Membership Tally 2022
I was in Perth fir the GF and there was a very wide representation of Dees in the crowd with scarves etc. Bearing in mind that the Club made some excellent Adopt a Dee offer and all the Army had their gear handled by the Freo army behind the goals I believe. But I sat in an area of all Dees fans on the non members wing at ground level and most seemed rusted on or as locals going or got seats via our members for the game and had up to date scarves etc. I estimate at the GF at Optus that about 17/18,000 were in Dees colours and about 10/12,000 in Dogs.gear but the roar was definitely for us all day. ( except in the first half of that memorable third quarter) Hope some real Dees fans are there on Sunday. PS I live in Brisbane and had to spend 14 days in SA to gain entry over the border which I did on the Friday night beforehand. My fabulous cousins gave me a roderful time on SA centred in Adelaide most of the time. Was the most wonderful 3 weeks substitute for any overseas trip that I might have gone on that Covid of course. Prevented.

Membership Tally 2022
At the G there would have to be some GA tickets left over for on the day or the opposition. We would need some Cotorie groups to attend more regularly so others are not restricted if the seats are not used. Say 10,000 for opposition for presale and 3,000 on the day. And any unsold from opposition by the Friday lunchtime go straight to GA tickets on that day or at the ground on the match day. At the Gabba Trust it's a walk up first in best dressed for members on match day or you can for $15 reserve your seat snd come whenever you like on the day. Seems to work well. A Limited number of Guest tickets (2 per member or group) can also be pre purchased by Trust members also for the day so you can have friends sit with you. Licensed or Non-licensed sections give members options of where to sit.

Where does Gus play when Salem returns?
That less time on ground could be still because of Riv's previous injury which he still is bandaging for support or confidence. it's a curly one and whoever or however it's solved will make us stronger at half back and wing or half forward. Not so sure Riv will just be discarded if he is not at half back some tweaking and experimentation may go on. Just shows how strong a group of players we have developed as all of these would walk into other sides quite easily I would bet.

Gawn Knee Concerns
Sorry Stinga but you are not up to scratch with the situation. While Majak has been doing a fine job as first ruck at Casey every time Sam has played with him he has shared the tick duties snd did some in the AFL as well. He does do round the ground and all we ask is for a break even situation. Sam is quite ok marking behind the play and going up the ground also and it gets him into the game and not minded by the same defender all day. Majak would be fine also as he has trained For the ruck role for a season and half at least. Both contrary to your comment have the necessary fitness to cover the territory and you will get a support cameo from Tmac up forward as usual. Needless to say I reckon BBB might even attend a throwing or two just to mix things up. We will be fine.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs St Kilda
Shows how far our development and coaching programme has come Players are given time and confidence to attain their potential and of course the team is the winner. Not very many players can be like Clarry on the go from his first AFL game.

Low Attendance
We haven't had a MothersDsy game for at least 5/6 seasons I don't think. You can't assume trains run on weekends and there was parking at the ground I assume today, which you could have used.

Low Attendance
They would be lucky to get 25,000 in Aami Park nowhere near 35,000.

Farewell Luke Jackson
That's what I have just pointed out that I didn't misquote him. But he made a general statement which you can't see could be intimating we will or might have lots of players traded or moved on'!! Ie. lots of changes on list he said. I disagreed and stated that I believe we won't lose any stars and that we have some changes each year eg Hibbo is a good chance but no stars will be off the list. Its you that are not interpreting some number of potential moves he is forecasting for the end of season. I am simply stating that IMO it won't be many and certainly not stars which I am quite entitled to state snd in doing so disagree!!

