Or looking at supporters from Perth in general. *West Coast supporters that is...

If we can take anything out of 2020, it's that WERRIDEE has won the worst post for the year award in March. I don't think it can be topped.

Yeah, don't care about the game at all now. Couldn't care less if we win by 100 or lose by 100. Far more important things going on in our country to worry about than footy. Put it on the back burner and focus on those who are ill, at risk and struggling for work. Get everything right first. I hope everyone on Demonland is doing okay during this tough time. Let's make sure we all stick together here. Love you all.

It's a good point, and one I'm slightly worried about. We love the long bomb inside 50, but we need to be bringing the ball to ground at the very least. The Eagles are superb at picking the ball off and then turning defence into attack. If we're to be any chance of winning this game then we need to be smart with our use inside 50, otherwise we're in a bit of strife.

I'll say it again - the bloke is out of his depth when it isn't a training report. He's proven it time and time again.
-
I feel you mate. Plenty of amateur doctors post here. From what I can gather Jones was going to train today to see if he was fit enough, but obviously they've given him another week to get over it.
-
He didn't. He's guessing. @Jaded - Goodwin mentioned that Salem will be right for next week, he just didn't do enough at training to get up for this one. Doesn't seem to be one to worry about.

Did you miss the big article where it said he's out for three months?
-
That's pretty exciting on its own.

Regardless of what happens re: his place on the list at the end of the year, it's absolutely rotten luck for him to have this happen. It's not even related to the previous foot injuries that he's suffered. Hopefully he can work himself back into full fitness as the year goes on. When fit he is a best 22 player.
-
Great to see both Pickett and Bedford in the side. I think both have plenty to offer inside 50 for us that we lacked last season. This means Luke Jackson will miss out on a debut but I think that's the right decision at this stage. Seeing this has me fired up for the game on the weekend. Can't wait!

Cheap shot from a [censored] poor excuse for a bloke. Not surprising.

'Poita' and 'seriously terrible post' go hand in hand, Chazz.
-
We're in good shape if most of the injured players are depth, which they are. If we're heading into Round 1 with most of our best 22 on the plane then that's a big win.

*She could teach you a thing or two as well. After knocking dworship for talking down to people, it's good to see you doing the same thing. And for the record, I wasn't trying to liken you to someone of that age, it just felt it was a conversation that was going nowhere from both ends. Neither of us are going to change our views, so what's the point? -
Yeah, yeah. I know. It doesn't really matter but thought it's worth a glance at the very least. Full list here for those who can read it: Mark Robinson’s Top 50: Marcus Bontempelli set to join Western Bulldogs greats Melbourne players included are: Max Gawn at #7 Clayton Oliver at #25 Christian Petracca at #49. He gave the #1 spot to Bontempelli, with Dusty at #2 and Fyfe at #3.

I'm not ignoring the fact we knocked off the eventual premiers, GWS, Geelong and Hawthorn in what I'm talking about. Look, we're going round and round and round in circles. It's like talking to my five year old. Yes, I acknowledge that forward of centre needed some work. Some tweaking if you will. I will, however, not accept that it was a major problem or needed major changes, especially at the end of 2018, after we won two finals and also went on a pretty handy winning streak in that same season. I don't give a stuff about internal views or whatever. We're going off topic anyway. What we stand for, and how we play the game, is very evident to me and will hopefully be the same for you in time. Goody doesn't need to spell it out for us. Cheers. -
Great news. Good to see some common sense prevail when the words 'Melbourne' and 'tribunal' are potentially in the same sentence together.

I'll stop you there. That's quite easy for you to say, and certainly supports your narrative, but we're still not making a Prelim if our forward structure needed major fixing. You need a structure that at least functions well enough to use this 'luck' to our advantage. Cheers. -

I agree in part, although we aren't making a Prelim if our forward structure needed to be 'fixed'. We were one of the best scoring teams in that year and the hiccups you mentioned above are natural. I felt that, at the end of 2019, it needed to be tweaked, but then everything went belly up so it didn't matter as much. I do agree that we need to lower our eyes a little more and use the ball better as we move through the centre of the ground, thus allowing us to hit players on the lead or at least give them a chance one on one, but I still think the main principle of what we aim to achieve inside 50 will essentially remain the same. -

As I see it, the idea has been to kick the ball to the hot spot around 15-35 metres out. We want this to occur: - Someone takes a pack mark resulting in a shot on goal. If this doesn't happen, then: - We aim to lock the ball inside 50 with our forward pressure, or look for quick repeat entries which will have us kicking to the hot spot again. It worked quite well in 2018, not so well last year. Obviously we can still hit up the leading player from time to time, or get a player one out (which ended up being Melksham in 2018) through a turnover, but that's been the basis of our 150 gameplan for a few years now. And no, that doesn't make you dumber. But your annoyance around Goodwin not sharing our game plan, word for word, with you just seems a little silly. -
That's what bog ordinary teams do - they go the man a bit harder than most.
-
I'd have one of them in the side. If Kossie plays then we don't have room for both. Plus they play in different positions, so comparing their spot in the side is a moot point. If Lockhart plays then I'm fine with that, but I'll be interested to see how they fit him in and who misses out.
-
I'm not against him playing. In fact, I think he deserves a run based off his pre-season form. However, where does he fit? The only wrinkle I have is that we need to play three talls, while Jetta, Salem, Hibberd and Harmes are all locks for us at this stage. Can we still fit him in?
