  1. I think it’s pretty unfair to have a dig at recruiting over injured players. We recruited the positions we needed, can’t really control whether they get injured or not.

And what was the alternative to this really? Goodwin clearly has an excellent bong with the playing group and he has their respect. You honestly think sacking yet another coach would be a good move? Were all all hurting right now but god damn people drawing some bloody long bows right now.

Can’t agree with this. We’ve had a revolving door of coaches in recent history and some continuity in this area was always needed. Goody is a good coach although I’m worried about his selection of a defensive coach at this stage. Goody can’t stop players fumbling the ball and making wildly poor decisions. At some point it simply comes down to the players.
  4. Over officiating is killing the game. Rapidly losing interest all together.
  5. Anyone here refusing to acknowledge that the umpires indeed gave Essendon silver service at key moments are kidding themselves. Obviously we weren’t at our best once again, but the umpiring tonight was nothing short of putrid.
  6. I would have thought I was pretty clear in saying notwithstanding us butchering the ball. I assume you had a brain fart yourself and completely missed that part of my comment.
  7. Umpires were actually deplorable at so many key moments tonight. Not withstanding we butchered it time and time again, but seriously ... mind boggling decisions at crucial times
  8. In the words of the great Dennis Denuto; “I’m s|-|ittin’ myself” Go dee’s. Prove us all wrong tonight please.
  9. I dare say its not "blind" faith, and more a balance of their metrics and current player availability. Our injury list is still significant given may and lever are both out again. I'd love to have confidence that winning the ball in the middle would negate that but from what I've seen so far, this means little. If Tmac wakes up for Friday, I'm confident of a win.
  10. Go back and read previous comments for context
  11. Gaff is a great player who made an awful mistake and paid dearly for it. Vilifying him for the remainder of his career does nothing for anyone, especially since Brayshaw himself has clearly moved on and has forgiven him.
  12. Takes plenty of fortitude to be honest with yourself and others like this. Further evidence of his leadership credentials
  13. I disagreed with what he said and shared my view accordingly. If you feel the need to jump in like a knight in shining armour that’s your business. I think it’s absurd that people here have a problem with the club sending a message, especially to the kids, that bullying people online is wrong and that it is somehow virtue signalling or invading your sacred space to escape whatever it is you need to in life. Footy has grown beyond the simple weekend pleasure of yesteryear. Kids these days have a lot more to deal with in life with the rise of social media and some here clearly do not understand that. I’m rapt the club is thoughtful in this area and wants to engage in society in positive way beyond what happens on the field. These are the kind of initiatives that draw families toward the club and increase our membership base.
  14. Pretty sad state of affairs when people take issue with the club taking a stand against bullying. I’ll go ahead and remove myself from this convo now.
  15. I assure you, I refer to you as friend in the most condescending manner possible.
  16. Ever consider the fact the target audience for this may be kids who don’t stay up to date on news like us adults do? It ain’t all about you, friend.
  17. I see no problem with organisations taking some responsibility and using their platforms for the betterment of society. This is hardly virtue signalling, they are just saying bullying is bad. What’s the problem?
  18. Well, the club and the AFL thanks you for your years of support and wishes you all the best in finding your new happy place
  19. So the impact of cyber bullying applies to everyone. Except the players of course, they should cop it because we aren’t playing well right now. Right. Back to planet earth now - fantastic initiative. No one should have to put up with insidious bullying by losers hiding behind computer screens.
  20. Couldn't care less who says what about us, I'm just calling a spade a spade - this is clickbait and everytime someone opens it SEN gets paid. How depressing.
  21. More outrage porn for, frankly, the stupid masses who can't discern between credible news and fluff commentary designed to get a rise out of people and generate advertising revenue via web traffic. We know where we are at and certainly don't need some idiot like Wallace to point that out. As long as the players aren't making excuses and are focused with getting things back on track this constant stream of "expert" opinion means zero to me.
  22. We have no other option as far as I can see
  23. We got 99 problems. But oliver ain’t 1.
  24. Nervous is a understatement.
  25. Your bringing problems with no solutions. Don’t be that guy. Its dreadfully obvious We are desperate for a dynamic crumbing forward with a bit of spark. When jeffy is on, he’s up there with the best. Let’s see him, I’m ready.