Will the next 2 games hurt us?
- Farewell Luke Jackson
Aren't I allowed to make a statement defining what type of players I think might be off our list for next year. With no specific type mentioned I am clarifying I don't foresee any / or hardly any of our STARS. So far our handling of all our players ( after a couple of overpayments in hindsight ) contracts has been both responsible concurrently looking towards the future. To make a bland statement that we will have list changes ( I suspect the inference is that it is due to salary cap tightness) on its own is ok but we always do have list alterations My statement was more about the situation that we won't be needing to lose numbers of vital and talented players willingly under this Board and its sensible process of recent times.- TEAMS: Rd 08 vs St. Kilda
You have misread my comment CF It was as a comparison to Tmac and his marking around the ground. Its not as bad as you say and is a work in progress as he is as a forward also. Some teams don't even play a second ruck or contest at times. Which would you rather?- Farewell Luke Jackson
Yes AJ forgot about Melky Daw may even get another year .- Farewell Luke Jackson
Disagree we won't be offloading our top players but a couple of lesser ability may have to be traded out due to team needs or retirement. Ie Hibbo initially.- TEAMS: Rd 08 vs St. Kilda
Sydney Demon, To say that Tmac is a liability in defence is both incorrect and IMO misjudging his role in Round1 and 7. Tommy has got some height and bulk snd skill to play on a a 200cm forward when Maysie May struggle and Petty is either absent or on another task. It's the flexibility of Tmac that is a great advantage whether he plays forward back or stints on the ball. When comparing Sam whose ruck work is superior snd his marking around the ground more at least equal at this stage of his development. I believe we are giving Sam an inside run to improve and grab a spot in the forward line and as a second/third ruck. Tmac provides bulk and more crumbing options and is a more rounded footballer than Sam at the moment but by the end of the season we don't know? Both players are not 20 plus disposal machines so it's matter of which plays their role and fits in team wise as to who may be the preferred option. 2022 will be interesting for this and many questions who mashed up our7 defenders etc. We are fortunate to have multiple options at our disposal and the jury is out on both our attack and defence at this stage.- Why Petracca, Oliver & Gawn could be best Demons yet
He has already "cleaned it up " a lot in the last 2 seasons. He is now fast paced out of packs runs through gaps and looks right snd left and directs the ball to a player by short or long kicks. Yes he kicks for length also and cleverly kicks a long sort of torp which covers the ground quickly. Robbie did not have any apparent weaknesses but there are a dozen pieces of play per match that I am certain Clarry does that even Robbie may not have been capable of inside the hurly burly of midfielders skill set. That's because Robbie played wing HFF and occasionally FP or perhaps a cameo in the centre. Granted he could find space in a phone box and was clever enough to go unchecked. The Roles are different and both could/can go forward and kick goals which Clarry has added to his game. We have to acknowledge also both players durability as neither have bulging physique. Putting it in a word I would say Robbie is the Artist and Clarry is the Craftsman. Both magnificent in full flight to watch. Clarry Will at the end of his career have influenced snd played in probably at least 2/3 times as many wins snd of course through a wonderfully successful era. That does count for some credits over the journey. I also believe that Clarry competes as fiercely for the ball like no other player has ever done in a red and blue jumper. Watch him in the last quarter of a close game and he simply refuses to give his opponents a sniff if it's humanly possible. Who will ever forget when he was tackled at the centre bounce in the third quarter of the GF by multiple Bulldogs and Daisy highlighted this action I'm getting his kick away towards CHF. Similarly Robbies game at Western Oval in the last round of 1987 was so typical of his determination and skill as he hit the scoreboard after half time to ensure we won and played in the Finals after 23 years in the wilderness. Take your pick both champions and either one is a winner as well as the fans at our Club having the privilege of watching either both or one of them.- The top 5 MFC coaches of your lifetime
Put Smithy on top of Goody and that's my order. 1958to 2022. BTW the worst was Neeld.- Rejuvenating My Best 22?
At the moment Sam Tmac or Daw are quite adequate. No need to panic as a good all round footballer is better in depth than a youngster learning that craft. You only need to remember the Kings, and more recently the basketballers son. It's not hard to pick up decent ruckman as third banana in any of the drafts these days and by nature they switch to Clubs where that will get match play. Thats why a Daw or similar or Weid or Tmac are sufficient mostly.- Jake Bowey Rising Star #2
Should be "Omly debit compared to Sam"- Jake Bowey Rising Star #2
If Bowey was placed in the centre and played a Sam Mitchell type game he would challenge the best no doubt. Only debit on Sam is I can't remember him ever kicking left foot yet.! I am hdppy him playing where it's best fit our team as he has never let us down yet .- Low Attendance
Sorry You commented on another post should have put his name on this post sincere apologies- CHANGES : Rd 08 vs St. Kilda
