  1. Sorry but the ladder mostly and generally about right each year. Whether 10th 15 th or 18 th you are graded for the fixture the following year on a designed program formula as much as can be incorporated with local Derby's Q clashes and showdowns as well as marquee and blockbuster games. The Finsls then sorts out the best as you can't hide any more behind you home advantage like The Cats tend to do. With the higher sides bring the home teams that rewards excellence as a rule. I don't agree that the ladder is not a true reflection. It's W and L that count and we suffered in 2019 because we didn't win enough games. There are no asterisks attached to ladders or Flag winners so the runners are grinnetd and Rups and also tans c an please themselves.
  2. Well that is fact is it? We just get rid of Chandler Weid and Brsyshaw. First of all both Weid and Kade I believe are not out of contract till end id 2023. We know Angus'situation. Melky Baker and may be Hibbo to a rookie ( and a one year agsin but on a lower salary ) would be possible but surely we would retain Angus and Jacko with the coin from the difference in salary between the delisted players and new young draftees. This is terribly basic snd I am sure that the Club is well aware if it's situation. My point is how would we find money to pay for Amon for example but our Bean Counters/Footy Dept. are or seem to be on the job of recent times. We are in a good spot with our list due realistic contracts for our 6/8 stars or AA players so far however winning flags and the AFL policy and BPA will effect our Club differently no doubt in this potentially very successful era.
  3. Non members fo not get first option on tickets to Finals ( first 3 finals games not GFinal) but the usual ration of tickets up to 8 or 10 for Members I think allows tickets to be bought for non members ( Correct me if I am wrong there as I never have bought other than for members. Non members have to purchase when GAdmission tickets are on sale generally the next day. GF tickets are dominated by our GFG and then a ballot I think of members without the GFG, for the remaining allocation. The previous paragraph then is played out if any are remaining. Seems to me it would be easy to monitor the usage of Members tickets to keep a record for priority by the club for allocation in order.
  4. And we win!!!
  5. They didn't have the season that WC have and % wasn't in the low 50;s so the chitchat is entirely different.
  6. You have omitted our NT games and if you added then we would be about even. The AFL maybe taking that into account? Also if ladder positions are not reliable maybe percentage could be used or do you have another solution. Lucky Dip maybe?
  7. RPFC Have you actually have heard Angus say he prefers to play midfield and say since the premiership if he doesn't get his way he will leave and play elsewhere? I have not heard him say that and in fact more than ever he said it last week again after the Saints win that he is playing his role and that is what he is concentrating on. I have not heard ONCE yet that he has said he will leave. It is the minds of supporters (maybe very limited from the Press) that have have tried to put 2 and 2 together and are ending up with 5 perhaps. Same as others are indicating he wants more money and will leave also. I reckon he took a little convincing early last season that the wing was his position but once he was convinced he started calling it the Wingers Club. He now calls defense the Men's Club!!! I think we are blessed with Angus who goes under the radar and his footy is at the top of his game at the moment. Yes money and sometimes the grass is greener are motives but Angus has a much more rounded lifestyle and care about people more than anything I believe. He looks like a keeper to me but I might be reading the tea leaves wrong!!! PS I hope he doesn't leave as the any of the Brayshaws are top people and value Clubs and all values and things that make them great.
  8. Viney / Sparrow more alike

Laurie can play in other tiles I think on ball firward pocket and wing and may even do a Bowser and end up a small back man to stop opposition smalls getting goals.

