  1. Great to have footy back on the TV. Impressed with Richmond last night. They look much improved. Conti is an excellent player for them The Doggies at Whitten Oval is a tough first up assignment. We were rubbish there last year. Goal kicking was dire. Hoping Harris can hit the ground running and snag a couple of goals Tyla Hanks to be best on ground Dees by 10 points
  2. Goldrick didn't play a lot of Gaelic football this year due to injury. Maybe she's still not quite recovered. McNamara is a surprise. she must be injured
  3. How good is our depth
  4. Talent is there. Good mix of experience and youth. If we are lucky with injuries and Tayla Harris hits the ground running then we're got a great chance.
  5. Better now than during the season
  6. The flag was a huge plus in what was an otherwise very ordinary year
  7. I’m excited about 2022 as well Luke. Reckon we’re going to go back to back
  8. The biggest annoyance i have with Kayo is not showing the Grand Final live. Having to scramble at the last minute to catch the first bounce was very irritating
  9. I’m very optimistic about the outlook for the new year Covid wise. By the time the AFL season rolls around I don;t think there will be the same level of disruption currently being experienced in US and European sports. The vaccines have done their job and reduced the severity of symptoms. The virus has evolved into the relatively mild Omicron variant. Because its highly transmissible there will be high levels of natural immunity in the community. Internationally, the surge in cases is not leading to an overwhelmed hospital system. This is what the end of the pandemic should look like. There’s still a lot of fear however stoked by the media and skittish health bureaucrats and politicians. I think overcoming the psychosis caused by Covid will be the biggest challenge to ending the pandemic
  10. Make or break season. Really hope he has an injury free preseason to give him the best chance of success
  11. The stigma has been removed. No longer have to deal with pity and /or disdain when declaring I’m a Dees supporter. I will say its hard to stay humble when your team is so good though. Spent yesterday evening with my St Kilda supporting in-laws. The dynamic has changed. No longer equally hopeless. I couldn’t help being mean-spirited and petty. I know this makes me sound obnoxious but if St Kilda had won the flag I would have been on the receiving end without doubt. My topics of conversation were: How good were the Dees this year Will the Dees 3-peat Can the Dees go unbeaten in 2022 Langdon v Brad Hill. Who got the better deal St Kilda’s recent dumpster fire recruitment policy Will St Kilda ever win another premiership McCartin over Petracca, what might have been Can’t wait for season 2022 to get underway Go Dees
  12. Happy xmas demonlanders. Hope you all have a relaxing and peaceful holiday period
  13. Return the favor and beat them by 186 would be sweet
  14. One ton is roughly equivalent to 2200 pounds or 1000 kg’s. To put this into perspective, the average adult male weighs about 90 kg’s. It would take 11 adult men to equal a ton. For those wondering about other things that weigh one ton I’ve provided a list below Baby Humpback Whale Walrus Black Rhinoceros Wild Asian Water Buffalo 1979 Volkswagen Beetle 110.6 million feathers 333 Standard Red Bricks 73 Bullion bars of gold 31.2 cubic feet of saltwater Adult Male Moose Saltwater Crocodile 22 cubic feet of sand Great White Shark Your welcome
  15. I have St Kilda supporting in-laws. They're decent folks except when it comes to footy. I'll make sure to remind them over Christmas who now has the longest flag drought in the league
  16. Got 10 right in 4 mins 37 secs I've looked at that sequence more than any other for the season including finals. Thought i would do better. Great questions though. I doubt anyone will get more than 15 without having to refresh they're memory beforehand
  17. If he has a solid support network around him and gets wise advice he’ll be ok My advice. Focus on footy and ignore social media. Never heard anyone ever say social media helped with their mental health and wellbeing
  18. I 100% thought TMac was cooked last year but he turned it around in style. Maybe the Weid will do the same this year
  19. The players love him. Tie him down long term the only person I would give a contract for life is Jason Taylor. That bloke has a gift
  20. Great report DIO. Thanks
  21. Looking forward to seeing the great man at the G for Rd 1 https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/afl-legend-ron-barassi-is-back-at-the-gym-and-his-old-self-after-covid-fight/news-story/832051d21db8fe8862f3c4f1812b8e21 A snippet for those who can't get past the paywall “Ron is on the improve,” Rosemary Long said. “He went to the gym (on Thursday) and the plan was that he was going to take it easy. But Ron did his full routine, much to the surprise of his trainer.” Melbourne is now likely to ask Ron Barassi to play a role in its premiership flag unfurling in Round 1 next year.
  22. Says a lot about how the club deals with players that TMac and Nibbler, both told to look at their options in the off season, performed so strongly in the B&F voting. We really are in great shape culture wise
  23. And they all made the AA team
  24. I'm glad Glen Bartlett got some recognition. Nice touch Kate Roffey
