  1. It will be interesting to hear what they have say after the carnage announcements yesterday.
  2. Carlton (will be over by halftime) Geelong North Brisbane Melbourne (although I'm not convinced given our outs) Sydney Adelaide Essendon Fremantle
  3. The 4 tall forwards are going to be a worry for us and will stretch us without May. Do not discount Tim English drifting forward either. He has kicked 6.3 in 7 matches against us. We seem to struggle to match up against his height when he's resting in the forward line even with May in the side.
  4. My comment and question for the panel - It's a good bet that Judd McVee will get a game early, if not named in Round 1. JVR will surely get a look in at some point in the season. Which other Rookie do you guys think will debut for the Demons in 2023? Team to Rise: Gold Coast Team to Fall: Collingwood
  5. Perhaps a follow up to this one. There is certainly merit in spreading the midfield load around so as not to burn out our three stars (Trac, Clarry and Vines) but how confident are you in our second and third tier mids that it won't be costly against some of the contenders? Granted we won't be going with many all no-name brand centre bounce attendances but we don't want to be robbing Peter to pay Paul.
  6. Are we repeating history? Seems no need to play and risk Lever and his dodgy ankles today. Get him cherry ripe for Round 1.
  7. I don't think it is as simple as that. Already in this thread there have been issues identified in 3 of 5 of our most important players.
  8. That was rubbing salt in the wounds. I escape the rugby heartland only to be treated to rugby training on our training oval. Then I take a leisurely long walk back to the hotel on a beautiful morning only to get caught in a downpour. Thanks Melbourne.
  9. Down from Sydney for the week and was looking forward to repaying the DemonLand Track Watchers by writing my own report from Training. Us interstaters are so thankful for all the pre-season training reports that we get from DemonLand. Our press here knows only rugby and any skerrits of info on AFL is about the Swans. Very disappointed that training was moved to another venue without warning. yeah yeah i know it says that that can happen but it would have been nice for a heads up. This wasn't a last minute decision to change venues. They would have notified all and sundry last night. At least I got to experience 4 seasons in one day in Melbourne again.
  10. this is plausible too. I really hope a poorly worded social media post hasn’t soured the relationship between Kozzy and the club.
  11. For the post to be deleted by the club someone was offended. It might not be Kozzy but the “Thick” reference could be interpreted as fat shaming or body shaming and the club is just being PC about it. Perhaps Kozzy came back out of shape, not my opinion as I think he looks to be in beast mode, but maybe he came back a bit heavier but social media didn’t get the memo and posted what they did and then were asked to remove it either by Kozzy or the FD. Anyway this is all purely conjecture and probably has no bearing in reality.
  12. Because the club he nominated had no capital and we had no bargaining power. He pretended for the cameras that he wasn't doing the dirty on us by not nominating a club but behind closed doors he was only nominating one club. He or he hiding behind his management [censored] us and we just had to take it.
  13. I had zero problems getting to Perth both times we played them this season nor have I had any problems getting anywhere around Australia or internationally since the borders reopened. Just be honest Luke. You're looking like a bigger [censored] every time you open your mouth. The Premiership medallion offers you protection from criticism but just don't stray too far into Scully territory.
  14. Firstly thank you guys for all of your measured analysis during the year on this podcast. Given the experience of drafting Luke Jackson from WA and his subsequent request to go home after his first contract are you at all sheepish on drafting kids from interstate with high picks in the future?
  15. Prediction and Preference time. If we lose this week we will be playing the winner of Brisbane and Richmond at the MCG? Who would the panelists prefer to play and why? If we win this week we go straight into a Prelim and potentially face Geelong, Collingwood, Fremantle or Bulldogs at the G. Who of that quartet would you prefer to face off in a Preliminary Final? And finally if you could have your pick who would you like to play in a Grand Final?
  16. Reports were that Trac left the training track on the weekend with a calf complaint. The club insists that he will be fine to line up against the Swans. Someone in the thread about his injury claims that Tony Jones reported that Trac cancelled his media commitments for today. If Trac fails to prove his fitness for Friday who comes in to replace him?
  17. Just wanted to get your thoughts on Harmes' return to the side and his match and do you think he is best 22?
  18. I didn't watch Casey this week but see that Joel Smith kicked a goal. I had heard that he was training with the forwards so I take it that he played forward. Do you guys think he is a smokey to get a game this season as another forward option?
  19. Many clubs are using their subs, whether above board or not, to their advantage bringing on fresh legs late in the game. The Pies subbed out the underperforming Hoskin-Elliot. We seem to be on of those good guys clubs that haven't used this loophole. Do you think the Demons should have "found an injury" and perhaps substituted James Harmes into the game to give us some fresh legs?
  20. Honestly what else is Max going to say when asked about Jackson and his contract?
  21. I just can't see him staying at this point. If he was he would have signed already. My only question is will he still go if we aren't compensated well? That would be a souring point for me. I don't begrudge him wanting to go home but he needs to look after us too.
  22. Hey guys love the podcast. Listen every week. It's a staple of my footy weekend wrap up. Love the emotion and anxiousness from Andy that many of us feel, love the calmness and analysis of @binman and love the balance that @george_on_the_outer brings to the table. My question tonight is primarily for George but you all can jump in. George you, like myself, have questioned Melksham's role in the side particularly due to his lack of pressure. I agree also agree with Andy's analysis of the role of small/med forwards in that they have to bring something to the table and it's either got to be pressure in the form of tackles or pressure acts or you have to hit the scoreboard or be involved in scoring chains. With the exception of the Port game Melksham has been lacking in his pressure as was majorly evidenced in the Bulldogs game. Despite him not having any tackles on Friday night, and George I know that would have irked you, he did provide a leading option as small/medium on a wet night when the tall forwards weren't going to be marking. He hit the scoreboard with 1 goal and could easily have been 2 or 3 if not for some wayward kicking and was involved in 7 scoring chains. I reckon he is adding something to the forward line including a bit of mongrel and hardness. George can you see yourself embracing Melksham into the fold? Can you see him being a part of the team in September? If not who replaces him?
  23. It might not be a popular opinion and it might be too early but I'd roll the dice with Van Rooyen. What could go wrong playing a first gamer on Queen's Birthday.
  24. The restaurant is a newly fitted out restaurant in Greville St, Prahran. They would 100% have CCTV footage in the reception desk area where the cash register is and also outside the front door. If they do there is definitely footage of it and if the damage is as bad as they say it is ie: breaking the desk then why have we not seen the footage or a photo of the broken table? I'm sure the media outlets are salivating at the prospect of such footage emerging and would no doubt pay for it. Where is the footage or at the very least a photo of this damaged table? I'm not doubting that the table was broken but they seem so upset about it (and rightly so if damage has occurred with no apology) but nevertheless I'd like to see the damage that has caused the outrage.
  25. I think you meant Round 12 for Casey
