  1. But he doesn't, and that's the problem. And it's not the small forward's job to bring the ball to ground. Kozi is lethal on the ground, not in the air.
  2. I'll go further and say his attempts have become embarrassing and are hurting the team. Aren't small forwards supposed to stay down and grab the crumbs when the ball spills free? He should be dragged the next time he goes for a speccy and drops it (which he will).
  3. 6 Petracca (clearly) 5 May 4 McVee 3 Salem 2 Fritsch 1 Langdon
  4. What is wrong with Jake Lever? Surely Petty's absence from the backline shouldn't make that much difference to an elite player's game. Is the change to a more attacking game plan prejudicing his ability to play as an intercept marker, or is he just out of form? I think Jake is one of our five most important players and his lack of influence this year is very worrying.
  5. There are currently two elite players in the competition whose form and confidence is shot to pieces, and it is causing a major problem at their respective clubs - Harry McKay and Jake Lever.
  6. Worth picking Joel just for the chance of seeing another Smith hanger.
  7. Not so sure about that. Dixon and Marshall missing tonight. Horne-Francis and Butters are dead-set guns. Can see them staying in the top 4.
  8. 6 May 5 Fritsch 4 Rivers 3 Oliver 2 Petracca 1 Hunter

My previous comment regarding Mr Anderson was not based on his performance last night, but on the following facts: 1. He has represented Melbourne players twice before with poor outcomes (Viney and Fritsch 2021). 2. He has been a barrister for seven years - this is a very short time in the career of a barrister, hence the moniker "Junior Counsel". 3. He has moved into this arena after working for the AFL. Did he ever play football? Probably, we all did, but not at any significant level. There are ex-AFL and VFL players at the Victorian Bar. Wayne Henwood, for example. And get this, his last appearance before the Tribunal was to represent Charlie Ballard of the GC Suns!

Adrian Anderson VAB (very average barrister). There are countless Melbourne supporting barristers at the Victorian Bar, including KC's, who would do a better job
  11. Third interstate trip for me. Brisbane - good crowd, weather and atmosphere, hilarious blackout, fun singalong, cr@p result. Adelaide - poor crowd, weather and atmosphere, cr@p result. Gold Coast - sparse crowd, great weather, ????
  12. We’ll be watching the other King hopefully also making a goose of himself.
  13. 6 Oliver 5 Langdon 4 Petracca 3 Viney The rest - nope, nope and nope. And the AFL Live site put May in the best players! WTF?
  14. I think you are. One shower for the whole game so far.
  15. Nope wind of little consequence inside the ground, no rain, BB out had nothing to do with the weather.
  16. Plenty of Dees scarves in evidence by the Torrens. Enjoyed a quick chat with Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy who were walking past on their way to Travis Head’s wedding! Good cricketer with a bad choice of footy teams - GWS FFS.
  17. I'm 5 km from the Adelaide Oval and there's no wind at all, so I don't know where you are. It's not raining. In fact, perfect conditions for footy. BB will play. There won't be any changes for weather.
  18. This would have been great, but I'm now sorted, thanks so much.
  19. Still looking ... Any Dees supporter in Adelaide know of a spare ticket anywhere?
  20. Alex Neal-Bullen: only eleven tackles
  21. 6 Viney 5 Petracca 4 Grundy 3 Oliver 2 Macdonald 1 Fritsch
  22. Western Bulldogs, Grand Final 2021. But seriously, GC Suns by 98 points, round 20 2021.
  23. 6 Oliver 5 Lever 4 Langdon 3 Grundy 2 Petracca 1 Jordan
  24. Lots of serious analysis here, here is a more light-hearted look at the game, or part of it anyway ... Flew to Brisbane, then by train and bus to the Gabba. Plenty of Dees supporters in attendance. Game on, Gawn gone early and Dees look as cold as his ice pack. Sitting in a nest of Lions supporters, they are happy as their team dominates, then, with twelve minutes to go, a loud bang and the ground goes dark. I suddenly feel better, as no longer do I have to sit silently and watch my team being devoured by the hungry Lions. My first announcement to the surrounding fans is: “Game's done, both teams will get two points”. Haha, very funny is the general response, but for the first time, the Lions supporters look worried. As there’s no sign of a restart, I can’t resist stirring the pot: “The Dees have been robbed, we were a certainty to kick the next seven goals.” Haha, very funny, but no one is laughing now. Still we wait. The singing is fun - “Take Me Home, Country Roads, then “Sweet Caroline”, then “The Horses”. But “Hey Jude” lacks a response as many spectators, including the only other Dees supporters in my section, leave the ground. The scoreboard goes blank, then it starts up: Lions 00.00 00, Demons 00.00 00. With the lights finally coming back on, I declare confidently: “So there you go, next goal wins!” No laughs. Upon restart, the Dees kick the first goal. I stand up, face the nest of Lions and say: “Game’s over, nice to meet you,” and pretend to leave. That gets a few smiles at least. My team may have lost, but at least years later, I’ll be able to say: “I was there when …”
  25. Because we were brilliant in round 1 and Goody doesn't change his teams!
