Lachie Hunter Loses Bid To Overturn 1 Week Suspension
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Monbon's topic in Melbourne Demons
When the AFL's legal counsel Andrew Woods put it to him that he could have simply stepped to the left or the right to avoid contact, Hunter swiftly dismissed it. "No, because you're asking me to concede the ball to Port Adelaide," Hunter said. "I can't see any situation where I would just let him tap the ball and let them carry the ball down the field." What a peanut you are Andrew Woods? Lachie should have replied, have you played a game of contact sport before Andrew? -
Lachie Hunter Loses Bid To Overturn 1 Week Suspension
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Monbon's topic in Melbourne Demons
If it wasn't raining Rozee "the Olympic diver" wouldn't be sliding on his knees to knock the ball on and make contact with Lachie. Lachie has stopped dead to bend down side on and collected the ball. Terrible decision, appeal if a further week isn't risked. -
Fritsch sent for scans too
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Obviously no updates on Fritta at 11.27pm? -
Definitely Clarry's left hammy.

I get what you mean not his finest moment but he can throw his weight around when the mood arises but not enough to somes liking.

I agree with your thoughts Beelz, but JVR has to be smarter in that instance especially inside D50 and game on the line. He had 3 quarters to shove him in the chest hard to mark a statement in a part of the ground where it wouldn't cost us. We were happy with ourselves Friday Night we need to find that inner mongrel (C word) in the big games. I can count 7-8 players who play on the edge in our side Hibbo, Maysie, Pickett, JVR, Vines, Sparrow, Petty and Salem to a degree. Gawndy have to step up to the plate in the next month.

This might be Dunstan's chance but by the sound of things Clarry could be foxing. -
He's after that Brownlow is Clarry.

Ok this has happened now for some reason we didn't fly the flag, if it happens again i just want to see a physical response against Fremantle whoever. Hibbo, Maysie, Vines, Pickett etc. flying the flag if push comes to shove and anyone else who has a bit of s h i t in them.

I reckon WC are setting new levels in this space BDA, not doing an AFL pre season type levels. How can the highest profiting club in the country not have a world class fitness and conditioning crew. The amount of injuries they have is unforgivable, it seems as though they have carried over the old can't train because of covid 19 excuse. Do they have a medical department? It's the biggest tank going around on wheels and know one in the media in either WA or VIC have dug up a thing. This is as systematic as it gets and Adam Simpson isn't even under pressure because the board have backed him to tank the lights out in 2022 and 2023. They were dead set turnstiles today.

Some great ideas that have been forthcoming from the brains trust on Demonland. Injuries are never good at any time but this could be a blessing in disguise. Our over reliance on Clarry is unhealthy going forward. Throw him forward like in his younger years as a pinch hitter for 5 minutes or so just to break it up. I agree though things are getting stale inside and teams are sharking our combinations.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon they scored themselves free tickets for the game, Police unfortunately would have let them go unless Ryan got seriously injured. Don't let this ruin your future plans, Adelaide Oval is great place to watch footy. I've never seen a pack approach the Demon supporters behind the goals in my time watching games in Adelaide. I'd just put it down as a unfortunately occurrence of mindless twats looking for trouble and non was found, hopefully the police did take their details down but not holding my breath. -

Sorry to hear this WCW, they looked off their chops this pack of twats, if things got out of hand im sure more Demon supporting people would have jumped in to diffused the situation. It should have to come to this but atleast you were amongst other Demon supporters. I don't take my kids to Port games for this reason unfortunately. -

I actually saw this incident and thought they were kicking a supporter on the ground but was told it was a flag on the ground what a bunch of twats. You can't be surprised its Port after all, security did act swiftly though. -
POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Move it to Summer and we might have a better chance you reckon SPC? All I'm saying is we have played in 2 weather affected games for 2 loses. We played a fantastic 3rd quarter of footy and almost jagged the game, lots to improve on going forward. We lose a major strength in our contested marking around the ground. -
POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti
YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
We are a marking based side once we have rain affected games one of our major strengths is diminished. Our midfield is big bodied not suited to wet conditions, Ports midfield is smaller, more agile and suited the conditions down to the ground. We got taught a lesson in wet weather footy for 3 quarters on ground and inside the coaches box. I hope we have come away from this experience better prepared for these conditions in a cut throat final. I must say i was very surprised that Melksham wasn't considered for Friday night as he is a wet weather specialist. In hindsight JVR should have made way for Melk. -

YesitwasaWin4theAges replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The one positive to arise out of the loss is that's a tough travelling period done and dusted until August 6th. We now have time to settle and play at the G, hone our line up and style and set up our season. -
[censored] he would be handy.

Set shot specialist.

Can't kick to save his life.

I don't know what the Swans draft status is, but i smell the waft of a nasty tank coming on.

I thought Salem's game was amazing considering the lay off he has had away from the game.
