  1. Frost? I don't think he's in the 'bloody good player' category.
  2. Is anyone else not surprised with how bad the Saints are? I would like to think most could see them falling off a cliff the moment Riewoldt retired. That bloke is a superstar for keeping them competitive over his last few years in the game. They might have kicked a few in junk time but make no mistake, they have 1 win and 1 draw after 11 rounds and look like going nowhere. Also, thanks to the Drug Cheats for allowing the Tigers to give their percentage a huge boost. Pricks.
  3. Lever will be a big loss, but, we can't allow that to derail our season. I trust in our depth and we do have players that can come in and play their role for the team. Sure, they aren't going to be as good as Lever as not many are. But we just need to make the right changes and keep playing footy our way. Even with him off for most of the game the Doggies didn't look like scoring, although that's also down to their impotence as much as anything.
  4. The only thing against him at the moment might be his slow start to the season, although his last month has been sensational.
  5. I'd have just the three - Gawn, Oliver and Hogan. Why 3? It's the even spread of contributions from everyone in the side at the moment. The above 3 are the consistent standouts for me.
  6. I'm going to be completely unrealistic in this situation and hold out some hope that we get a better outcome than what's currently being bandied about. Because it's not confirmed there is a sliver of hope that it might only be a 4-6 week thing and not a full year. I'm sticking with that sliver of hope.
  7. Here is the usual 'drop/rest' Spargo talk that we get each week. Did you see the piece of play where he got the ball on half back, hand passed it off and then sprinted forward to make another option before hitting a target inside 50? You don't get that from Garlett, but you get it from Charlie. I hope he plays in the seniors for the rest of the season.
  8. There's a doctor in this thread who is totally overreacting. He should know the prognosis so this is extremely worrying to me. He's even diagnosed the side with 'missthefinalitis' because of it. We're doomed!
  9. I don't know who to barrack for tonight. I hate Essendon, but if they roll the Tigers we stay in second spot. Which is the lesser of two evils?
  10. This is another great example of our growing maturity and Goody and the coaches' ability to not only make changes, but to make the right changes as well. The players stopped the momentum early and we made a few changes that allowed us to not only get back into the game, but to play the game on our terms.
  11. It means in his whole career he's only played 2 finals games, the other 248 are in the home and away season.
  12. Congratulating Nathan Jones on '248 H&A games' is absolute gold. I could see that poster yelling it out as Jonesy was chaired from the ground, frustration and anger written all over his face as he has nothing else to yell out.
  13. I get the impression he is a very down to Earth fella who is extremely grateful and happy just to be playing after everything he has been through. Future leader of our club is young Gus.
  14. As a Doctor, can you give us a full diagnosis or any inside information?
  15. The only reason I think Sam Frost may get the nod is the fact that we need someone on Mason Cox. We may feel confident enough for that man to be Oscar, but I get the feeling that if he plays well tomorrow then Frost may get the nod.
  16. Slightly harsh on Trac, who I thought played his best game since he hurt his finger. He had over 20 touches and kicked a goal as well which is a positive return to form. Agree with the rest.
  17. Currently sitting in second position, pending the Tigers game tonight against the Drug Cheats. What a feeling!
  18. It was a dirty day, especially with Lever doing down, but good sides win games when things aren't going their way. We did that today and showed real maturity after it took us 15 minutes to get going. The big one for me was our back line. With Lever going down it left us with just Oscar as a tall defender, and we still kept them to a low score while also doing some wonderful things across half back. Jetta was immense, Hibberd did some good things, Lewis and Vince provided calm heads and even Harmes patrolled across there once Lever went down. It's becoming a real strength of our side. Our mids were smashed in the clearances, which was really surprising. But on the flip side they worked their backsides off once we went 3 goals down and helped to turn things around. Oliver and Gus, in particular, were fantastic. And then you have Hogan and Macca who both kicked bags and showed how awesome they can be together for a long, long time. Awesome stuff. Special mention to Bayley Fritsch as well. What a pick up this kid is. When we traded Watts for the pick we took him with we clearly knew what we were doing. 26 touches and 14 marks is a day out and he just keeps getting better and better. We are 8-3 and playing great footy. We now get an 8 day break and hopefully Lever isn't too badly injured and won't need to spend too much time on the sidelines. Bring on the Filth and our 7th win in a row!!
  19. You must be unbearable to watch a game of footy with.
  20. 11 minutes. Dogs don't even look like scoring. They have actually only kicked 3 goals since quarter time.
  21. Razor just paid a 50m penalty from 50 metres away for Salem apparently dropping the ball. What a [censored] wit.
