  1. They had the manikins out and spread in an arc from boundary to boundary, it was all about set shots. I think, each group rotated into this set up 3 or 4 times during the session. The end they used had them kicking into the wind. In the ball movement drills, the forwards all finished with snaps at, or on the run goals. I noticed that May and Rivers had a competitive edge to their goaling, by keeping score, and the associated sledging.
  2. They all appeared to be moving well and barely any strappings on them. Oliver needed the asthma puffer at one stage. The wind must have been blowing in the pollen.
  3. They were very sharp today. As you said, "With a shorter break the focus should be right on this week." At times the ball didn't spill. They adjusted really well to the windy conditions. Even the goal kicking, which they did a fair bit of, was good.
  4. Their pattern seems to be, day before game Saturday, Captain's Run, two days before that is the main session (Thursday) and two days before that is the post game review (Tuesday, but could be Monday). Fly Friday? I assume they will get another extended break after the Thursday night, Geelong game. Again all speculation, though habits and routine suggests this structure.
  5. Hibbo has prepared like this before and still found himself in the team. Bowey would also be out of concussion protocols. Petty was doing a little bit of forward work today at training. There wasn't much backline preparation out there, though May spent a fair bit of time working with D.Turner.
  6. Rehab: BBB, TMac, Hibbo (the three in runners and no involvement in the main training) and K Turner (doing his own program). Oliver, Petty and Verrall with the main group in full training. Bowey, has the "white hat" on, though is having a full session. Tough conditions (windy), that they are handling well. Plenty of noise as they support and call each other, they remain professional as they perform, then more relaxed during the ends of drills. After warm ups and small drills, they split into two groups, with rotations into each station. First was goal kicking, the other was handball in tight areas until the whistle, then they clear and make a ball entry into the fifty. They used left/right wing, and centre area, as the starting place. Emphasis, on spread and delivery. Several rotations into the goal kicking and midfield set up drills. They finish with a little bit of running, though not too much. Petty, Trac and Sparrow last to leave.
  7. I don't watch or listen to too many broadcasts. Gee, that type of action happens all the time. Ball was in the vicinity, a tackle looked possible, but the ball may come loose, and we had been pinned for continuing the tackle earlier in the game. Sharp hit and ready to collect the loose ball. Crucial period and Salem cannot give a free (no intention). Unlucky it got him on a soft spot, probably on the end of the sternum or a rib. MFC players often cop those hits to our heads. Given the concussion litigation, isn't that one the one they need to get out of the game?
  8. Especially since, just before this, Trac got pinged for pushing in the back, which resulted in a Woods goal, when he appeared to turn his opponent who didn't attempt to dispose of the ball, but exaggerated his forward movement and Tracc got a check on the way down. Poor consistency, but what to expect!
  9. Just finished watching the replay. Savoured the live game memories. Great 3rd quater, the last 15 minutes and 4th quarter. Playing hard footy, causing turnovers, holding the lead, using tempo footy, our running when offence and defence, working well in small and closed areas. Thought ANB in that period (late 3rd and 4th) was almost best on the ground, hassle, run and disposals. Don't know what some are talking about. Smith's game, when it counted, gave us exit and scoring opportunities. Tomlinson and JJ also at "it". How's Sparrow's endurance, wow? How did we miss those set shots in the last, Smith, Pickett and Fritta. Got to fix that up, ice the game, and take the easy ones. Thought we had the Woods playing the man and not the ball. Vines in the last 30 seconds, has amazing will. Umpires nearly got them home. Trac needs Clayton back, I think the work load was getting to him. Loved our desperation and game plan. Interesting that a few of us left the replay watching till now.
  10. I think you're right. Tracc plays his footy in the "right spirit". Just looking at the if's and maybe's. I would also add Petty and Sparrow to the list.
  11. I've noticed Tracc being a grumpy of late. Hope he got under the skin of Cox. If he is going to be a protector and enforcer, look out opponents. Much less smiles and how you do's, more "go to war" at the appropriate time.
  12. You could be right about no weekends, I don't know. I expect that the week leading up to the match is of the normal routine type.
  13. Not sure if Monday would be their start date. I assume Saturday would be their post match review day, and Monday for the main training at Casey.
  14. Does anyone know how long the break for the bye will be and how they plan to use it?
  15. Great coaching. Stopped their inside change of angle, balls. Amazed by some of our reading of that play. Our pressure was there for the 4 quarters. They were so confused about how to play against our structures. Playing the game in the forward area, with the defenders intercepting or halving their rebound, forced that. They had to use the boundaries most of the time when they had it. Hard and desperate footy. Late in the 1st quarter we started taking control and answered their goals, so they didn't get too far away from us. Was worried when we hit the front, that the Woods would start going harder. They didn't or couldn't find that gear. Good hard game, had them hearing steps, and double guessing themselves. Forcing the other to play ugly, which they aren't used to. We will win ugly, with smiles on our faces.
  16. At the end of the game, JJ was running laps, and Oliver and Woewodin were doing some running, loading and ball work in the middle of the "G". Great signs, Oliver must have been close. I imagine he was up in the coaches box learning some finer points of the KB game.
  17. Goody has also introduced a bit of vernacular into the lexicon of the AFL, like, brand, connection, corridor, process. The modern coach, which Goody has had a hand in developing and exemplifies, keeps a cool exterior, is focused on the positive, treats his players as adults, and empathises family inclusion as much as possible.
  18. You'd think if Woey was in as a sub, there would be a bit more of a build up. I imagine his dad would be presenting the jersey, or at least hanging around the club. JJ as sub, Woey as emergency.
  19. Sometimes I need to close and open the app, to make sure it is recognising the chromecast signal. Goodluck.
  20. I can only get the AFL live to cast VFL, when I use the app and not the website. The other way is to screen mirror. Try and download the "AFL live" app. The little tv type icon in the top right corner, starts the cast menu, when you watch live the game selected.
  21. Good news. He is there. Sorry @Redleg
  22. No, is not Hibbo at training. @Redleg Pardon, Hibbo is at training. He must have snuck on late.
  23. They are set up, just waiting for the players. The wingers are first out. Gus, Langdon, Hunter, Woewodin, JJ. Next, travelling by himself Grundy. The group follows, Lever, Max, Tomlinson, May, Spargo, Pickett, JVR, Fritta, J.Smith, ANB, Chandler, Viney, Rivers, McVee, Pettracca, Sparrow, Hibberd and Salem. Broken into their lines. Gus is with the mids, as is Woey and JJ. Max is with the fwds. Grundy's brother has jumped the fence and giving him some "pointers" as he lines up for goal kicking. Two other family members are also down here for support.
  24. Good test for Adams.
  25. Pretty sure the 7+ app doesn't stream the AFL games. (I think they are changing next year and may stream.) @ElDiablo14
