  1. Watching one of the Draft shows on Foxtel last night, they mentioned this kid for our first pick

    21. OSCAR ALLEN

    Key forward, 191cm, 83kg, West Perth/Western Australia

Buckenara says: Allen was one of the most consistent players of the championships, which saw him win the Larke Medal as the best player after booting 11 goals in four games. He’s a nice kick for goal, has a good pair of hands and makes the most of his chances. He’s a good size and appears suited to the modern half forward role because he has a big engine and can run all day. I expect he’ll be a standout at the draft combine.

They mentioned him as playing more backline though, team him up with Lever in pre season. Be interesting to see how close they are.

  2. If Watts loves the club so much and wants to stay, then refuse a trade and stay. There's one way to prove the coaches are wrong, bust your arse on the training track, force your way into the firsts and play to your full potential, simple.

Personally I hope he has the heart, and balls, to stay and prove the footy department wrong.

Two first rounds picks for Watts? Hahah. You've gotta be kidding me. Demonland's services would crash if we picked up a Watts-esque player - a talented 26 year old who's been unable to nail down a consistent senior gig - for two first rounds picks!

For some comparison, we only gave away 29 for Hibberd (and we upgraded 68 to 59).

I didn't say he was worth, or that we'd get, two 1st round picks for him, I said that is what I'd demand if I were the Dees. I'd then hope for at least a 1st round pick, hopefully a 2nd round pick too because he's still contracted for 2 years, if Swans/Port want him badly enough, make them pay overs. ?

If not, we keep him and hope that he pulls his finger out and plays to his potential. I'd prefer to keep him rather then throw him away for a 2nd round pick. ??

  4. I want a 1st round draft pick for Watts, since he's still contracted I'd prefer to play hard ball and say two 1st round picks, or at the minimum, this years 1st round and next years 2nd round. If they set on the Lever deal, I'd use Swans/Ports 1st round pick and our 2nd round on that deal, then use our pick 10 to try and get Andrew Brayshaw. Tippet would be a complete waste.

  5. And we also had our key forward miss most of the year, not to mention other injuries.

You have to be kidding yourself if you don't believe ex players aren't going to have a soft spot for teams they played for, doesn't mean they barrack for them when we play against them. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Bernie Vince was there somewhere barracking for Adelaide. ?

I saw Brayshaw going for a run today, looked like he was working hard.

    Good to see.

Another reason I love the kid, last year he attached himself to Jones during the off season to improve his gut running, the kid definitely has the right mind set. Another reason that I'd love us to use our pick 10 and pick up Andrew Brayshaw if he's still there at that stage. Andrew has skill and he'd feed off the work that Gus is doing. ?

Im inclined to think his intent (imho ) was to take advantage of a situation to hurt/test Shiel.

He did it clumsily. He'll probably get away with it, but shouldn't.

Shiel's injury (known) would have been on a 'hit list' . Anyone who thinks such thinks dont happen are welcome to put a deposit down on my pink and purple unicorns I'm selling.

Not being a smartarse here, but are you talking about Shiel's taped shoulder, BB, or another injury? Did he injure it again recently, because he always has it taped up?

Although I also agree that players target injuries, in this case I don't think it's true though, the taped shoulder was on the other side of the direction Cotchin was coming in from.

Normally I would expect the MRP to probably fine the player in this case, but I honestly don't think they'll have the balls in this case because Cotchin already has the two fines.
