Holding the ball
Of course it does - in which case from belligerent supporters you're tarred with an inability to 'lower the eyes' or 'spot up someone' . Some supporters want it both ways. Whilst I was annoyed at times with the holding the ball and fend off from Viney/Harmes (Vimes? Harney?) duo, they clearly get away with it more than 50% of the time, which is why they keep doing it. All players make errors, players that make similar errors (that come over some of the time) look as though they haven't 'learned'. It's more about a risk that hasn't paid off - its not arrogance, thats a misinterpretation. Language around 'burning' or 'torching' players doesn't help either. For each player, it's a decision that is either taken or not taken moment to moment for each player, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't Anyway I'm going to list some errors that players make each game that for me are on a scale of ropeable to mildly amusing bombing into 50... it's only bombing when it doesn't come off.. do you back your tall forward to win the contest? multiple defenders spoiling the ball with no one on the ground and the ball happens to spill over the back. fending off... it's only arrogance when it doesn't come off.. do you back your strength? kicking on the 45...its a decision making error, unless of course it pays off and then it's amazing getting spoilt when attempting a chest mark..just stretch out your arms Ryan Ferguson tunnel ball

Ahhh momentum. Unless you've won too many in a row in which case you're 'due for a loss'. #mythsofelitesport.

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Gold Coast
I used to think it was us, but it's all teams - so it's no longer Hollywood, it's as beige as Craigieburn. Stat's wouldn't back that one up... Yep, agreed - he has come in in leaps and bounds...rock solid.

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Gold Coast
This post game thread is as neurotic as it gets. Always looking for negative's to confirm the long held belief that 'we're never good enough', so that when we inevitability lose (and we will, just a matter of pre or post grand final) we can go into self protection and fall back on 'I told you so?

Remember that time we drew against them, and it was a pathetic effort?? ??

Trade Targets
With Sam Mitchell flagging significant changes at Hawthorn - I'd be inclined to offer something to wedge Luke Breust out of there, or perhaps Jack Gunston (though he is like for like with Fritsch for mine).

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Gold Coast
For those complaining about goal kicking accuracy, it probably pays to get a little more forensic than merely looking at goals and points. I find the AFL app (surprisingly) good at giving a breakdown. By my reckoning, that's 18 goals kicked, plus 13 points kicked (5 posters) and 7 rushed behinds.

Loads and Fatigue
Hmmmm....end of the intense loading phase in recent times, not sure whether it is a correlation or causation that a performance like this has occurred. (at least, what we can perform as, not the Suns)

still stressed enough to have a chip at Viney though ?

Gold Coast & West Coast Games Rescheduled
I'd argue it's not an artform - they play worse over here, and more consistent at home. Is it merely some CBF's for them when they're here? Maybe... It'd be great to get some stats, on teams, or interstate teams that win back home after losing interstate. Debatable if it has a thing to do with pride/emotions.

NON MFC: Rd 20 2021
On your later statement - not even slightly. There is such marginal difference between all teams - do we not know this by now? I'm being a smart [censored] here - but I see it Monty Python style "Ooooh, the greatest coach of a generation has just being sacked - let's all play well" "Hup hup hup, everyone, let's finally show Clarko, what we can do with this list profile' 'Yes, we wanted that ba$tard Buckley gone - but why did those Hawks want that ba$tard Clarkson gone?"

Of course we did...

Gold Coast & West Coast Games Rescheduled
Interesting how it's only other teams that 'get up and are hungry' after a loss, never the Dees. Each game is an individual entity - and has no baring on the next. Unless you believe that the only way to win, is permanently having no confidence the week before playing the Dees, unless you win and in which case, you're supremely confident? [censored], it's even confusing for me to make sense of this logic.

What favours Gold Coast- a game at Marvel? Would we see Big Bad Benny kick 8 goals?

COVID & AFL 2021
What's the drama? They merely need to refuel. It's likely they'll stop in Alice and head on to Perth...

GAMEDAY: Rd 20 v Gold Coast Part 1
That's so funny. I just presumed all of us who post on here have no mates and watch the game in a isolation whereby we can vent our fury. (heaps of projection in that statement).

*am bemused by the adulation of Clarkson. His time has passed.

TEAMS: Rd 20 vs Gold Coast
Ugh, so I've had a weekend sabbatical from my dear wife and dear child, I've ended up in a place where there is internet 2001 style... 1 bar - 3G on my phone... I was happy to have some quiet time and just sloth around by myself in my Y-fronts, and watch the footy tomorrow.... BUT no access... I could essentially be in the middle of the atlantic. I have no idea if this will even post. Now, some would say it's an opportunity to detox from the net... true true.. But what I want to know, is the game on TV tomorrow?

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Nah, that wasn't a veiled stab at you. It was me - pondering Petty - he has done a great job as a back, but I'm still seduced by his time up forward.

Rd 22 vs Adelaide in Melbourne
Yeah, not excuses, but aside from flipping open the 'Is Goodwin the right guy' thread, are there any legitimate reasons?
