majority of the leadership group, including both coaches, have already indorsed this contest and this date... we will be playing talkingcarlton on Sunday, November 2 at 2pm... the venue will be glenferrie oval if gosch's park is not available... I have sent emails to past players and supporters... new players should know they are most welcome... the bench rotates constantly and everyone gets as much game time as they want (or can stand)... new supporters should know the same (we can never get enough extra water delivered to the venue at this time of the year)... with exams looming, this is a good time for talkingcarlton to try to ambush us... <_< perhaps they have underestimated the pent-up anger and frustration we are still feeling over season 2008... give us some positive "I will be there" posts now please...

I agree it is unfair that the people who could comment on the players from previous generations are dead. I saw many barrasi games, and most flower games. Barassi the match-winner and premiership-maker by a country mile. He turned the momentum. Robbie was the complete player, would win every one-on-one contest, and could not be tagged, but barrasi imposed himself on the game and forced the premierships our way. Repeat my apologies to the memory of the past players it was never my privilege to see in action.

it's a safe place to hide, rusty, so spots at HF are at at premium... :angry: I have been known to accept bribes... looking forward to meeting you and the other newbies... whispering jack is a nice bloke, but you need to know that coach redleg is a demanding sort-of-kind-of individual... last time, the sainters criticised us for his stretches and pre-match drills... "big carl" is on the line, said redleg... the sainters beat us once... redleg is intent, I think, on making sure this never, ever (not once, ever again) happens... but it's all good fun (as long as we keep winning, I guess)...

I never thought I would meet David Neitz in person... It happened today in Melbourne as we were both paying to leave a restaurant... I had never planned for this meeting, so I found myself flashing my membership card, smiling stupidly, extending my hand and saying "thank you". "No", Neita said, grasping my hand firmly, "thank you". He walked off, leaving me bemused and wishing I knew what he meant. (Mental note: make a plan for the next chance meeting with one of the team)...

"Could someone pleeeease explain what this post is about?" sorry for all the "in" jokes, courtney... every 12-15 months or so, demonland/demonology play a footy game against the saintsational site for the trophy named after carl ditterich, who played for both clubs... tassie devil is from tasmania, and has an in-bred hatred for all things normal and natural... he apparently thinks the MFC"s performance is affected by whether we win or lose these matches against saintsational... diablo is a young man who cannot write grammatical English, but loves to jump on the occasional lapse by those of us who can...
