Very conflicted today. I love the death ride but hate Geelong. Ideally Geelong loses today but Freo still finish in bottom 4 at seasons end.

The better Carlton does in his absence the more likely this becomes an option. I don't know whether he is open to leaving but he would make a massive difference to us. In terms of cost i'd give Carlton our first rounders this year. If our later pick isn't satisfactory maybe, we can do a deal with GC to get there's. And I'd prefer to use our picks on McKay than trading up for No.1 to get Harley Reid.

Comparing me to Peter Bell! I'm deeply insulted. Not proven is little unfair i reckon. He kicked 32 goals in 2021 and 23 last year (although he was wayward and kicked a lot of behinds. his yips are fixable though). Was a first round pick. Eagles were apparently chasing him last year. At 22, he's much younger than Grundy. ACL's are far from career ending compared to back in the day. obviously any trade subject to a proper medical And i reckon he'd be playing in our first team at the moment while Grundy languishes at Casey.

Grundy for georgiades is a fair swap I reckon. that said I would be very surprised if Grundy is traded. He’s Maxys successor so we’ll just create a problem for ourselves if we trade.

This thread has been a real hoot. Schadenfreude is so satisfying. From my perspective its been worth trading Jackson purely for the joy of laughing at Freo. Life will be a little emptier next season without the death ride. I reckon we should trade another player to Freo or another club this trade period for their future picks so we can keep this death riding show on the road.

Back on topic, I think he’s come on well this year. Has an x factor. Worth pursuing if the price is right.
