The North loss today effectively gave us a triple chance. We just blew the first one.
If we lose all 3 it will make Round 23 last season look like nothing.
I hate to admit it but Mark Robinson’s assessment of MFC is spot on. We can’t be trusted!

More important..... Who's our shot on goal coach?
Appalling routines and skills for set shots!
How did these players survive through junior ranks with these set shot routines?
Oh I forgot, they had great beep tests!!

If we have a goal kicking coach, sack him!
if we don’t have a goal kicking coach, hire one tomorrow.
Our set shots are disgraceful
Agree. Hire one of the traditional full forwards from the era when full forwards kicked goals. We need a kicking coach urgently.

The highest scoring team in the league needs an overhaul of the forward coaching.
Right.
How’s that working out for us???

No leadership. Jones, Gawn, Lewis, TMac have shown very little.
Harmes, VD Berg look like the only ones that care.
They look deer in the headlights!

agree with this post 100%. I'm almost at the point where i'd prefer them to learn some harsh lessons again. even in the off season i was one of the rare people that didnt buy into the 'we're breathing fire after missing out on finals by 0.5%' notion. i've adopted the 'i'll believe it when i see it' notion.
I don’t either. It is just a job to them. Supporters are the ones who have been invested in the club for decades.

Spot on! In earlier, real football days, the hum and atmospheric feel was an absolute pleasure with which to interact or just merely soak up.
That’s why I go to the local football instead. The player’s skills aren’t as good but the game and the day out is much more enjoyable.

This is where Gil has completely stuffed up with our game, he's too American minded.
Exactly. We are a generation that has time(kids are grown up) and have $$ to attend games or subscribe to Foxtel.
I do neither because they have “butchered the game” and the overall experience.

State of the Game : is ShizenHouzen
I have not been able to watch full games in one sitting for years now, and have to watch most on replay so I can slow or speed up, as needs be, to workout whats happening and why.
The game does not suit older people as their eye sight changes... either at the game, or on TV.
* We can't see which player is playing where, or on who.
* The AFL commission needs at least one commissioner over the age of 58 Yrs..... to represent those the younger commissioners do not understand.
* The TV stations ought to sack any commentators who want to chat amongst themselves instead of calling the play... and cutout the condescending explanations of the games hidden points.
* put some non player commentators in place who are in awe of the game,,, instead of past players and their EGO's....
* remove 2 players from the interchange bench, over a 2 year period.
* Stop missing the centre bounces with mindless replays.
Agree. There is a whole generation of older people (me included) who cannot watch the current game.
As for actually attending a game, not interested. Pre game rubbish is too American. Dozens and dozens of ex players pretending to be experts on the ground pre match and at breaks shoving a microphone in anybody’s face that will let them. Crap.
Then to cap it off we have social engineering messages rammed down our throats on the scoreboard!!
So either way the game has lost me. I’m not watching on TV or paying to attend games.

I agree Jim, the draw needs serious attention. Gone are the days of the fair draw where every team played each other at home and away, that’s when it was fair. The AFL has grown too quickly . I’m not sure how they’d ever fix it now with 18 teams. Maybe a two tier comp then top 4 of each play finals. It’s never happen though. I hate the fixture, it favours Collingwood and has for years and now Richmond, how could their draw be so easy after a flag? Makes ya wonder this whacky administration sometimes. Bring back Demetriou
* Collingwood and Richmond will play far too many games at the MCG.
.* Collingwood, Essendon and Hawthorn will again NOT get scheduled to play at Geelong..
* MFC will continue to sell home games to the NT proving that $ are more important than 4 points. Don’t complain then if we miss the finals by 4 points. We won both games this year but the recovery was poor.
* MFC will be scheduled to play too many games at Etihad/Marvel (whatever it is called).
* AFL will continue to schedule games at the ridiculous time of 3.20pm on Sundays in Melbourne in July.
* More Thursday night games needed.

School boy stuff really, a years worth of learning in 2 minutes, lets hope we learn from all our mistakes from that last quarter.
Players, Coaches and everyone involved with the MFC.
Goodwin’s favourite response at press conferences “we’ll learn from that’
How was Geelong allowed to perfectly execute a ‘set play’ from the kickout with 40 seconds to go????
The blame doesn’t just fall on the players!

Exactly. We aren't a bottom four side that needs to blood the kids. We had a set back last night but we are still right in the frame to play finals.

Give Lewis his 300th game this week and retire him.
Start getting some games into the players
on the fringe in the next 5 weeks to see what we have for next year.

So the players run to the AFLPA and complain about the camp. Too one-sided for my liking.
Tge pkayers should be fined for bringing the club into disrepute.
