To me it looks like we’re being played by the Cats, all be it beautifully. They have been on him all year, sell him the dream and then sit back and watch our house burn while we fumble the deck.

Grundy was offloaded simply for the size of his contract…..Oliver is being offloaded because he’s a bit of a twit.

Unfortunately keeping things simple is very very complicated.

So what are we expecting Geelong to pay? Being realistic the likely outcome for us will be no better than a future first and the first $1million of his salary covered.

I’m here to a point. If I looked at our club and thought it’s a well run tight ship I’d absolutely be backing them in. Currently we’re not being well run and my guess is although Oliver has a large share of the blame here the club appears to have allowed him more leniency that has served useful.

Likely reality: We'll pay for his new beach house, part of his salary and get a pack of chips and a diet coke in return. You can just see it unravelling now. The thing is if we were a well run club we would transition our team on this trade but we won't we'll fluff it. Without all the noise about other aspects of our club and the Petracca mess, we could trade Oliver for plenty and make a big play for Butters. However no one's coming here this year or next. 2025: Cooked....Great work team.
