  1. NIcely posited proposition, in all exhausted timeframes.
  2. Inappropriate adjective '...power...' in this case. Sad, really...
  3. The possibility of another of Eddie's fatal forays into player attraction? Let's talk the Weed up a bit, so then just maybe, Eddie might think he is onto another very hot piece of property. We might make the Club a quid out of it, too.
  4. And nothing looks like happening until the 4th year. Not a bad kid-glove apprenticeship.
  5. 2 years is enough, 3 years is shameful.
  6. Yes, DJ - it is all just another worry and as I have said it before, another tall kept in abeyance.....for how long?
  7. King has talent. Gone missing? What is happening with him - at Casey?
  8. Painfully true. He has a particular body shape and size. If he really wants to play premium football, he needs to work harder than he has on that body and its capabilities. He could well handle 15 kgs of sheer muscle development from head to toe; his ability to read the play is in need of attention; he has very little agility in lateral and directional change; his light frame renders him noncompetitive in critical fwd marking duels or packs; he could work on speed increases and leading to space as a fwd receiver of midline effort. Injuries, sure were important but I doubt that he has been 'really' working on his aptitudes for success. I'd give him this year only to make the change - then hand him back to the Filth if key milestones are not met.
  9. The Weed: Reading the play is his key football need. Putting on some real muscle is another - much more than one pre-season of 'bulking', as reported. He could also increase his speed considerably and lateral agility is vital for him to become the key forward that he already should be. Consistent competitiveness in marking might result. Leading to deliveries would be highly desirable, as well.
  10. If the offers were selectively made, it would make little sense or could be discriminatory in some way. I'd reckon that it may well have been a sampling to see if members would 'go for it' in any big way. In the medium-term, I would think this ticketing offer could be a great income-generator for the Club and could provide members of the Club addition satisfaction for their money and loyalties. Imagine 10 000 + Members at the 'G for a game in one deluxe area of the ground! This could occur every home game - all facilitated electronically on the Net - buy tickets cheaply, deliver print-out tickets for Members cheaply, get increased crowds at games - think of the potential for revenues to all aspects of the spectacle of football. Imagine how the Collingwood supporters would feel attending a match against the Mighty Demons at the 'G - and those from Carlscum, Essendrug and Whorethorn.
  11. Yep, sure hope I can help you. I received the offer on e-mail (I am an interstate Armchair Member of MFC, from Adelaide). From there, I immediately called (and got through relatively quickly) the MFC Membership area on the following number: 1300 336667 to enquire about the e-mail offer to Members - and the possibility of taking along 2 guests (non-members). They said: 'No worries...' and facilitated it all on the spot. I paid via Debit Card over the phone. Within minutes, via MFC through Ticketek, the goodies, complete, had arrived. I pick up the guest passes to the Members' seating area ($18 each x 2) from just outside Gate 3 at the 'G from 1pm Sunday - but please note, the guests have to pay a General Entry fee of $20 approximately to get in as General Entry - and then accompany the 2 of us, Members, to the allocated seating - with entry via Gate 5, just a few hundred metres north around the Ground from Gate 3. Hope this all helps. 'Carna Dees!
  12. On a brighter note, as members, we just took advantage of the MFC members reserved seats for Sunday's game against Geelong at the MCG. It was astonishingly good value from the Club, in comparison to the offering that existed previously from the money-hungry Ticketek, who required, for just ordinary seats, $75 per seat for members of the MFC. The lowest-priced seats for MFC Members offered by Ticketek were in the order of $60 per seat, in the bleaches of the Northern Stand or behind the Richmond-end goals bleachers. Neither were acceptable. Suddenly, the MFC offered yesterday, Monday, 2 Members tickets for $20 @ $10 each. In addition, we were also able to collect from the MFC two Guest tickets beside our seats for $18 each. We took immediate action and purchased the package for four people in the reserved seat area for less than one reserved seat in the above Ticketek bleachers. This is the way MFC Members should be treated - more often. In reality, it is $10 per seat and next to / near the facilities, with good viewings of the ground just on the wing at Level 1. What's is equally advantageous is that these tickets were issued electronically the same day, arriving in e-mail within minutes. I'd encourage any Member to take advantage of this great offering to indicate to the Club that this is what Members might wish. It may even expand as time goes by - at least one could hope.
  13. Really would expect a few hundred (or more) new memberships in the next few weeks and into the season from there. Success is a great accumulator in football and being on the bandwagon is very associative with that success.
  14. For other clubs under such an administration as the AFL, the FOI must be successful in order for those clubs to avoid the damage done in the past with full, heads-up strategies and that includes existing feedback. Commonsense must prevail. Anything else is negligence.
  15. Physically more possible, too. Haha
  16. Like all things MFC, stuff will happen and get better. This IS 2018 and I'd reckon that Burgan is just brushing up on his superlatives prior to our best season since '64, for journalistic accuracy.
  17. Saty does a terrific job and his comments are first rate.
  18. Poorly worded, sorry. I meant no-one from my circle of friends from that era.
  19. They nick-named me 'Cass' based upon part of my surname, and every party I went to in my uni days it was always: 'Jumpin Jack Flash it's a Cass!' Never lived it down. Thank heavens no-one who can remember the 1960s lives nearby...
  20. Lovely name. Why not keep it?
  21. And sometimes, one wonders why a Tasmanian team has not be able or permitted to enter the competition - population is not necessarily the reason, yet that would be based upon the holy $1.00 in some eyes. Tassy football, in general, is remarkable to watch if you get the chance. It reminds me of the VFL days - contests are great. Umpiring is very communicative and as a result, proves to be really consistent.
  22. Just a personal note of thanks, Binman, to another.