No more of a willow the wisp type. But best is AFL standard no doubt.
  11. I was in Perth fir the GF and there was a very wide representation of Dees in the crowd with scarves etc. Bearing in mind that the Club made some excellent Adopt a Dee offer and all the Army had their gear handled by the Freo army behind the goals I believe. But I sat in an area of all Dees fans on the non members wing at ground level and most seemed rusted on or as locals going or got seats via our members for the game and had up to date scarves etc. I estimate at the GF at Optus that about 17/18,000 were in Dees colours and about 10/12,000 in Dogs.gear but the roar was definitely for us all day. ( except in the first half of that memorable third quarter) Hope some real Dees fans are there on Sunday. PS I live in Brisbane and had to spend 14 days in SA to gain entry over the border which I did on the Friday night beforehand. My fabulous cousins gave me a roderful time on SA centred in Adelaide most of the time. Was the most wonderful 3 weeks substitute for any overseas trip that I might have gone on that Covid of course. Prevented.
  12. At the G there would have to be some GA tickets left over for on the day or the opposition. We would need some Cotorie groups to attend more regularly so others are not restricted if the seats are not used. Say 10,000 for opposition for presale and 3,000 on the day. And any unsold from opposition by the Friday lunchtime go straight to GA tickets on that day or at the ground on the match day. At the Gabba Trust it's a walk up first in best dressed for members on match day or you can for $15 reserve your seat snd come whenever you like on the day. Seems to work well. A Limited number of Guest tickets (2 per member or group) can also be pre purchased by Trust members also for the day so you can have friends sit with you. Licensed or Non-licensed sections give members options of where to sit.
  13. That less time on ground could be still because of Riv's previous injury which he still is bandaging for support or confidence. it's a curly one and whoever or however it's solved will make us stronger at half back and wing or half forward. Not so sure Riv will just be discarded if he is not at half back some tweaking and experimentation may go on. Just shows how strong a group of players we have developed as all of these would walk into other sides quite easily I would bet.
  14. Sorry Stinga but you are not up to scratch with the situation. While Majak has been doing a fine job as first ruck at Casey every time Sam has played with him he has shared the tick duties snd did some in the AFL as well. He does do round the ground and all we ask is for a break even situation. Sam is quite ok marking behind the play and going up the ground also and it gets him into the game and not minded by the same defender all day. Majak would be fine also as he has trained For the ruck role for a season and half at least. Both contrary to your comment have the necessary fitness to cover the territory and you will get a support cameo from Tmac up forward as usual. Needless to say I reckon BBB might even attend a throwing or two just to mix things up. We will be fine.

Would think that we could fashion a Salem/ Daniel Rich role from half back or wing or even centre. With our superior development and coaching. Or would he be more damaging as a half forward?
  16. Shows how far our development and coaching programme has come Players are given time and confidence to attain their potential and of course the team is the winner. Not very many players can be like Clarry on the go from his first AFL game.

We haven't had a MothersDsy game for at least 5/6 seasons I don't think. You can't assume trains run on weekends and there was parking at the ground I assume today, which you could have used.
  18. 58er replied to rpfc's topic in Melbourne Demons
They would be lucky to get 25,000 in Aami Park nowhere near 35,000.
  19. That's what I have just pointed out that I didn't misquote him. But he made a general statement which you can't see could be intimating we will or might have lots of players traded or moved on'!! Ie. lots of changes on list he said. I disagreed and stated that I believe we won't lose any stars and that we have some changes each year eg Hibbo is a good chance but no stars will be off the list. Its you that are not interpreting some number of potential moves he is forecasting for the end of season. I am simply stating that IMO it won't be many and certainly not stars which I am quite entitled to state snd in doing so disagree!!
  20. Aren't I allowed to make a statement defining what type of players I think might be off our list for next year. With no specific type mentioned I am clarifying I don't foresee any / or hardly any of our STARS. So far our handling of all our players ( after a couple of overpayments in hindsight ) contracts has been both responsible concurrently looking towards the future. To make a bland statement that we will have list changes ( I suspect the inference is that it is due to salary cap tightness) on its own is ok but we always do have list alterations My statement was more about the situation that we won't be needing to lose numbers of vital and talented players willingly under this Board and its sensible process of recent times.
  21. You have misread my comment CF It was as a comparison to Tmac and his marking around the ground. Its not as bad as you say and is a work in progress as he is as a forward also. Some teams don't even play a second ruck or contest at times. Which would you rather?
  22. Yes AJ forgot about Melky Daw may even get another year .
  23. Disagree we won't be offloading our top players but a couple of lesser ability may have to be traded out due to team needs or retirement. Ie Hibbo initially.
