  1. Fairy Nuff. It could be seen as excessive to continuously think we need 'outside wing'. I'd prefer Harmes and ANB just to develop slight increases in pace with all of their skills sets and executions thereof; through the middle has a nice efficiency that may lead to a less predictable yet multiple 'coming to meet the ball' spreads and options into deep forward locations, where the real guns are stored as an armoury. This centreline violation will also involve Clarrie and Jones (the latter whose game has elevated by the more frequent omission of the 'long bomb' for yardage, alone). Also agree that Harmes is developing a very good fend off in a similar vein to that of the Dusted One. With more execution, it could be another ripper, adding to our brick wall of protection with forward 50 entries.
  2. Yeah, it is a bastard of a thing to shake, thank heavens it is not the foot.
  3. That proved to be as invalid and unimportant as a Bill Shorten Brain press releaste.
  4. Might be a good 'get out of the friggin' way' combination; 'oh, look - there's a pack of Crows over there, let's get stuck into them and break a few bones... The ball is approaching, a high ball, in it comes and he's right on my tail ... oh, better mark it because Pedo has knocked him rotten.... '
  5. Geez, again Goodwin makes a statement that says nothing ...
  6. It cannot be the Weed, so Pedo is the man. We must win this one - not carry the 'L' plates into the forward line.
  7. Pedo would also be handy - and handy enough for the Crows, at that, I'd reckon. Very worrying about TMac, just the same. Hope all is well and the 'just precautionary' is merely the case.
  8. Yep, got caught up in mists of time about the 'Irish experiment', and of course, you are correct.
  9. He was yet grew up in Ireland and was recruited from their footy game almost alongside Jim Stynes. He took at least another year longer than Stynes to catch onto the game, I recall, but by the end of the second year he had become just another gun for the Dees.
  10. Northey was a superb handler of footballers, a great motivator and he certainly got a great deal out of his teams. The players were such that they continued to improve individually and collectively, with many ordinary footballers becoming something special. I was never sure how Northey had that effect on the team, how he trained them to perform so well. He was ruthless, they were similarly ruthless - and man-handled some big names and teams with contempt. Great era.
  11. White was a marvel with the football, getting the football, passing the football, taking marks with the football, running with the football, kicking for goal with the football, handballing with the football, being furthest away from the football and still winning the football, and finally, smacking an opponent in the mouth if he dared gain possession of the football. He was pretty focussed for an Irishman.
  12. Due to his injuries (back), his form dropped somewhat in the latter career for Lyon and I thought that he was played too often at that time (of the injuries), taking on risky appearances month after month. His heart was in it, obviously and his skills were well above average; it was difficult to imagine a Demons team without him on the field. When fit - from the moment he came into the side and for the entire period before the back problems, he was a superstar within a team of several superstars, and the rest of the team were pretty awesome in support.
  13. Tend to agree. Consensus is a good thing.
  14. Vanders in an uninjured state was a terrific footballer. Reports are that the medical team are very happy with his progress and the injury effect is closing rapidly; his workout routine across this period has been commendable, as well, maintaining strength and development, etc. Should he get back into full training and readiness for playing AFL matches, this year, do DL posters consider that he will get to play a game or two for us this season?
  15. Could be a great victory, for sure. Are we all sitting, at present, on the edge of the seat with nervous tremors? Sure does fully occupy the mind and the full, daily routine, often at the most inappropriate moments. Hate to harp, but I feel obliged to mention it: I would really like to see Pedo snuck into the fwd line from the bench across the game; I would like to see Spargo rested and Garlett come into the fwd pocket. I thought that the Clarrie fakes for a Brayshaw centre clearance and vice-versa were absolutely fantastic - and kept opponents guessing where to intercept on Gawn's taps at the centre bounces.
  16. That whole season was terrific for the Dees with such a string of great players 'at the ready'. Saw most games and the finals ascent into the realms of possibilities.
  17. How about this, dpositive: To the philosophical and wizened AFL enthusiast, Collingwood Football Club are trash.
  18. His form and efforts in 2018 = inspirational excellence.
  19. Tasteless, submitted to draw disdain to others. Onto the 'banned' list immediately.
  20. LIving in Adelaide, I am surrounded by what you describe, both houses next door, the people over the back fence, the next street across and the four after it. Go to the supermarket and being greeted by: 'Go, Crows!' drives you mad. I wear my Demons cap everywhere, now. Let me tell you, there is a wall of silence from those who one might regard as 'normal people', well-mannered people and football enthusiasts who normally meet and greet in bucket-loads of conviviality. No more - particularly this week with the Crows match approaching. So, Dees and Dees fans, hellp me give 'em hellfire!
  21. With Harmes' build and conditioning, it really is just a matter of developing improved pace and agility, he has the tank and the power. He need not be another Davey, by any means in terms of pace, just faster than he currently happens to be. Mind you, at his current speed status, he ain't too bad as it is, he just needs heightened running adjustments to increase absolute speed.
  22. Ten minutes later, I have been musing on this possibility of downloading the Weed as part of gathering Lynch, potentially. Gaff would be my priority acquisition, just the same. I reckon that Lynch would not be needed by the MFC in his current onfield deployment (at the Crows); however, I do think that he is a player above a mere depth acquisition. To this end, I feel that he could be fairly easily adapted to be our Centre Half Back with some command of the footy field and, of course, better exploiting his footy-gathering skills, given his physical attributes. With OMac proving more skilled, adept and reliable at Full Back, and with the rest of our impressive backline in support, Lynch could well be the opportunity to release Lever from the CHB position, enabling him (Lever) to return to the utility/intercept role to the HBFlank where he plays his very best football. Imagine: Jetta OMac Hibberd Lever Lynch Hunt/Lewis ... as our back six to produce a fortress and ball-winning set to support and initiate our impressive midfield and forward drive. In many ways, it is a bluddy scary opportunity to put the wobblies up the Filth, Carlscum, Essendrug, Whoreform, the Weegals and the dreaded interstate menagerie. Yep, go for him, after Gaff.
