I don't buy that reasoning. If the club as a whole told the players to not ruffle up maynard then we have issues. I reckon we'd be the only club going that would let Maynard walk away from that. Didn't the skipper just the other day question our culture? For mine Monday's game is just so important. I still can't believe whats occurred over the last 3 weeks. Even though I was pretty harsh on us prior to the season I still had us finishing anywhere from 1 - 12. Prior the WC game I was feeling pretty good even after losing to Carlton again. But sheesh WC followed up by Freo?? I have no idea where we stand as a team atm, I'm leaning toward all talk but we still have just enough time to surge. I do believe we load at this time and trust that we've set ourselves for the Pies. To have any 2024 cred we kinda have to win this.

The final against Carlton was a low point. I’ve ranted enough about that so we move to tonight. On first look I think we’re in for a 4 goal win but each time I look the margin gets closer. Cripps is a beast and Walsh is all class. If our mids aren’t on we’re in trouble. FFS kick straight and just win and preferably easily, if that’s even possible anymore.

I made it very clear sometime ago that I and many others require solid training reports by early afternoon. So please stop complaining about us complaining.

My thoughts are that the Blues will tire more than the Demons. You’ve had a gruelling 4 matches and you’ll be doing well not to be a tad physically and emotionally spent. I think that’s the opposite of what many feel is our 5 day break disadvantage.

That’s the worst training thread I’ve ever read but I found it rather enjoyable all the same.

They’ve played more footy than us lately. We’ve had a bye pre Richmond and 10 days pre Cats, I think it’ll be the Blues who are flat. They’ve had successive big games against GWS, Pies and Cats. We should be pretty close to cherry ripe.

I think we’re all still guessing. I’m in the happy if he stays and happy if we get a top 10 and a top 20 pick for him. The biggest advantage of him staying besides his obvious talent is every time an in doubt player signs it builds something intangible within the club and supporter base. It says to the football world “Why on earth would I leave this awesome club” For me, had I been good enough, all the money in the world wouldn’t have me leaving the Demons.
