This is an incredibly short sighted view. The club and passionate supporter base on here should always be pondering the future and if we want to keep winning then we need to keep improving. A 10-1 start 12 months ago would have been considered impossible but we made improvements in to make it happen

Thought there was talk of Geelong. Or was that them getting involved as a third party and palming off Clark?
-
How much can I chip in to guarantee this?
-
He’s had a fairly rapid fall from grace!
-
We have done an unbelievable job on Bont, he’s had very little room to move so far
-
He’s been so close on a few occasions tonight, hope this gives him wings and he kicks a couple more in the last
-
Similar to what is being discussed with Tom Mitchell right now. His effect is being nullified because he's got no one of use to give the ball to.
-
How many games has Narkle played over the journey? Not surprising he's waiting as he's finally had a decent game
-
Agreed. The vulnerable categories are pretty slack in getting it done, meanwhile the people not in those categories who are ready cannot. If it was opened to everyone, vaccination numbers would be much, much higher. I'm under 50 and not in health and everyone I know is waiting for the green light, just never seems to come

I was laughed at for suggesting Viney would struggle to play more than 10 games in the pre season
-
I think our game is still very reliant on being able to attack. Not sure we are as good when things aren't on our terms and the doggies will certainly make us pay at Marvel
-
I don't know that Harmes can go with Bont, gives away a lot of height and weight (8cm and 8kg at a quick glance)
-
I don't know that we have anyone capable of standing Daniels? Fritsch is too timid, ANB is probably not smart enough. Melksham is too concerned about his own game. Maybe Spargo, but he's proving too useful going the other way. Would be ideal to try and isolate Daniels on Kossie, he'd have his hands full then.

I think there's definitely some valid points being raised. The forward line was functioning more efficiently without BB and Weid as we were more mobile and less predictable. The first 6 rounds we were really clicking as a team but as the pressure has come we have reverted back to a bit more individual play. The challenge is how we respond over the next 2 weeks, we have given ourselves a good headstart and now the real work begins

It was definitely peculiar that Lockhart had played quite a bit then just disappeared and never seemed to be in contention again.
-
Mitch Brown definitely has his limitations but I agree that he fits the style. Covers plenty of ground and is actually versatile.
-
I’d take Weid over Fritsch on current form

It’s not too surprising that a few of our guys have gone to water now that teams are really hunting us. It was always going to be very hard to maintain our intensity from the fast start to the year but that was a pretty soulless performance. Will be a good test for the selfless behaviour the club has been preaching because the system has won us games of footy this year and the system was non-existent last night. The selection over the past few weeks could have had a negative impact on the group and I hope that can steady. Salem out hurt our setup immensely. Doggies clash will be huge. Friday night on the big stage against the best side in it. If we are to be any chance this year we will need to get to work from this morning and see what won the games early in the year

Umps got it wrong - need a please explain

The holding the ball non-call was the one that killed the game for us. We could have steadied from that position and held on. Was a brilliant tackle and should be exactly what the AFL use as the perfect example of a player trying to break away and then getting tackled. The deliberate out of bounds was bad but a lot harder to call at that stage of the game and at that position on the ground -
There’s a couple of blokes who ride the coattails of others in our side. Reckon they will be a tad nervous this week. This was probably something that had been brewing since Richmond, teams are putting time into us and we got away with it against North and Carlton but Adelaide brought the heat for the entire game with a big and patriotic crowd behind them. Need to cop this on the chin, stop drinking the bath water and get back to what made us tick in the first 6 weeks
-
Reckon the club has had it's hands full trying to get all things you listed under control, not just the home base!

He's got too much talent to be wasting away in the 2nds at Geelong, would like to see him gain confidence through some consistent game time. Is a WA boy from memory, so would make sense that he becomes involved in the Cerra trade
-
As mentioned, May and Langdon are key pillars of our structure. I rate May really, really highly but would almost argue that Langdon has done more to help with our new found confidence than any player. He covers so much ground and his positioning is first class. The Max at the Bulldogs point is interesting, however I think we have adopted the Hawthorn model of placing less emphasis on centre clearances and the coaches are being a little coy about it

He has been huge for this club. Copped his whack early and went about gaining the trust and admiration of the entire club. I am massive on him
