  1. Hadn’t received ours before I left for Cobram on Monday, got back a couple of hours ago and they were in the letterbox, must’ve arrived after I left. One was an Xmas present for a new member, she was still ecstatic when we got home today and I got her to open the mail. ?

Not happy with the club and Aus Post about how this was done, but at least they arrived. ??

Have you received an email from Australia Post by any chance Males with a tracking number for your delivery?

No, but I haven’t any other year either? I’m hoping the lady I spoke to at Melbourne Membership was correct and Aust Post are delivering through the weekend? ??

  3. I haven’t received mine yet, one is a Xmas present too. I received an sms last Friday saying that Aus Post had my memberships. Unless it comes early Monday, it will be given after Xmas. ?

Edit: Melbourne membership just told me that mine has definitely been posted, also stated that Aus Post are delivering through the weekend? I still won’t hold my breath though. ?

Strange that the club would cancel it Swyl. The club didn’t want their players exposed to that kind of talk. That was the reason stated in his tweet.

We regularly have people coming in and talking to us at our workplace as we have lost two colleagues in the last two years and some still don’t know enough about these issues. We’ve seen the impact it has on families and hope everything works out for Daw’s.

Surely it has to be a mistaken tweet?

Why wouldn’t you want players exposed to the danger of mental health from an ex AFL player, and one that had a successful career too? It shows that even a great player, a cemented firsts player with money to burn can still have mental health issues. Also shows the courage to come out and talk about it, that it’s ok to talk about it and some of the possible warning signs etc.

I would be totally shattered if this tweet was true and it was us. ?

Did anyone that renewed early get the opportunity to have their cards customised? Players pics weren’t available yet back in October, just wondering if they are available now.

Yes, I upgraded to a Dedicated Demon and was able to request Maxy on a card. I requested it for a new membership too, not my one, because she loves the big fella, the club had no issues doing it. ??

Clubs pay many $000s for CDs standard stats package and many more for custom packages.  I don't think they regard them as useless.

What seems to missing here is the realisation that CD correlate stats with game outcomes to determine the important stats. It's an emerging and imperfect science but it's not "opinion".

Not only that, CD main man Glenn Luff was poached by North Melbourne to be their stats guru this year. They certainly rate their stats.

  7. How long did it take Dusty to get a big enough tank to last a whole game in the midfield, 3-4years?

How many games did Ablett have under his belt before he became consistent, and one of the greatest players to have played the game, 100?

Petracca, in my opinion, will follow the Dusty scenario. One year slower because of his interrupted start to his AFL career. I’m not too worried about his progress. ?

  8. From the Dees website.

“MELBOURNE recruit Kade Kolodjashnij has wasted little time trying to impress his new teammates with a strong performance to finish third in the Demons' 2km time trial on Monday.

The time trial was won by perennial pacesetter Alex Neal-Bullen, who ran an unofficial time of 6min 22secs in hot conditions at Gosch's Paddock.

Defender Joel Smith ran over the top of Kolodjashnij in the last 70m to pinch second place after the former Sun took the lead early in the race.

Neal-Bullen is renowned as one of Melbourne's best endurance runners and motored home in the last lap to claim victory in his pet event.

Kolodjashnij set the tempo early as he looked to take it to the field in couple of laps and looked comfortable out in front in his new colours.”

  9. There are some players that no matter how many weights they lift, or how fit they are, they just don’t look it. Or I should say, they don’t look as ripped as some others.

I’m not too concerned though, he won GC’s 2km time trial last preseason in 29 degree heat before the headaches kicked in again around R4. With the strength and conditioning program I would guess he is on for his neck issue, I’m going to back him to do well in our preseason. ??‍♂️ ??‍♂️

  10. The below is copied off the AFL site,

Top six: Clubs ranked 1-6 on the 2015 ladder will have a minimum of two and maximum of three return meetings with other top six clubs. They will have a minimum of one and maximum of two return meetings with clubs ranked 7-12. They will have either no return meetings or a maximum of one return meeting with clubs ranked 13-18.

Has this rule/plan changed since 2015? If not, why do we get stuck playing 4 top 6 teams twice?
