  1. Brilliant player. Ripping bloke. So sad that he left us way too early.
  2. I think the main pieces are in place, winger and another small forward notwithstanding, but all eyes will be on Goodwin from Round 1. Time for our coach to deliver consistency and results.
  3. Collingwood are my second team.
  4. No SONS. That mullet is awesome. I don’t ever want him to cut it.
  5. Try me. I’m an understanding and open-minded individual.
  6. Can you elaborate a little on this remark and explain what white supremacist thinking has been displayed in this thread?
  7. Nathan and Eddie’s judgment has been shown to be very suspect and they got the Lumumba response wrong as well. They nick named the bloke chimp for God’s sake. There’s no defending that. The right course of action would be a mea culpa and a genuine attempt to atone and try to be better in the future. Lumumba is right to call them out. I think he's over reaching just a tad when he says things like ”My name is a symbol of black power and revolution, and ties me to the spirit of great men such as Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali and Patrice Lumumba”. He aint any of those. And I’m glad he found solace in his identify and re-connected with his Congolese roots. So much so that he’s decided to move to……..Los Angeles?
  8. I wouldn’t be using a pick on a half back on the assumption Salem will be a success on the wing. I wouldn’t be moving Hunt back there either. He has found his role in support up forward. I would definitely use a pick to find a winger. If its an itch we have to scratch play him there after Baker has had a run (quite likely he’ll be dropped but you never know). If it doesn’t work then revert back quickly. But don’t be wasting picks on a position where we have a perfectly good player in situ.
  9. Who replaces him at half back? If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Our record converting players isn’t too flash. We’ve tried players on the wing with more suitable attributes that have been a bust and Salem will be no different. Leave him where he is and where he’s been learning his trade for the last 100 odd games.
  10. Just to be clear. I saw DZ’s original post about Joel Smith being a decent defender so I’ve assumed this is an ironic thread.
  11. Tom Scully has been unfairly maligned by the Dees faithful for long enough. I think it’s time to forgive and forget!
  12. I’m impressed by the level of his commitment. I wonder how many other second year players have undergone a 7 week program like this. That’s also a very impressive mullet. A real throwback. Between LJ and BB we’ve got the rest of the league well and truly covered in terms of suave hairstyles!
  13. Compared to Europe and the US (God knows what’s on in South America and Africa) we have the virus well under control. From a priority perspective other countries are a head of us in the queue. Given the speed of production and the lack of longitudinal studies, which are typically such an important part in confirming the safety of the vaccine, I think it’s wise to let others go first. If it’s safe to use then roll it out. In the meantime, borders closed, iron grip on quarantined hotels and jump on any outbreak. The one big worry I have about the Oz open is I don’t know whether our contract tracing here in Victoria is up to the job.
  14. I think Port Melbourne is as good a spot as any. The whole area is ripe for development.
  15. depends how you define remotely. the 109 tram gets you there in 15 mins from the top of collins street. I consider Casey Fields remote. Port Melbourne is close by.
  16. Benny Brown is a big piece of the puzzle for us. He's No. 1 most important player for us next year imv. We're much more likely to have a successful year if he wins the Coleman than if Petracca wins the Brownlow.
  17. Langdon?

It would be great to have the Farmer name on the list again. But he has to have the talent. I’m not interested in the romance just for the sake of it.
  19. Ruck, forward, mid doesn’t matter. He’s going to be some player whatever position he plays.
  20. Australian wine is excellent no doubt. Spent some time in South America, Argentina in particular, and developed a taste for the Argentinian Malbec variety. Chilean wines are very good as well. The missus prefers whites and likes her New Zealand sav blanc from the Marlborough region.
  21. possessed a mean left jab. was never the same after that Mills suspension.
  22. Not that I need any excuse to drink wine but you’re right. A lot of small wine producers have been doing it tough between bushfires, Covid and now the effective closure of the china market. It’ll be Australian wines only in our household for the holiday period and beyond. I’ll definitely be giving some Bleasdale Shiraz a whirl as well.
  23. Viney's looking a little chunky!
  24. Say it ain't so! Hotel quarantine program. enough said.
  25. The MGC precinct is the preference but if it’s too hard to get off the ground then I suggest we stop banging our heads against a brick wall and look at alternatives. From the club’s perspective you’d think the location which is selected would maximise revenues from memberships and be an attractive location to host conferences/social functions etc. Accessible via public transport important as well. And of course tick the “community benefit” box. The government is throwing money around like confetti at the moment. But things change quickly. If a vaccine arrives and the economy picks up the focus could change to debt reduction and we miss out. Another missed opportunity! Btw I wouldn’t be in favor of Casey as the home base. Too far out.
