Let's just create an environment that makes him want to stay. Win a few games next year, make it obvious we are on the up. I have no doubt that Frawley wants success, and he wants it at the MFC, and the only way he will leave is if he can't see it happening there.
-
It's true. We won 10 odd games in 2010 and all of a sudden we were supposedly the next powerhouse of the competition. For the love if god, let's win a couple early and shut these idiots up.

Lol. I usually don't mind Robbo, but that is the biggest pile of drivel I have heard in a while. The Dew comments may have merit but our trade period activity seems calculated and very well managed so far.
-
I know this has probably been touched on, but how have GWS got pick 9. I would be keener if they were both genuine mids.
-
Interesting. Sounded very diligent in the Ross Lyon article linked earlier. If this was the case, maybe the injuries gave him a wake up call.

Apparently not a good trainer. Don't think he has shown much when he has played at AFL level. I'm not overly keen on him.

Ok, makes sense. Although I remember there was some conjecture over Sylvia's status as restricted or unrestricted. You would think counting to ten would have been a pretty black and white decision. Perhaps it is just my defensive mechanism kicking in and predicting Band 4.
-
I fear Band 4 compo will be the case. My reasons are that B&F results and old and new contract size come into play. As we know Colin has a pretty woeful record in club B&Fs, he obviously wasn't on a massive contract if he was an unrestricted free agent (i.e. he would have been restricted if he was in the top handful of earners at the club), and lastly, he didn't leave for Freo because of a big contract offer, he left to chase premierships and finals footy, meaning he signed for similar, perhaps even less money. But anyway, we will see. Hopefully Band 3.
-
He wouldn't be a free agent next year. He would be out of contract and could walk into the uncertainty of the draft but he wouldn't be a free agent. But you are right that if they think he might leave in 12 months, they might be better off trading him now while they have the fallback of the year remaining on his contract.

I know we like to talk about things we have no idea about here on Demonland, but I think Rohan Bail's state of health takes the cake. Just let the club and Rohan sort this one out.

The answer to question 1 is yes. And question 2, not quite sure what point you are trying to prove. Do you think those in power at West Coast watched Adam Simpson coach, or most other senior coach appointments for that matter. They just have to interview, gather as much info as they can, and make the best decision they can.

Must admit that this was the thought that came to my mind aswell

Nick Smith is a very good small defender. Not overly attacking but doesn't get beaten. In saying that, it would to be one or two more decent players to part with pick 2.

First trade period by any chance?
-
I have no more reason to believe your version of events as opposed to those that are more positive, but I think this will be pretty close to the mark.
-
I actually don't think that contract and trade are overs. Tom Rockliff is an absolute gun. Polled an arseolad of votes in the Brownlow, gets a lot of the ball and can go forward, and is still young. Our salary cap has to go somewhere and I would rather give a big chunk of it to a gun like Rockliff than front load contracts of the current under achievers.
-
Anyone who thinks this is a good thing are in denial. And I can almost guarantee we will all be left underwhelmed when the compensation is announced.
-
Pros - ball winning mid who kicks the odd goal, and already has a defensive side to his game unlike many draftee mids Cons - American accent No from me.
-
The Toumpas is soft notion makes me chuckle. He isn't a Jack Viney but he isn't soft. I am more confident in Toumpas than I am in most other 'potential' players, especially if his hips are ok. A rest for his body and a full pre season should give him the base he needs.
-
I would happily trade pick 2 for him, but that's just me. I think he is being underrated in here. You can't get quality like him without parting with something decent. I have him ahead of Scott Selwood, Swallow, Adams etc.

Kirky is at Freo
-
Not a big wrap on him. He is not the worst but not worth picking up.

An idea so crazy it might work - Tebow time

You are right about Phil Taylor. He is a freak. MVG and Adrian Lewis can score aswell as him but he barely ever misses his checkouts. It is quite unbelievable, especially in big matches at the Worlds, Premier League etc. I know people will laugh off darts but that is serious pressure.
