  1. Our boys had better be ready for a fight tomorrow. The Tigers will be roaring. Also, let's hope the Suns can deliver an upset.
  2. How do we get our hands on Toby Greene?
  3. Yep, me too. I think it may only be in special cases that he might squeeze in there to stretch a side.
  4. Yes, absolutely this!! Before his injury, Petty was starting to click as a forward, then on his "early" return was shoved into the backline again. There was substantial work put into Petty playing forward and I think it was premature to move him back. The forward line you suggested Redleg, given time playing together, would be very dangerous. We look a stronger unit with both Tommo and Petty in the side. You could easily throw Smith into the mix if we needed to go taller because I think he works hard at ground level.
  5. I think a lot of people, myself included, admire the come from behind victory which the Pies tend to do pretty regularly (for the record I hate it when they do it). Falling over the line, not so much. We did steady under extreme heat though, which is pleasing.
  6. Why is Lever on Tex?
  7. Maybe it is time for Petty to play forward and make Tommo a permanent fixture down back. I thought BBB was turning the corner a bit last week but he's off the boil today.
  8. Lever has also been quiet today.
  9. A little untidy with our disposal in the second half of that quarter. We were still winning contests but turning over the possession and squandering breaks out of the contest.
  10. I missed the first quarter. Everyone happy?
  11. Thanks Binman. Yes there was certainly a ton of loose ball in that last 10 minutes, 63% in dispute is huge!!
  12. Hey Binman, I find the pressure act data really interesting. Are you able to shed further light on when they are recorded? For example are the Dees pressure acts only recorded when the opposition has possession? I ask this because according to Fagan our boys dominated possession in the final quarter against the Lions but they still recorded our second highest pressure rating for the game. I'd love to know if there is any clear correlation between time in possession and overall pressure rating.
  13. ...and that should be their utmost priority in terms of a training venue!!
  14. This whole idea has been lifted from the NBA's play-in tournament.
  15. Add to the above, he has one of the cleanest pair of hands in the side. He is so often a one touch player even when hitting the ball at breakneck speed when you expect a fumble. What a find!!
  16. I reckon Brodie, if playing forward, may be more suited to a high CHF position where he can roam a bit more, take high half forward throw-ins and bounces etc.
  17. I suppose that's the thing isn't it. The game is played over four quarters and he does tend to fade out of games a bit. Those kind of attempts later in games are rare.
  18. Or quarter pounder? Ah that's right no cheese on those.
  19. Noting that BBB actually leapt for a mark on Friday night. A leap that raised eyebrows in my household and were immediately followed by some fairly broad smiles. Mark not taken, but meh, good signs.
  20. It sure is and every team should have to play there once if playing the Cats twice during a season. If not playing twice they should be required to alternate home games between seasons.
  21. [censored] Rivers was determined in that play, rolling through the Brisbane players like tenpins 👏, evasive run and superb delivery, just brilliant.
  22. I just love the passion in those celebrations after a goal!! He gets the crowd involved and undoubtedly lifts the team. Momentum is everything in this game. Whilst those celebrations are a small part of the game, that passion is contagious.
  23. He had some very important touches including a couple of key marks. As far as I can recall he took the best option, attacking option with each possession providing great drive off half back. He has to be one of our most athletic, if not our most athletic player.
  24. Yeah, he may not LtD. JvR's output has progressively reduced over the course of the season. I do like that he leads well and I also like his follow-up work at ground level. I think this is important to our forward line function, so Brodie will also need to do this. My concern with Brodie playing as a forward is that we will probably end up with the long bomb into the pocket game plan, which I'm not in favour of and seems to have been worked out by most clubs. Ultimately, for Brodie to be effective he will need to quickly develop forward craft and leading patterns. Given he's never consistently played as a forward I think this will be a huge challenge. Still question marks there...gee I wish Fritta was back!!! Happy we have a softish run in to the finals.
