I hope Freo are prepared and are coming to terms with losing a young player of some calibre. Whether it be Cerra or Brayshaw, they know they are trying to prize away something that doesnt grow on trees, something they have been trying to get into their club for years. Going on other trades in recent years 2 first round draft picks are the norm, but we are talking about a player who plays in the toughest position on the field, not a Defender or midfielder. We must remember the player in question is just entering his peak 24 y.o, still under contract, this trade should and will set the club up for the next 10-15 years. The club have not disappointed come draft time in recent years, i hope the trend continues.

Will he do it again at our club? That is the million dollar question.

We need to service our needs like we did in the Lever trade, needed a intecept defensive player so we went out and got one. I'd take Kelly over Whitfield but both the type of player we need, that would be a cherry on top type outcome. Shiel wouldn't be servicing an immediate need like Lever, just stockpiling a need we already have.

Has to be a 2nd to 3rd round pick 25-35, he's a quality goal sneak who's had an unlucky run, plenty of football left in Kenty. Sad to see him go.
