  1. Bloody hell we're switched on here. Making the Hawks look third rate.
  2. Hogan!! Super, super handpass from Jones to get that going! We are all over them at the minute!
  3. I'll be drunk quicker if I drink after every negative comment you make, Clint. (I agree though that Bugg fumbles a bit!)
  4. And Kenty kicks our second! What a great return he's made to the senior side!
  5. Kent about to kick our first. We've received 3 early free kicks - when is the last time that happened??
  6. Looks like Jones is running with Mitchell.
  7. Going down in history as what? Seems a strange comment to me. Cheers for the updates and reports everyone. Much appreciated.
  8. [censored] Whorethorn. Dees by 10 goals.
  9. It's great watching Carlton get absolutely flogged, even if it is by North. Even after their poor start to the year the media still want to try and talk up Bolton, talk up their 'good' young players... and then they come out yet again and serve up this sort of rubbish. They are going nowhere, fast, and it's a joy to watch. Maybe SOS can recruit even more GWS cast offs at the end of the season to get them going.
  10. Josh Jenkins is worse. The biggest front running forward in footy. The moment the game is on the line he goes to water.
  11. I think Jack Fitzpatrick would be disappointed not to have his name somewhere on that plate!
  12. I said both players wouldn't be dropped. I'm not sure what you're missing here, Pates.
  13. Looks like we'll make just the one change at the moment. Garlett and Wagner won't be dropped IMO, while Fritsch, even though he was a little quieter last weekend, should hold his spot. You would think Brayshaw makes sense as an inclusion, as he would play a similar role to Tyson. The other four could all make a case for being selected, but they'll just have to wait their turn. So, for me it's: In: Brayshaw Out: Tyson
  14. Throwaway comment from Lyon. He needs someone to explain why Brayshaw isn't in the side? Why? He can't work it out for himself? Just because he should be best 22 doesn't mean he is currently in it. Many would feel that Jayden Hunt is in the best 22, yet he's running around for Casey. It happens.
  15. I'm feeling pretty good about this game. It's amazing what a win can do. I think our confidence is up, the players are very fit and hungry for the contest. We still need to fix up a few issues, and we can't allow the Hawks to kick away early as they'll put us away better than North could, but I think we are more than evenly matched. Dees by 4 goals.
  16. I think Werridee has a fetish for posting Melbourne line ups every day.
  17. Shouldn't we have heard about that by now? They had given their verdict on Sidebottom less than 24 hours after the game, so do we expect the same or do they go through it on Monday?
  18. There is some interesting discussion going on here after this win. Who would have thought, back in 2013, that we would have some gripes over a 6 goal win against a side we have struggled against for over a decade? Times change, and so do the expectations. While I'm happy with the win and even happier to get the monkey off our back, I understand where others are coming from. Our expectations for this side have gone from hoping we can be competitive right through to wanting us to be the dominant side when it counts. We aren't just looking for a good effort, or a lucky win - we are looking for us to be ruthless as a side and do what we should be doing, which is winning games and winning them well. While some feel some trepidation about our progress, I really don't think we're too far away from everything clicking. We've had to manage without two of our best players while integrating a new one in to the back line. We've had to re-jig the forward line as well in Tom McDonald's absence and we're still looking for the most effective method. All in all, we are getting closer to hitting some really good form. Our effort levels are good, our ability to win the ball has been good and we've really improved our ability to get the ball inside 50. It wasn't too long ago that we really struggled to get the ball inside 50 and now we're getting it in at a high rate. We just need to sort things out down back with our zone and begin to lower our eyes a little more and show some composure when going forward. I'm excited for the rest of the season, but I'm also in the same camp as those who are right in having higher expectations for the footy club.
  19. Why? The bloke wasn't even an emergency this weekend. And who would you drop? Very hard to make changes to a side that wins by 6 goals.
  20. I disagree with a large chunk of this, which I find surprising as I normally agree with you AF. Firstly, the Kent free kick was not there. It was an awful decision, and it left even the commentators speechless when the replay was shown. One of many terrible decisions. Secondly, pressure cannot just be read in tackles. Our ability to lock the ball in, keep it there and set up the wall was a huge reason why we won the game. Our forwards and mids tackled, harassed, shoved, bumped etc. the opposition and it worked. Thirdly, in his first game back, Kent had a ripper. 3 goals, good pressure and some good field kicking contributed massively to the win. He justified his selection big time. Lastly, our leadership is what won us the game. Lewis and Jones, in particular, really stood up for us with goals and smart play in the last term when we needed to slow the game down. Apart from one poor kick, Lewis was excellent with ball in hand while Jones put in a huge shift on the midfield for us. Take away a poor 15 opening minutes and we absolutely smashed them. It bodes well for the season ahead.
  21. If Brown went off for some length of time, or it drew blood, then I'd be worried. Brown played out the game without trouble. I reckon he got him high on the chest coming up to the chin. I think he'll be okay.
  22. Very true. It could be a clear indication for us as supporters that Goody is willing to change things up. No doubt his approach towards the game worked, as did his selections. I know some like to knock him, and he can make himself an easy target at times, but today showed that the bloke can coach, can make the right changes and be the first bloke since The Reverend to coach us to a win over North.
  23. Outside of winning a few over us in recent years, I have no idea why they get lippy about us. Most of their entire existence in this league has been a joke.
  24. I agree with this, titan. They look like a side that turns up, has a dip and knows they don't have the skills or the talent to compete with most sides. Their whole structure is struggling mightily without Riewoldt down there, as McCartin can't get near it and Bruce looks to be a shadow of a player who burst on to the scene a few years back. Their skills are deplorable and, while they have a decent back line, they find it hard to generate consistent run from their half backs. They have some tough games coming up as well, so their season may be over in 3 weeks time.
