Clarence Oliver
This makes the most sense, IF they want to manage him. It also looks like Maynard is waiting in the wings as well if we need some extra re-inforcement around the contest. But I'm banking on Oliver playing out the remaining 5 games.

Zak Jones
Yep, that's fair. I forget that sometimes. I'm certainly not against getting him, just interested to see where people think he fits in our side.

Zak Jones
Serious question about Zac and I'll preface this by saying that I really like him as a player. If we went after him and got him, who does he replace in our best 22? I feel like our best 22 is a very, very good side that would be hard for some to get into. They seem to have been playing him off half back and through the wings, so it will be interesting to see where he fits within our side if we are able to get him. I just hope we don't offer up too much in return.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Jake Spencer for Jake Lever and their first round pick. Over to you Josh Mahoney.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Is that a sensible trade scenario I see? It's like the Aurora Borealis.

It's a shame, too, as I usually don't mind his stuff. But he let his bias get in the way big time, which is evident in him having 4 Bombers in his 'AA' team.

This is also off the back of his article on Saturday about how the Bombers 'can beat anyone'. Turn it up, Velvet.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
The Blues will chase anything in orange. They can't really develop their own talent all that well, outside of Cripps, so they need to get it from elsewhere.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Or that's just Buckenara mentioning him as someone they should go after.

No doubt she'll have some leverage.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Not mine, although I'm with you in that Oscar and Frosty don't have me worried every time the ball goes in their direction. Both make the odd mistake, but then who doesn't? They are acquitting themselves well and will only get better. We do need more insurance for our backline though, so I'm not against another tall backman, but is that one Lever? I'd love him at the club but not sure we will offer an amount that will trump other clubs.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
How do we get Jake Lever? Cue the 'second round pick and ANB' calls from most supporters. I'd love him at the club but I can't see him leaving at this stage. The Crows do have a history of losing key defenders, though that's clutching at straws a little.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Has officially re-signed with the Suns. It's a two year deal, so he could be back in play in 18 months time, but it takes him off the table for now.
-
Time to show Oscar some respect!
Careful mate. The last person who started a similar hashtag has fallen off the face of the Earth, never to return. No need to give yourself the same fate!
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I don't think our efforts were towards May in the first place. If we're as keen on Lever as they say we are then you would assume we would have put all our energy towards getting him back to Victoria.

Disposal Efficiency
How can you claim it means anything when you admit yourself that the back line players get the ball under less pressure than the midfielders? You just made your own analysis redundant with that comment.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Not allowed to mate, sorry. The crux of the article is that we, along with others like the Dogs and Hawks, are interested in either Lever or McStay from Brisbane. Mentions that Garry Lyon said Lever could be worth upwards of 800k. Nothing suggests Lever wants out, just that his contract is up at the end of the year and he has delayed talks.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Herald Sun are reporting that we are going to make a big play for Jake Lever: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/jake-lever-and-daniel-mcstay-in-sights-of-victorian-clubs-in-this-years-trade-period/news-story/41488cc02f736fd6f6dc42a55b963898 Not surprising and, let's be honest, he would slot in superbly in our backline. Very interested to see how this unfolds in the coming months.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
As much as I would like him, I'm always slightly happy to see young players re-sign with their club long term. I know we have loved seeing the commitment from our younger players over the past couple of years, so to see others do it in the face of growing free agency is good to see. Even if it means we potentially miss out on a fantastic player. Our interest in Level may also be the reason why we have shown little interest in May to this point.

Jeff 'Wiz' Farmer
How that mark in the last round didn't win mark of the year is beyond me. Okay, Winston Abraham took a ripper, but no chance it was better than Farmer's.

The fifth memory can bugger right off. What a player he was. Loved the Sandy Roberts/Bruce McAvaney commentary of his 8 goals against Norf. He was Cyril Rioli before we knew who Cyril Rioli was.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
That's true, DD. I often forget that aspect when it comes to the Hawks and they've kind of shot themselves in the foot a little. If they go full rebuild they are already missing picks, but if they try and top up their list they don't have the means to do it without sacrificing a good player in the process. They have players on the list who would have currency, but they won't want to give them up. If May wants to get there then the Hawks may need to pull off an absolute miracle to get it done, but if anyone can do it then it's the Hawks.

Fair enough. I have no doubt we will be asking the questions, but it feels like we're on the periphery at the moment. I know everything. Seriously though Steve, I've drawn that conclusion from what I've heard this year. What else can I do? I'm sure we are doing our due diligence but, at the moment, it seems we're on the periphery and if Steven May does decide to leave then the Hawks are in the box seat. Doesn't mean we're out of it, but I just don't think we will see Steven May in the red and blue next season. I'd love it if he was, though.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
For all our discussion about May, it seems as though the Hawks are the only club being linked to him at the moment. That's not to say we aren't in the conversation or won't become part of it, but it doesn't look as though we have a huge amount of interest in him at present. I still feel like we need another KPD, I just don't think it will end up being Steven May.

And I'm sure you've looked for that wrong foot as well... I generally like your posts Steve, but holy hell you can be a condescending little [censored] at the best of times. Are you so much better that you are levitating above the rest of us or what?
