Farewell Jesse Hogan
Under no circumstances should we accept anything less than 300 pages

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Do you have any evidence to support this?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Not as if it's going swimmingly right at this moment In my mind it's becoming more clear that Melbourne has pushed for a trade (now), Freo holding the cards, we're nearing the point of no return - when it's publicly stated that Hogan prefers to leave At that point, it's take Freo's offer or a 12 month circus

Unfortunately we can't say, "you can have it now for $X, otherwise I've got Mr and Mrs WCE on their way in to take it for a drive and they're bringing their cheque book, first in best dressed"

Farewell Jesse Hogan
My read in the situation is that there won't be a decision from Jesse until there is a deal done (in the background). There is no way we'd want a situation where he decides to go and a deal can't be done, or we get screwed down after his preference becomes public and there's no going back. So what's happening then: - Jesse happy to go - Freo waiting for some reason, good situation is just until Neale deal finalised and confirm the picks they'll give us. Bad situation is they've taken a step back due to posturing, or worse preference for Lobb, or catastrophically Jesse's foot - Melbourne powerless to do anything until Freo sorts out it's shyte We'll be waiting for a few days yet I reckon...

Indeed Imagine the embarrassment if this thread reaches 200 pages only for Jesse to recommit to the Demons

Cockburn We've covered that, but in the interest of this thread reaching 200 pages before the trade period starts, worth another going over

I may have been crude and I apologise, however I can't accept the premise of your argument as the converse is equally true "Let's say hypothetically.... win a flag" is great but no one knows if that happens or doesn't or if May impacts it or not or if Hogan would have impacted or wouldn't have so we need an objective measure to guide today's decision today Hogan > 5 > May ... and there are evidence points supporting this

It's all going to be OK because we'll never know the direct outcome of the trade (or at least for years) is a load of s#1t argument. Just trust our guys they've had a few good years doesn't hold water... Past performance is no indication of future performance. You can only manage what you measure. Hence the AFL introducing points ratings to stop incompetent trading. And we all know we have a gun, we know what we paid in picks, we know what others have paid similarly in picks and trades, so there's plenty of points of comparison which have all been laid out in this thread. So if we accept one pick (be it 5 or 6 traded for May or not) for Hogan it is an unquestionable failure!

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
I'm bitterly disappointed to be losing The Beast. Coupled with Tyson and Kent, I'd say that we've lost 3 of our best 26 (leaving the Hogan circus aside for a moment) While each had their stengths and weaknesses, they were potential best 22 or at least great depth coverage in a case of one injury on their respective lines. We need to see some genuine, ready made players added to our list to cover these losses, and I'm not convinced Kolodjashnij or Colyer are it
