  1. (Hawthorn vs Geelong) Geelong win is very important, hawthorn have harder run home and so if they lose against Geelong and lose to Sydney in the last round, they could possibly miss out, Geelong on the other hand have a very easy run home with their last two games at home against freo and gold coast. this leads me to believe that Geelong will make the 8 easily provided they win today and Hawthorn could miss out. a draw would be the worst possible scenario, that means both clubs could move ahead of us is we lose, worst possible scenario.
  2. this is very good for us, as I explained in an earlier post, a Geelong win is imperative.
  3. (Hawthorn vs Geelong) Geelong win is very important, hawthorn have harder run home and so if they lose this and lose to Sydney in the last round, they could possibly miss out, Geelong on the other hand have a very easy run home with their last two games at home against freo and gold coast and will easily make the 8. (Gold coast vs Richmond) does not matter but Richmond will probably win (power vs eagles) eagle win is also very important, port is on 48 with us and we can't catch up to the Eagles so we could possibly pull away from port should they lose. (Collingwood vs Brisbane) Brisbane win if possible but doubt it will happen, this is because Collingwood is on the same points as us and has a toughish run home (giants vs crows) definitely want the crows to win, crows are unlikely to make the 8 and yet they still have 'belief'. giants are only 2 points ahead so we could also pull ahead of them. (north vs bulldogs) we want bulldogs to win but again is unlikely, they are a game outside the 8 although have an easy run home so if the bulldogs win it is all but season over for north. (melbourne vs sydney) up the mighty dees! don't need to say much about this game, every MFC fan and player knows what needs to happen here, come on dees! (freo vs carlton) does not matter very interesting week of football, lets hope some results fall our way this week unlike last week.
  4. we may be able to shut down buddy, but some other no name, Wayne carey like forward will have a bag. always happen to melbourne
  5. Frost will go straight to buddy, omac will go to mccartin, pedo has no use down back. hunt is a welcome inclusion (hopefully he emulates form of 2017) still struggling to see why Bernie got omitted...
  6. i doubt they would put TMAC back considering he has not played in the backline for a while. would be very surprised if they did. (more likely pedo to buddy then tmac to buddy)
  7. you are probably right when you say Wagner over hunt, Wagner played well in the early stages of this year and your right about not bringing in hunt who is returning from a big injury. what do you reckon about pedo in the backline?
  8. In: Hunt, Melksham Out: J Smith (inj), JKH Frost to buddy (OMAC won't have a drop of confidence against another good tall forward), Harmes to jack, parker, kennedy etc... (whoever needs a good tag)
  9. 6. Oliver 5. Harmes 4. Hogan 3. Brayshaw 2. Petracca 1. Gawn
  10. i thought we did not play our best footy in the second and third q's and yet we still managed to beat them by 96 points. Says a lot about the caliber of our team and their ability to get the job done albeit against horrible opposition. Hogan was really good and stood up when usually being double teamed. TMAC was inconsistent in front of goal and generally did not have much of an impact, wondering if his injury from earlier in the season is troubling him. mids were reliable and damaging as useful, gus, clarry, max, Harmes were all brilliant. Vanders did not do a whole lot in his return but did enough to keep his spot i reckon. backline was rarely troubled although it was annoying that sexton kicked 5. that was a must win (by at least 60 points) and we stood up and are continuing to make our name for ourselves as a finals contender. big game next week against Sydney and it is a game both players and fans alike are all looking forward to. Come on dees!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Round 19 2016 Melbourne vs Gold Coast nearly lost when we should have beaten them by a lot more than 2 points. i know we have changed and matured a lot since then but gee i hope not to see a repeat.
  12. James Harmes is going to have a big day as a tagger, oh wait, there is no one to tag. Come on Dees!
  13. I want this to be true but the amount of times i can remember the dees getting complacent before 'easy' matches and then stuffing up is too overwhelming. I hope that the demons of old don't turn up at the ground today and as you say we do emerge as a premiership threat.
  14. is anyone else not confident? (regardless of the fact that we are home playing a 17th placed team without both of their captains)
  15. both of these games are gonna make things difficult but for once lets take our destiny into our own hands and stop worrying about the results of other teams. Come on Dees!
  16. (Richmond vs cats) starting off the week with a richmond win which is what we wanted! (hawthorn vs essendon) we want essendon to win. they have a very hard run home including tigers at the g and port at Adelaide oval and on the other hand Hawthorn have an easier run home and they are competing with us for one of the bottom four finals spots. (lions vs North) we want the lions to win as again north are competing with us for one of the bottom four finals spots. (crows vs port) crows to win however it it is unlikely (st kilda vs bulldogs) does not matter (sydney vs pies) if we win we want Sydney to win and if we lose we want the pies to win (carlton vs GWS) we want carlton to win this however that is very unlikely (dess vs suns) come on dees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (west coast vs freo) freo to win but at the end of the day won't effect us that much interesting week of football...
  17. Rest hogan for a week and bring in Tim smith (Hibberd for Joel Smith when ready/Viney for JKH when ready) JKH and Smith both did enough to keep their spot for now however Viney and Hibberd are both better options when they have both gotten over their respective injuries.
  18. 6. Oliver 5. Gawn 4. Harmes 3. Tyson 2. Frost 1. Petracca
  19. not confident, especially travelling to Adelaide and being subjected to corrupt umpiring. OMAC due for a big game to redeem himself after a horrendous performance on Hawkins last week. it's time for this club to stand up and prove to themselves that they can go deep into September and take a scalp. I've got the crows by 12 but i'll be barracking hard tonight in front of the TV! Go Dees!
  20. Congrats Dom, you are by far my favourite player and I hope to see you continue in the red and blue in 2019. while you have not had the best year, i still think you are a great inside mid and it is says a lot about the depth of our list if you have not been able to get a game consistently. I hope you get three Brownlow votes this week after a massive performance. Go Dees!
  21. 6. oliver 5. Tmac 4. petracca 3. Harmes 2. Fritsch 1. Frost
  22. If Goodwin says "its a game of small margins" i might go and rip up my membership.
  23. absolutely gutted, can't believe we could choke that hard considering the dominance we showed in the third quarter, borderline tears on the couch after the final kick, we were the better team all day and deserved to win. I can't believe they continue to disappoint their fans after everything we have been through. next week......
