  1. Expected result. Carlton fan is an idiot but Clarry doesn't need to respond. He can respond via the scoreboard. The incident means nothing, time to untwist our knickers and move right along.
  2. Nice to know Mark Maclure posts here these days.
  3. I get that - it was hard to put his name down, but I didn't know who else to choose. His first half was poor but I do agree that his second half was much better, and he does do some good things for us. The more I think about it the more I think someone like Stretch may miss out if Tyson gets up for the game this weekend.
  4. There is no excuse for someone yelling abuse like the Carlton supporter did, but he will need to get used to some form of abuse from the opposition due to the way he plays.
  5. This sums it up perfectly, titan. I can put aside some of the errors, mistakes etc knowing that we got over a giant hurdle today. Big, big win from the boys, and you can see that Goodwin knew it too. Nice post for 10,000 as well, mate!
  6. If Watts plays then I think Pedersen is the unlucky one to make way. Goodwin said in his press conference that T Mac will continue to play forward, and we can't have Watts, Hogan, Pedersen AND T Mac down there. I think we are fine with Frost and OMac back there with Wagner, Hibberd and even Smith playing that third tall role as well (which, in hindsight, Jetta plays as well!) We might give a Hannan a rest this week and give Kent another run, especially if Tyson plays, so I could see it being: In: Watts, Tyson Out: Pedersen, Hannan.
  7. Christian Petracca was another who slipped under the radar today, but he collected 25 possessions and 18 of these were contested as well. I like the fact that he can get his hands dirty and not just stick to doing the flashy things. He was in plenty today and shot out some handballs that set up a few of our goals. He continues to come of age.
  8. I feel like I put this in here most weeks, but: Clayton Oliver - 29 touches, 9 tackles, 15 contested possessions and 6 clearances. Clarence, we love you!
  9. Seriously? C'mon mate, the bloke deserves a little leeway in his first game back.
  10. I half expected you to squeeze Dom Tyson in there somewhere joeboy...
  11. It should also be mentioned that we needed some of our fringe players to step up today and fill the void that Tyson, Jones and Viney have left in our midfield. I thought ANB did this pretty well today. 25 touches, 2 goals and he consistently got himself into the right positions all day. He isn't the greatest kick of the footy but he knows how to find it and he was the one to step up for us today. Lewis, Vince and Melksham all did their bit as well, with Melksham and Lewis showing great leadership and experience by kicking some very crucial goals for us in the last term when we really needed them.
  12. As I said in the gameday thread, good teams find ways to win when they are playing poorly. This was our game today. Carlton beat us in many statistical areas today, but we constantly found ways to kick crucial goals and keep up the scoreboard pressure when we needed it the most. That was the difference today. Miss a few shots on goal and it halts our momentum and take away our confidence. We will have more scrappy games to come with some of our midfield generals out, and we are also going to play better sides in the next fortnight, but this shows the playing group that we can win under ANY circumstances. It creates belief in the playing group and an understanding that we can beat ANYONE.
  13. I don't care how badly we played, WE ARE IN THE TOP FOUR! My heart can't take it, but what a win that was. Missing five of our best players and we can still find a way to win. Just sensational. I don't have the ability to analyse this game at all right now, my mental state is poor. But I can't contain how happy I am with the footy club at the moment. HUGE win under the circumstances and keeps us right in the fight, not just for finals, but for a Top 4 spot as well! DEMONS!!!!!!
  14. From the king of silly comments, I'll take that as a compliment.
  15. Bit harsh on JFK. Poor bloke never saw it coming.
  16. We could be 10 goals up and you muppets would still whine about something.
  17. Good teams stay in the game, even when they aren't playing well. That's exactly what we've done.
  18. We have been outplayed, but like a good side we've stuck with them and hauled them back. They have a few injury issues and that goal gives us plenty of confidence, so there is no reason why we can't run over them in the second half. Oliver has been immense and I feel as though Lewis and Vince have stood up a little for us when it was required. Kent had a ripping second term as well which is exactly what we need, while Hoges getting a goal will give him confidence.
  19. Tex says he didn't mean to push him into the post, but that's beside the point. It still happened and you could argue the push occurred after the ball had passed them both. Happy with a week as it helps us, but still think he'll get off.
  20. How do we get Jake Lever? Cue the 'second round pick and ANB' calls from most supporters. I'd love him at the club but I can't see him leaving at this stage. The Crows do have a history of losing key defenders, though that's clutching at straws a little.
  21. Sloane walking off the ground with ice strapped to his calf - could he miss next week? Tex could potentially be rubbed out as well. It will take more than a couple of blokes missing to win next week, but it's a start.
  22. Dogs are the Leicester City of the AFL.
  23. I'm just looking forward to some footy being played this weekend. The debacle that was Friday night seems to have dragged on for a fortnight and it's good to focus on some actual football instead, even if we're missing some key players and the game will be closer than most of us would like. I disagree, as I don't think he brings much more than the others that are in there. Someone like Harmes, for example, has more strings to his bow and can play multiple positions with confidence. Not sure Trengove has that capacity, even if they have been trialling him off half back. I feel for him, but understand the decision.
  24. Hogan and Garlett wouldn't have gotten a look in had we not had the injuries? Get outta town.
  25. Is Clint Bizkit posting under an alias over there or something??
