feel sorry for JVR, give him a run, I also think 3 talls is the way forward and Melksham out. (JVR, Jeffo & Petty/Johnson) I don't see the point of playing Melksham and Tmac now unless injuries, they aren't part of the future even beyond this year. Windsor does need a rest, only a kid and I think his move to half back has hurt both he and Rivers progression. I don't think the Duke is a HBF, he is a wingman.
  5. Isn't Johnson back from suspension, Id like to see him, JVR and Jeffo up forward and Petty to defence
  6. Lever dropped by the sounds, which I think makes sense for team balance and form. Please mean that Petty is going to Def as well
  7. I 100% like the idea of Ollie Lord, have liked what he has given Port when he has played. and gives a good @nd ruck option. Would be cheap and there has been murmurs that he wants to come back to Vic. I hope they are in his managers ear already.
  8. Mckay has looked much better in the second ruck for Carlt this year, he would take a lot of pressure off JVR and allow JVR to play closer to home. Much more of an up the ground player than BBB. But with a big chunk of coin put into Oliver, Petracca, Kossie and Lever mainly. I can't see how we could afford another big contract out. Apparently, we offered a big deal to Logan Morris from Bris last yr, Garry Lyon mentioned this on SEN, which good to know we had a crack. Dunno who will be available this year. Hoping our forwards develop and we don't need to go shopping, optimistic I know.
  9. He would be a great get. I just don't see how we can afford it though
  10. Moving Fwd this year with an eye to the future I'd like to see: FB: McVee Petty Bowey HB: Windsor Turner Lever C: Lindsey Oliver Langdon HF: Petracca Johnson Chandler FF: Fritsch JVR Jefferson Fol: Gawn Pickett Langford Int: Viney, Salem, Rivers, Tholstrup, Sub: Sharp May - is obviously in the team, but next year I think it needs to be like T-mac this year, mentor and injury cover. Melksham & T-mac, thank you for everything and congrats on great careers Viney straight swap with Oliver on ball, Rivers in this rotation as well Trac and Langford rotate on ball and half fwd. Petty to where he will end up, perfect May replacement. Johnson for ruck chop out and protect JVR & Jeffo up fwd. This is just what I think with the current team, not with trades or anything else, and I honestly think it's a pretty good team, CHF clearly our biggest gap.
  11. How quickly people turn haha, Goody has done a great job changing the game plan and preparing us for a new style. 2 weeks ago we were great against the clear #1 team. These young guys have dropped off which is to be expected, which means our older guys are back to doing the bulk of the work, unfortunately the game plan of the past 6 years is inbedded in them and they revert back to muscle memory. The bye has come at a good time, about to his the hard slog of the season, so a refresh will be good.
  12. Get off it, match losing. If his kicking is "match losing" then every player in the AFL is a "match loser" as they dont have the match winning abilities Max has. There are way more easy and basic fundamentals in the game, like handballs, blocking, leading, shepparding. All a lot easier than kicking. He literally can do it all besides his kicking, which isn't that bad for a ruckman. And this year it has gone backwards a bit. Fact is not a lot of other Rucks get into the positions to impact the scoreboard like Max can, and if they do they dont have anywhere near the impact around the ground. We don't say Garry Ablett Jrn was a match loser because he was a poor tackler.
  13. Gents, not a great game. I think some demonlanders need to realise we have changed our gamestyle, but have a lot of players that have spent the last 6+ years playing and training our old style. So the dump kick naturally sneaks back into their game. It's frustrating yes, but they are working on changing from it, all you have to do is look at the players doing it, Oliver, Viney, May, Trac and Co. These guys won a premiership and finished top 4 playing the "forward territory" game, they will just need a bit more time and training to lose that muscle memory. Also, people need to get over Max's goal kicking, he isn't a good kick. No player can do everything, and Max can do pretty much everything except that, take the good with the bad and relish it whilst we still can! Also is it to early to offer Kalani White a Kossie deal?
  14. so a Kenterfield, Johnson type?? Unfortunately, they are like diamonds, and you have to get lucky. Brisbane defiantly don't they are struggling in that area after Daniher retired. We were keen on Wade Derksen from GWS in the trade period but GWS wouldn't let him go, he plays defence atm but also played forward as a jnr and when he first got to GWS. Be interesting if they go for him again now he is out of contract.
  15. I'm torn. Langdon did a fantastic job, but..... Langdon had 4 possies, he was averaging 21 before Mon. And when he gets the ball, he provides run and carry and is Ave .6 goal assists per game. Not to mention .5 goals a game himself (he does that we win, but maybe Naicos kicks another as well) It was a great job, but i feel he sacrificed too much of his role to do it.
  16. Amazing careers Garry and Daisy, both icons of the MFC and well deserved
  17. No, Disco has been our best player over the past 5-6 weeks (Bar Max). not only does he intercept and beat his opponent, but he gives us drive. he cannot be moved. He has a clear role and is thriving in it, swapping young guys around like that gives no balance and confuses them. Same as putting JVR in and out, I think we need to give him 5 weeks here and let him go. Other wise his role and synergy with teammates changes every 2 weeks, very different playing with Melk, Kossie and Petty in the AFL compared to Jeffo, Mentha and Fullarton in the VFL
  18. Amaizing effort from the boys. if you look at the goals Collingwood kicked, they came from very silly skill errors on our end. This is something that is part of learning a new game plan and style and will tidy up. I don't like losing but if we do this is how I want to lose, knowing we are heading in the right way and having a style that is exciting and watchable. Clearly the fwd line is an issue and i think the club may have had high expectations on JVR and he now gets more attention from opposition as they know he is the go-to fwd. Yup gun key fwd would be great, but we don't have one, and switching it around every week doesn't help anyone. Mostly a great game verse the Black, White and Green. I'm not usually one to jump on the umps as they have just been horrible across the board this year, but frees like the one against Melk in that marking contest can't happen. which they kicked a goal from. Big Game against Port, they can turn it on in random weeks, so we need to be switched on from the get-go like this week!
  19. Stick a tackle!!!
  20. Devastated i can't make this game. Think we will put up a fight. My ticket is available if anyone would like it.
  21. Defend back shoulder ffs, make them kick it over our head to a lead. This is pathetic
  22. Rivers that was pathetic. Bend down and pick it up
  23. Pathetic defending
  24. he is a good user by foot and get into space well, our old game style was very stop start and down the line. Guys like Bill when they "get and go" are better with ball in hand and make the link up play better. Whilst Sparrow has been ok this year i think this is a part of the game he lacks and gets caught holding the ball up a bit in.
  25. Laurie will suit the new game style we are playing. Think he will be a lot better than he has been in the past. I'd like to see him get a go, and notbas sub.
