  1. Thats the worrying bit. If the likes of Oliver, Brayshaw, Melksham aren't buying in and just jogging, it's up to the coaches to drive the culture and get them to buy in to the game plan. Why would a player buy in to our current game plan? Anyone?
  2. Might be reasonably competitive in the NEAFL!
  3. Passengers everywhere. Sparrow, Jones, Jetta and Weid / Brown have to come in.
  4. Watching this team every week is like being loaded into a shopping trolley at the top of a steep hill. It can start really exciting but by halfway through you realise you're totally out of control and about to crash and burn. Lucky the coach is there to take you back up the top to give you some learnings and send you down in the trolley again.
  5. Geez I hate those ridiculous 50m frees. gifted goal to the cats
  6. I think our list management is alright. We have the talent, but we're very good at ruining it. Chaos ball doesn't really bring out the best in most people. Kent is much better at St Kilda, Howe much better at Collingwood because they have better structure and game plans.
  7. Yep, thought the same last week when they beat the Tiges. Transformed their game over summer. Good brand of footy. They're a much better team than us now.
  8. Yep, I agree. Send them all to the NT. Can we sell all of our games up there? Haha
  9. As Roy and HG would say. Footballers are class A citizens!
  10. Yep, Id like to ask the same type of question about all of our targets and what he believes needs to happen to each one. OUR AMBITIONS FOR 2020-2023 MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB STRATEGIC PLAN 2020-2023 1. ON-FIELD PERFORMANCE • Play in AFL and AFLW Finals each year • Win at least 1 AFL and 1 AFLW Premiership 2. FINANCIAL • Deliver a combined $4m profit over 4 years • Eliminate debt • $30m + of income producing assets 3. OUR PEOPLE • To have a culture that inspires excellence and attracts new talent 4. OUR FANS • Grow to 75k members • MCG home game average crowds of 50k + 5. OUR FACILITIES • Finish construction of high-performance facility at Casey Fields • Start construction of new Melbourne home base facility
  11. I started counting clean possession chains after the first quarter. I.e. clean kicks to a team mate or handpasses to a team mate in clear space (not standing still 1m away). The longest possession chain I saw was 4 clean kicks and one clean handpass in a 5 possession chain which led to a goal. I didn't see anything else close for the day.
  12. To those who said we weren't that bad yesterday. Get ready to grab your ankles.
  13. I love the way he always made contact with opponents even after they had disposed of the ball. Just enough to let them know he was there. He's super quick but tough as nails as well.
  14. Wow. An opponent wanting to keep possession? Just wow. Glad we don't play that rubbish style.
  15. Nah, had the misfortune of watching the saints beat the tiges. They were fantastic. Hard at it all game and really skillful by foot. Theyve zoomed past us.
  16. Yep. This is not and never has been about a 2nd tall forward. This is all about structure and delivery into the forward line. [censored] and moan all you like about 10m kicks. Geelong just delivered it into their forward line with direct accurate chip kicks. Wont make a difference who comes in next week when we just keep bombing it in. Even with 60 seconds to go.
  17. I wonder if we're sunk Chook. How do we afford a new coach and pay out Goody? I think the murderer will be more than happy to see our club fold or be relegated. How can a brand of football like this bring in crowds or ratings.
  18. Honestly believe we've got the talent but the problem we've got seems to be leadership and coaching. It's just total confusion. But we don't have the $ to pay out Goody and to contract a good new coach. The AFL won't bail us out again.
