  1. Thanks to Binman & co. for the education on loading. Even after Geelong admit it over the weekend, virtually zero acknowledgement on the impact in games from commentators. Demons go from 10-0 to lose 3 in a row with massive drop in last quarters and nothing from analysts. Losing multiple talls in each game and nothing much said, May coming back not much said, Max going out huge! Analysis really is average when there are so many reporters and experts! A big opportunity for someone to provide real insight. We are fortunate to get some great insight on Demonland, if Binman & co had the FD insider knowledge, it would take it to another level. Still after all said and read, feeling very good about Demons, just make top 4 with a healthy list, and we will be looking good at a great shot for back to back!
  2. Some Demonlanders want their cake and eat it, without taking the time and effort to bake it! So we finally win our flag last year after 57 years - and it was fantastic, who will ever forget those 7 3rd qtr goals, particularly the last 3 in 32 secs, just unbelievable! The expectation by many is only a flag will do in 2022. But two critical factors influence every season in luck and injuries. Finishing top 4 should be the expectation and then fingers crossed, as best team doesn’t always win - Tigers 2018 Mason Cox plays one of four good games in career & Dusty injured! As you have tried to explain many times(thanks) loading impacts performance in season, but benefits come during finals (as stated yesterday by Scott)! Add in in game injuries and illness over the last 3 weeks and the dramatic drop off in the last quarter due to loading, losses understandable! Fingers crossed on the injury front, 3 wins out of 9 make the eight and maybe only 5 make top 4, let’s hope for better. But if we can find our best from last years finals, there isn’t any one who will beat us from what I’ve seen this year! Loading is just part of the baking! Go Demons!!
  3. Dogs really do get a golden run from the umps, can drop it or throw it as they like!!
  4. Jordan has improved but he is too slow moving the ball forward. Rarely takes first option, then after waiting usually kicks it long down the line!
  5. Sparrow struggling at moment so rather than replacing Spargo, Hunt might be worth a stint in forward combined with what he has leant in defence. Still see Hunt in the backline, but might help revamp forward line!
  6. DerWayne viewer appeal is one of the world’s modern mysteries!
  7. Many Demonlander posters are glass half empty types and like a good self flagellation!
  8. Why - all the reporters / analysts go Demons loading nothing to see, just wait 3-4 weeks and they’ll be back! vs headlines: - Freo on fire - Demons can be taken apart - Swans on fire - no May no Demons! - Pies pies pies Cox Cox Cox - Demons are done their flaws exposed - fighting amongst one another blah blah blah!
  9. 3 weeks running we’ve lost a few of our talls for part of the game - it hurts! 3 weeks running we’ve stopped to a walk in the last. 3 weeks running probably 6/7 connection going forward has been less than average. 3 weeks running possibly longer we seem to have left the middle of the ground open, as Pies went through middle most of the game. in 3 weeks May has played 15 mins football! A few steps I would take is resettle the backline: Lever. May(don’t be a dh). Hibberd Salem Petty. Brayshaw.or Bowey (Rivers or Hunt as 7th defender) Bowey or Brayshaw on wing (push Jordan forward - he is getting a lot of it but too slow to move ball forward) Also Bowey better disposal & vision Clarrie & Langdon Jordan Weideman (6 weeks it’s yours just bl..Dy take it) Fritsch Pickett. BBB. Spargo Max Trac Viney ANB. Jacko Harmes. Rivers or Hunt Tomlinson. Or Sparrow (out of form, being caught to often) medi sub
  10. Did you watch the finals last year against the best teams?
  11. Just settle on the MFCSS. Demons can lose today and we will still be on top! Freo lost May in game, Trac was crook & shouldn’t have played, then Petty went down, and we got run over with structure out, plus Langdon missed which also hurt structurally! Last week 5 back, a few looked a little rusty, zero goals from turnover, which is very unusual and still took two poor umpiring decisions to finish us off. Yes, forward line out of sorts particularly BBB, but it happened last year. Don’t hit panic stations yet. We timed things perfectly last year, have some faith! Go Demons, demolish the filth!
  12. Would accept a one point win would love a 10 goal win. Buckley as a coach had the wood on Goody, hopefully new coach sees A better result for Demons. Be great to see one of our Browns or Spargo/Kozzie kick 3 or 4! Go Demons!!
  13. Yes, looking forward to Monday's game, and attending Presidents (pies unfortunately) lunch as a guest wearing my Premiers cap! I think aside from being reigning premiers, we will still be on top 10-2 after our slump🤦🏻‍♂️!
  14. Move onto Monday arvo, win by eight goals and shut everyone up! Then by Tuesday, reflection will be: The team has cone together United and back in business! error above cone would be for Dogs come for Demons!
  15. Fair comment. Swans 8 goals from turnovers last week, Demons none, we get 3 which isn’t a lot and we win! Not scoring from turnovers isn’t really backline, more mids & forwards. Week before backline under siege! Handy to drop 2 and still be a game on top. Let’s stop the rot this week with a win. Haven’t got a great record vs Pies recently but a different team with McCrae as coach!
  16. Stop it, your talking sense! Can’t you tell - The sky is falling….. I looked at the ladder turned my phone upside down and we’re on the bottom! Yes, we’re playing average football and still only just got beaten. Last two goals were from putrid frees, and Fritsch doesn’t not score from that shot in the last very often! Prelim and healthy is the aim!
