Round 5 Non-MFC Games
Adelaide just did a Melbourne. Absolutely dominated, 5 behinds. Sydney, 1 inside 50, 1 goal.

Welcome Johnnie Walker (we all need you!)
Only demons supporters would lament the fact their new sponsor produced blended whisky rather than single malt. Hilarious.

I'm a Lever fan but if we play him one out against Dusty, good grief. What is left of his confidence will be in the dirt on the 'G by quarter time.- Gawn Calls for Leaders to Stand Up
I love Gawny. Very rarely does he wheel out the cliches or return to his 'safe topics' as most players do. He has personality and isn't afraid to have a bit of a laugh. I find it very refreshing. In terms of leadership, I can't stress enough how much I think we are missing Viney. Imagine we get a bit in front, then the other team kicks a couple of goals. All of the opposition players would be very vocal, saying things like "we know they're soft boys, mentally weak". All opposition teams believe (and rightly so) they are never out of it when playing us. At the moment, which of our players would you think would take exception to that and really take things up a notch? Jones? Maybe Oliver? Now imagine Viney is in there. For starters, I'm not sure many people would say anything like that within earshot of him, plus, comments like that are likely to make him go into kill mode. We just need him back, soooo badly. If he can get his foot right and get a decent run at it I think he'll get to a whole new level.- Be Patient with Lever
Always a tricky one when draft picks and future draft picks are involved. Based on our recent form at the draft table the odds are we would have done very well, but we could have also drafted a dud, or who knows! I agree we folded at the draft table, but he could be the final piece of the premiership puzzle and the list management team would not have wanted to risk losing that. At this point in time I'm not saying we have paid overs, and I'm not saying we haven't either. Have a look at Tom Boyd for the dogs. He has played 3 good games in his AFL career and ask any Bulldogs supporter if they are unhappy with that trade and most will say no, because he played a big part in delivering them the 2016 flag. Time will tell, but my view is we will be happy with the trade once we are able to look back on it.- Be Patient with Lever
This bloke will be a gun. He has the talent, work ethic and desire to be worth every penny (and draft pick). I have zero doubt. Staggered at the amount of criticism he has received after 3 games. Can't wait for him to be able to say "how do you like me now?" to all of the doubters. Might not be this week but very soon I suspect we will all be stoked we have him on our team.- The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
Think there's some confusion between the Official ratings best 22 and Kane Cornes' AFL team of the week. As for the latter, he had Tom Mitchell on the bench and Dangerfield AND Ablett on the ground. Anyone who saw that game would agree Mitchell was better than both of the Geelong players. Cornes had Garlett in a pocket and Hogan on the bench. No sign of Oliver.- Name 3 good things
Obliterated them in inside 50s 64-41. Tidy things up going forward and that would translate to an easy win. Had so many passengers yet almost won. Gawn-Oliver-Petracca-Viney combo will be one of, if not the very best midfield combination within the next couple of years.- Petracca wants to start in the guts.
Has anyone seen him close up in person? I haven't, I'd love to know how big he looks up close.- Fake News in Footy
Excellent summary.- What the Fritsch
Gee I just assumed he was because he was given odds. Shame on me for trusting Sportsbet. Looks like he turned 21 on the 6th December so might be 3 weeks too old. Will have to look into it further when I haven’t had a Sunday sesh.- What the Fritsch
Currently a juicy $51 for rising star. If: A) he gets a game and B) he plays like that every week, could be the value bet of the year. Most likely kidding myself but surely a tenner on him wouldn’t hurt?- Clarence Oliver
This kid is now 5th for total disposals, 2nd for contested possessions, 5th for clearances, 10th for centre clearances and 3rd for tackles for the entire competition. (Source - afl.com.au/stats) Completely absurd for someone in their second season who only turned 20 a few weeks ago. Seems to be flying under the radar of most supporters and experts alike, I wonder if his 'dive' has taken the gloss off the most complete second year I've seen from any player I can remember. Or does his high handball/kick ratio make him a bit less flashy and eye catching? Regardless, he is as important as anyone in the team now and I love him. I remember a lot of supporters hit the roof when we drafted him ahead of Parish. I'm sure Parish will be a gun but for now it looks like a great decision. - Training 19/4
