Seems a bit simplistic for mine. Could always package together 2nd rounders & trade our future first. There's no doubt we'd be able to provide at least a somewhat comparable offer as Carlton. All depends how desperate we are for him.

Beating a team 3 times in a season actually gets easier the longer you go when it's a side with Jeelong's list demographic. Dangerfield (20) & Selwood (14) only combined for 34 touches against GWS, who were terrible all day. Parfitt out now is the cherry on top. We're capable of dominating the midfield battle this week.

Jeelong looked terrible tonight in their grandfinal. It was very fortunate they were only playing an injury riddled (yet still [censored]) version of GWS. The umpires had their Toby Greene revenge game too which assisted the Cats. Dangerfield & Selwood only combined for 34 touches - they're cooked. Dees by 40 odd if we're inaccurate, which the chance of a 10+ goal win if we've got the kicking boots on.
I don't get the vibe he's particularly strong on Carlton as a destination, either.
Wouldn't be totally shocked if we traded out a Harmes to GCS, or a Sparrow to Adelaide if we won the flag, in order to bundle up some picks. Just a gut feel...
Much of Cerra's perceived value is weighted on the fact he was pick 5 a few years ago. I'd give up a 2nd rounder & our 2022 first rounder for him, but highly doubt Freo accepted when Carlton will offer more. With that being said, if he does nominate Melbourne, their hand may be forced to accept a lower return?
Jordan Dawson? Cap squeeze on at the Swans, probably cheaper picks wise than Cerra too?

Here's a leftfield idea. Trade fringe players into necessary picks to acquire Cerra, not core 22 players.
I think people might be underselling what we could offer trade wise. We have a couple of 2nd rounders, if we trade Weid, that could become 3x second rounders. We'd be able to use some of those picks to package up to a side that needs points like the dogs, in exchange for their 1st rounder. As well as our 2022 1st round pick. It'd be convoluted but we'd figure something out without trading a player of significance out imo.
