Strong rumour doing the rounds on twitter that GWS are very keen on Pick 2 and a deal is getting close. Jon Ralph, Sam Landsberger and Adam White have all mentioned it in the last half hour. No word on what GWS are offering but it looks as though it has some real potential at the minute.

It's a pain that we don't know more info about which clubs are keen and the type of players involved, as outside of this interest we know nothing else, but we need to remember we are in a strong position here. We either get a fantastic kid with pick 2 or we upgrade our midfield talent in a big way.

To be fair it's not a "big" trade - unless there is some legit news the journos won't give it any air time. Be patient.

All we need is for one club to get a bit desperate with all the interest in pick 2 and offer us a bloody good deal that we take instantly. That's all it takes.

Last line of a HUN article tonight says Michie is likely to end up with us even though there is a little interest from the Saints and another club, which I think was Carlton off the top of my head.

I still think Dom Tyson and pick 9 for our pick 2 is a good deal for both. Tyson would be a very good addition to our midfield and we still have a pick within the top 10 to select another.

Or maybe it was BS? Mahoney had said on 2 or 3 occasions Shaw was not high on our radar, something he himself indicated. It was always between Geelong and GWS and that's been proven to be correct. Apparently Essendon were also trying hard to land him but missed out. No mention of us. We were never in it in any way.

Robbo reporting Heath Shaw has decided to play for GWS at about $700,000 a year for 5 years. Silly money from GWS but they have to spend it on someone. There goes Clark Kents rumour of either us or Geelong - ended up being GWS. More proof of his rubbish.

HUN is saying that GWS have interviewed Vince as well but no formal offer has been made... yet. Seems like there is some interest in him but it sounds like we have actually made a contract offer and are keen to deal, which will probably be around Pick 20. GWS are probably the only club who could trump if they were keen enough to offer their compo pick in the first round. Also says in the article we have interviewed Jarryd Lyons as well - we have two weeks left to take Vince and Lyons for Pick 20 if we can pull it off...

Not sure how good she really is in the air. Reckon Howe might have her covered. And by the way... you can sprout off all you like about Howe's supposed trade value, but it doesn't change the fact he is an important part of our club going forward. Should not, and will not, be traded.

With the right recruits, and key players staying fit, I don't necessarily disagree with this. We all know we lack midfield talent, but if we can start to rectify this through this trade period then I have no doubt we will win more games of football. What you posted about Shaw is different to what you first posted - you said that if he doesn't go to Geelong, he'll be a Dee. Now you say we are only meeting with him to see where he is at. Make up your mind. I don't discount that we may meet with him, but to blatantly suggest he will automatically come to us when we haven't even met him yet his wrong.

Absolute rubbish. Has no interest in playing for us and will either be at GWS or Geelong. I appreciate all the rumours but, going by what you've heard, we will end up with 11 new players. We won't get half that.

It's not that I'm not keen on it, it's more that I just don't think the Crows would trade him away, or he would want to come to Melbourne. I like the idea of trading pick 2 for some proven talent as I think, this year, it's exactly what we need. We need some guys who can come in and make an instant impact, not another 18 year old kid. I still think the right deal is out there, and still have time on our side. Just don't think Sloane is our man.

The motto on here as been "In Roos We Trust"... until he trades for someone we know little about or we don't rate, then we crack the shits and the FD don't know what they're doing!
