  1. 100% Smokey - I just went for a walk and was thinking about why I was initially so disappointed, I guess for most of us, it’s hard to get distinctions between our expectations not being met, and the subsequent anxiety of what a ‘poor performance’ judgement means for future matches and ultimately winning a GF. I guess for some/most die hards- there is years of frustration/anxitety - that now even when we are on top of the ladder - there still isn’t enough evidence weekly that we’re good enough.
  2. Remember when this thread was started roughly 15 hours ago... and it was at minimum a comfortable 4 goal win. FMD...
  3. Tsunami, tsunami tsunami, came washing over me....
  4. [censored] me @leave it to deever just leave those black and white statements alone. Which team this year (or any year) have done the old 'we bring the same intensity every week'. Not one Not ever Not in your lifetime. Give it a rest.
  5. Slippers are off... I'm pacing around the room, I've put the cat in the fire.
  6. Hunt's so apathetic, he's yawning on the bench.
  7. I'm so relaxed I've broken out an album that is 26 years old and rocking out to it whilst watching the footy.. Hasn't happened since 2000....
  8. Pipe and slippers on in front of the open fire peoplezzz I've never been more relaxed at 1/4 time throughout 2021.
  9. Well, that’s rather forthright if you. anyways, the answer will be anticlimactic now.
  10. Indeed, it’s a random riddle as well. Neural pathways take me where they do.
  11. Anything to do wearing vests? or Irish musicians?
  12. Heh! I was there for that game in amongst the Geelong supporters. Staring off into the middle distance for 3 and half quarters. I've said it a few times here, but the comeuppance was when they celebrated Corey Enright's 300 *prior* to the match with plenty of fanfare. It felt like they believed the home win was a foregone conclusion. If I recall Bernie Vince played a blinder down here and we won by perhaps 3 goals. It was deathly silence. And instead of staring off into the middle distance... I stared every [censored] in the eye... ? Anyway, 186 wasn't Geelong's doing. It was the MFC's doing.
  13. Indeed I was... here I was being all Vic-centric assuming the game was at the 'G'.
  14. I live in regional Vic. Stuck in Traffic? Seriously? As in we can't travel more than 5km?, so how is this possible as a reason? Or am I out of touch with how Melbourne traffic operates? Is there something else afoot? Something being kept away from public view? 20 minute delay??? 20 minutes briefing? Half time announcement? tin foil hat???
  15. Good question! For me, a Richmond win... they'll drop off over the remaining rounds anyway
  16. I could clearly see that it was divisible by 11 or 3 but was stuck on looking at it as a singular team reference to cricket...
  17. @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew - was the 33 indicative of how many keepers there have been for Australia?
  18. All listed were only good enough to play in the Third XI's at their school?
  19. Is the clue the use of the word Sir?
  20. Weirdly I read that as Melton.
  21. How very European of you. (great idea!)
  22. Are you really skeptical? Or do you just phrase things from a negative perspective as a rule of thumb? can you seriously imagine someone, having run 4/5 other brain teasers suddenly presenting one and saying there is a connection when there isn’t, just to have a laff?
  23. the only other topic I have would be Indigenous Australians?
  24. Is there a prominent Welsh poet on the Half Forward line @demonstone? *edit also a british/welsh politician on the half forward line. ** ok two lines of enquiry. Nationality and Literature.
