The Jack Watts in 2018 Thread
bringbackthebiff replied to Ugottobekidding's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we didn’t trade watts then harmes wouldn’t have number 4. Without this number he wouldn’t have won the game for us on Sunday. And therefore we wouldn’t be in the finals. Time to shut down the thread - I think I have nailed it... -
It’s so pathetic watching battlers like north trying to scrape into the finals...
-
September... Melbourne Football Club... Finals... I didn’t think those words even belonged in a sentence
-
Great challenge today. With the swans experience they know how to win these high pressure games and we generally don’t. Win this and it’s another step to developing the mental strength required to be one of the top teams.
-
Not true. I counted at least 10 people in their cheer squad behind the goals
-
Great work, got the job done. Now the real work starts. Shame about Smith, was looking promising today, just needs to tidy up his decision making/disposal. Hopefully it’s a confidence thing.

Ladies and gentlemen, the top 4 has really opened up. We are a massive chance of a sneaky top 4. Obviously this is code for missing the top 8, or is it... Go you f’ing demons! Take your chances!!
-
But hirdy said they could win the premiership...
-
Wow that was amazing - as in how the f was sos “special comments”
-
I miss winning flags ? ? ? ?
-
Omg tackles him when he should be away from the protected zone. ?♂️
-
That’s actually the impressive part. Maintaining this work rate for the best part of 2 years. Doggies did if for 1 finals series
-
I like the sound of that, however with 4 flags already in the bag, not sure a curse is possible
-
That would be a fantastic result because losing round 23 matches is definitely a strength of ours...
-
Well done boys, restored the faith
-
Good news - the ladder is opening up nicely. Bad news - we are Melbourne.
-
Also if we were smart, with a 5 goal lead in the last quarter, you can take minutes out of game during the last 15 minutes. Then the last 2 minutes would probably not have been a problem.
-
Geez I hope we hold onto a top 2 finish with only 5 rounds remaining ?
-
This reflects my views. The future looks good, but the problem is, all 17 other clubs probably expect to improve next year also eg tiges with lynch, gws with no injuries etc. That’s why in sport you always need to take your opportunities, because the future is an unknown. Simply this year to date - we haven’t take them

Judd is a good judge. That’s why he picked Carlton and didn’t even speak to Hawthorn ?
-
It didn’t cost us the game, it was just an example of lacking composure. 2 options a) command a player to him and hit the flat 15-20m pass (he has the skills to do this) or the percentage drop punt down the line to a contest. As an opposition player you would gain confidence from this. You would be thinking “they have no idea what they are doing”
-
Percentage for error was way to high! We needed composure. Torps can easily slice off the boot, there were geelong players everywhere if that happened. Just need to settle and keep our hands on the ball.
-
Well played ?
-
I love your optimism and balanced view. But they cracked me last night. Reckon we will look pinpoint the moment when we missed the finals was that last disgraceful quarter - so dumb. Out of interest, what does the team need to do to crack you?

Funny part was Dangerfield was complaining about the 50 when they kicked the ball after the free. Said “he couldn’t hear”. Exactly how he got the ruck free and kicked the goal - brayshaw didn’t hear the ump.
