Does that mean Jefferson and Tholstrup are out of the main game?
The club do like some young guys to have the experience of a match day. Wouldn’t surprise me if Kolt/Jeffo get pulled at 3QT and then warm up and do the ‘match day experience’ with the main team tonight but don’t actually play

So Tomlinson gets 3rd tall spot in defense. Surprised about Howes going on Richmond practice. Hope he goes ok.
Why are you surprised? These young guys will never improve if they only get once chance and then get dropped straight away if they don’t perform.

Bit late with the revisionist history about trading him. If his wish is to leave at the end of 24’ or 25’ we just need to hope he can get on the park and show something otherwise no club will be stupid enough to chuck money at him or draft capital with the ‘fragile’ body he is beginning show that he has.

From the video footage I have seen, forward handballs seem to be a big part of our game for this year?
Andrew McQualter has bought some Richmond tricks over👀

Burgo would have told McAdam to run it out
And there lies one of the big reasons McAdam was unsettled at Adelaide. Lots of words went back and forth between him and Burgess. McAdam said he felt an injury and he shouldn’t be in main training to make sure he doesn’t trigger anything. Burgo told him to do get in the group and as you say ‘run it out’ and an injury occurred that session and he missed 4+ weeks.
That’s McAdam’s version of events anyway.

The forward line problem shouldn't be a problem just go smaller. Schache is no good simple as that.
B: Lever, May, McVee
HB: Bowey, Tomlinson, Rivers
C: Windsor, Petracca, Langdon
HF: Billings, van Rooyen, Neal-Bullen
F: Spargo, Fritsch, Chandler
IC: Howes, Sparrow, Laurie, Woewodin
SUB: Hore
We are running out of men, thought it would be a while before I see Hore play senior footy. With Salem, Oliver, Pickett, Petty, B. Brown, Turner, and McAdam possibly out he could get his chance.
This is scary 🤮

I can’t believe he cost us a 2nd rounder and Adelaide used his defection to turn the heat on Petty, but his talent has been evident when he’s been training, which has been most of the time.
He’s not the first MFC recruit to struggle in their first preseason with us. Happened with a much bigger name last year
Happens with most of our new recruits. As far back as Steven May.
and he’ll happily tell you about it😂

More than a corky, surely. He came off and went straight to the medicos. He changed his shorts then stood on the boundary. He then left training altogether. His face told a worrying tale.
Club have said just a bad cork.

Why are they training on a public holiday?
Because the season starts in just over a month? Would be more concerning if they weren’t training considering the amount of time they’ve had off already.

Just ask him to provide some solid training updates along with all the posters on here. Our social media team certainly aren’t providing anything 😂

They usually post photos in the afternoon after every training session.
Am aware of that. Although compared to other clubs, we are very average in any content area. Wish it would be improved upon.

Yeah don’t think the clubs social media team ventured out either….. pathetic with barely any updates or content as always.

ANB critics still on his back? Bloody hell, we would’ve been in a much worse space without him last year. Was one of the only ones who hit targets inside 50 consistently. Most underrated player in our side. There’s a reason he’s got a cemented spot in the side every week.

It’s just rubbish isn’t? Worst in the league. No interviews or barely any footage. Absolute joke. Just need to look at how the Pies, and especially Dockers/North today went about updating fans on what was going on. Such a neglected area.

I like this, as as i noted yesterday if Howes playing in defence he could take Mcvee's spot at HB allowing judd to move onto the ball, or perhaps onto the wing.
But i could also see both playing in defence, with Howes playing the lock down role Judd played last year (he's tall enough to cover the tricky medium forwards like McCarthy).
This would free up McVee to play a more aggressive, offensive role higher up the ground in the mould of kitty Coleman or Nick Daicos.
Wherer that would leave Bowser and Salo i'm not too sure - one would have to come out of the back half in that scenario you'd think.
I know there has been some talk of Salo moving on ball, but personally i cant see it. He is hard at it and strong enough to play an inside mid role, particularly with his fast hands and ability to hit short targets by foot under pressure.
But i agree with Fat Tony that his lack of pace would be an issue as a mid. It wouldn't have been an issue a few years ago but teams with slow midfields can get caught out now, particularly defensively - the Lions being an example
I wonder if Bowser could be an on ball option? He also could be an inside mid option as like salo he is hard at it and an excllent kick. But unlike salo he quick of the mark.
Bowser wasn't a defender as a junior, but i can't recall what his main role/position was. Was he a mid?
Howes will be replacing Riv in the backline. That big bull Riv is heading straight for the midfield

The club allowed me to interview Tholstrup on the Demonland Podcast.
FWIW I would interview all players and provide the footage/interview for free if they let me. They wouldn't even have to promote Demonland or me. I'd do the same for training footage too but I get the need for some secrecy around tactics etc.
I enjoyed and appreciated your interview with Koltyn mate.
Interview wise you guys do it best and wish you had more access so we could actually get some proper insight rather than robotic short and sharp ‘get it over and done withs’.

The club has been in Lorne for three days and all we've gotten is a single training gallery, pretty pathetic
Yep. The club’s social media is by far the worst in the league. Social media doesn’t move the needle for everyone (understandably) but for the people who do enjoy regular updates, the lack of content and quality of it is rubbish. Minimal photos, next to no training footage, the interviews with players and coaches are just over 1 minute if we are lucky and we are one of the only clubs who doesn’t do press conferences in pre season.
Billings, Tholsturp, Brown we still haven’t heard from. Would’ve loved to have heard more from McQualter also.Wish the club would try to improve in this area however they clearly do not care in the slightest since Ben Gibson left.

As I’ve said I’d love him to prove me wrong and that my opinion is worthless. I just see what I see.
And of course I compare him to JVR as that’s the comparison of young forwards we have. Jefferson can’t yet hold his shoulders up, he looks beaten before he begins
So you think every young key forward who comes in will be like JVR and dominate games like he did last year? Right.
That’s all I need to read then to know there’s no point continuing this conversation.

You excel at stating the obvious. A rare ability.
The best recruiters can make a mistake. The talent with Jefferson is obvious, but it doesn't mean he'll become a quality AFL player.
Hopefully, my ability to be Captain Obvious just matched yours. No mean feat.
Your excel at thinking you know better than our recruiting team is what I find amusing.
The kid has played 8 games?
I'm sure you watched Judd McVee last year and said the same thing when he didn’t have any influence on games.

CASEY: Practice Match vs Carlton

It’s okay to be modest Andy but you would absolutely do better and be far better than what gets provided from the current social media team 😂
