Who cares why he’s omitted. He’s a quality human and footballer. I’ve no doubt he’ll be back better for it. Looking at Grundy and Gawn I’d say Gawn has another year and Grundy has 4-5 more. He’ll be number 1 ruck next year and beyond.

Bombers stretched us because Grundy was poor defensively that day. Gawn can play the drop back ruck much better than Grundy, whose strength is post ruck clearance work. We also have a really settled back half and should be able to comfortably cover Brisbane playing 2 rucks. This game will be won at contest. Beat them there and it’s all over.

I'd take JVR over grundy any day of the week. Play Max as the ruck, JVR or Brown can ruck in the forward half and Petty can take the odd hit out down back. Time for our smalls to lift their attacking vibe.

Whatever anyone’s interest in Brown and Schache, I’d swap both for a mid 20’s angry, leading forward who likes to hit packs and kick goals.

Buddy’s not the GOAT, not strong enough overhead to be even considered.

Does JVR and/or Chandler come back in? Can JJ get his hands on enough ball? Will Kozz go into the middle? Will we attack more freely this week? Brisbane have no doubt set themselves for this game as I think Adelaide have for next week. We really only need to win one of these but I reckon the team wants them both so should be a great couple of weeks.