  17. Credit to Freo, they combined exceptionally well once they got on top. A few factors to consider: - Melbourne got absolutely belted off the ball against Eagles & Roos (why we got more frees in that game), causing Langdon to miss and most players would have been sore! - losing Langdon had a massive impact on run, defense and transition - losing TMac impacted strength & competitiveness up forward, and in Q3 & 4 would have helped down back (Weid was very disappointing, needs to get moving, because in packs he seems invisible, he took a brilliant grab when he ran and jumped) - losing May & Petty left us totally exposed in the air down back, meaning more players trying to spoil, so if Dockers didn’t mark they had more players on ground. You can just cover one tall going down, but two is a bridge to far without TMac in team. Led to backline losing all shape during the third. - Trac crook and should have missed, just added to lack of run and hurt us in the middle - Melksham has played some really good footy for the Demons over his time at the club, but looks really slow and uncompetitive, would be surprised to see him play too many more games if any. - Jordan gets ball enough but needs to take first option. - Missed a few get shots in first half that could have put us six up at halftime, and then others in the third, that would have made result a lot tighter. - Even best team will lose a few, so not a lot to worry about, unless injuries mount. Can always remember Choco Williams on radio when he was out of system being interviewed and saying absolute rubbish about one soldier replacing another, e.g. if player 1-5 goes out and being replaced by players 23-27 of course it makes you worse! - Bit of luck also helps, e.g. Buddy out next week makes a big difference, helps with May being out. - Were still 10-1, hopefully get a couple back next week (TMac helps structure), Trac fit and a good chance against Swans - watched Tigers vs Swans and a pretty average standard of a game. Go Demons, onwards and upwards, still got to wear my Demons 2021 Premiers cap on morning coffee walk today, Goodwin and team know what it takes to be Premiers!! Fingers crossed on injuries!!
  18. Your analysis of the Demons is better than 98% of the so called experts. A few obvious reasons why: 1. Intelligence to follow the original & best football team!!😃 2. Dedication to analysing the Demons, other than MFC FD you spend a lot of time on our Demons, much more than most of the experts spreading their time across 18 teams! 3. Intellect and analytical capabilities of the highest order! Light years beyond Brereton, King, Corne, Riewoldt etc. Also very funny to see some of the analysts who don’t like Melbourne, still can’t admit after one of the most dominant finals & flag winner season, it’s Melbourne then a huge gap. 4. Craig Jennings last year and Buckley this year both see Demons huge advantage over other teams, starting with team defence, then actual backline, transition once again a team activity, and offense locking it in so repeat opportunity to score while opposition stuck defending, as you mentioned above. Thanks Binman for your time, effort and commitment to the cause, you add enjoyment to my following of the Demons! Honourable mentions to Andy & George!! To all those who love talking up the threats from the rest, focus on the following: - read Binmans analysis - rewatch last years finals and the GF - look at the ladder - finals is what matters (getting into ladder position 1 or 2 helps) - remember Blues, Lions and all the other pretenders haven’t done what Melbourne did last years final series. - Lions are a very good team as they were last year, we beat them by 33 points, 4 goals 9 points , 13 more shots, should have been 10 goals in the finals, and are still well ahead of them. In fact Hunt playing small lockdown role do well, puts them further behind. - Blues have some star power, But are 47% behind us, it is huge. Re practice match, that was lovely for their delusional supporters, see how they go in finals. Demons have nothing to prove, we are reigning premiers, 10-0 on top of ladder, some absolute guns in our team, good depth, players commit to role and way of playing selflessly for the team, everyone else is playing catch up! Generally on commentators, they know their audience don’t want to hear, Demons are 5 goals better than the rest, and only way we don’t win flag is a bad day in September, like Tigers in 2018 prelim, but that’s the reality! After 50 pretty crap years, some exceptionally crap, sit back enjoy the ride, even when we only win by a couple of goals, can’t play great every week! Go Demons, crush those Dockers, but the four points and any margin is still a great day!!
  19. Belonging, success, enjoyment, being a leader all count for a lot. I think he’s Max son George godfather, in Gus & Gawny, will pick up a media gig when he finishes playing!! While money is important, he will be looked after by Demons, yes could get more somewhere else, but likely having the time of his life at he Demons today. He will stay!
  20. Fortunately read the comments first, so won’t waste my time listening. Dermie hates Melbourne and can’t accept or see what’s obvious. We are a long way ahead of rest of competition, that’s why we are two games clear, and destroyed Lions, Cats & Dogs in last year finals. Andy Maher is harmless, talks too much, thinks Carlton are it. Just forgetting about last years finals , and doesn’t notice that 47% difference is quite a lot. Carlton is circa Demons of 2018, they do have some excellent players in Cripps, Curnow, McKay, Weitering, & Walsh. Max, Clarry, Trac, May, Lever, Salem, Langdon, Brayshaw are all A+ for position they play and our bottom 6 are still very solid.
  21. In soccer you see the poor teams stack all their players back, to make it really difficult for the better teams to score. Then they try and break away for a lucky goal and win. Fortunately in the AFL this type of approach typically can only minimise the damage. This is what the Demons are running into against the weaker teams. Winning 17 in a row is terrific and we will drop a few games between now and the end of the season. But we know from last year our method and team play sensational finals football. As Goodwin stated last year finals football is a new season and we have proven we can do it! To the sky is falling brigade, let’s see what the Lions, Blues, Freo, Saints can bring come finals time. Tigers can play finals football but they aren’t the team they were!! Go Demons!!
  22. A few supporters are hard to please. Early 80s at the G you would only go to watch Robbie! 1st year of Roos and pre Roos there were some horrible losses and we didn’t win to often. We have a great team, who play fantastic team football, with some generational players, who have delivered a flag and taken us to 10-0! So for crying out loud…….Enjoy Every Win! Keep going Demons!!!!
  23. 4 points & 10 plus goals would be enjoyable watching!!
