NON-MFC: Round 10
I thought they may have had to check people's phones behind the goal then for that review. Just awesome

NON-MFC: Round 10
This is so good. Missed the first half playing trivia at the local brewery and winning an ice cold slab of beer. Cracking a couple of cans now withy wonderful wife and having a quiet chuckle. Gimme more coach box vision!

Maybe they didn't like the font on his 45 slide PowerPoint presentation on where they screwed up.

NON-MFC: Round 10
Must have been a fantastic lecture by Scott during the week. Seems to be making a really good impression. His jocks must be riding right up his clacker.

NON-MFC: Round 09
"We take the opportunity to educate our clubs and in turn be educated." I'm sure the AFL were well and truly educated by that whining pratt. I pity gold coast who are playing the cats this weekend.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast
Exactly If Kossie can kick his own ball forward to a pack and then crumb his own kick to kick a brilliant goal on the run, why can't Max? A couple of sprint sessions this week to get him running faster than Mach Pickett and some 50km endurance sessions in the afternoon. He'll be cherry ripe come Sunday. Or maybe send him off on a run this arvo across the Nullarbor to Perth. Harden him up a bit more. That way he'll avoid the physical degradation of those horrendous 4 hour flights. Love you Maxy 😜 Go Dees

Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
Didn't Rivers have to come off with the blood rule after being belted by Curnow? They stopped play. Then the ball was thrown up and a free given against Max yeah? As for the rules committee. The only problem with them at the time was that to feel like they were doing their job, they kept changing rules. They introduced some stupid ones. The MFC does not make enough noise with these poor umpiring performances. We're way too polite.

Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
The hands in the back is ok to hold your ground / push in the back not paid issue really gets to me. Some players are being shoved in the back and sent head first into a pack off balance. Someone is going to get badly hurt. I'd also add. Tacklers (usually multiple) dragging the ball back under a player who possessed it but has gone to ground and has tried to knock it clear along the ground. If the tacklers are dragging it back under the player on the ground, they're really HTB and should be penalised. Also Ruck nominations. Just get rid of them. Only one player from each team can jump for a ball. Just throw it up. This waiting for a ruckman to catch up from 20 metres away is just plain dumb.

Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
You could flip it and say as we started playing better footy, we got more frees. Apart from the inconsistency in adjudication, the thing that gets me is where the kicks are paid. Without going back and watching it, I'm pretty sure they got two pretty soft ones in front of goal in the first quarter which resulted in goals. Even if they could be more consistent I'd be happy. It's just like the MRO decisions we see week in, week out. The inconsistency leaves it all open to doubt. Turn it into a proper career path, pay them properly and drop them for poor performances. Definitely interested in that statistical analysis. Just need to look at it all on a bigger screen.

Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
One of the blues defenders just walked it over the goal line at one stage too. Three Carlton players there and no Dee's within 10 metres.

So who reckons Newman will get rubbed out for his elbow to ANBs jaw? Late, left the ground. I reckon he'll get a fine. Because Carlton. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/live-afl-scores-2024-carlton-blues-vs-melbourne-demons-round-9-updates-stats-video-how-to-stream-watch-news-blog/news-story/53a0904ddc0a2d7d0ca5e4062062263a

Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
So, what are you all going to do about it? Don't rely on the club, they obviously won't. They never have. How about giving some feedback to the AFL yourselves. Seriously, if we want change, we need to take action ourselves. (Booing like Carlton fans doesn't count ) Anyone want to drag up the email address for the head of umpiring and the AFL ceo? I'm happy to give direct feedback. We didn't deserve to win but... we would have with effective umpiring DM me, their email address. They are politicians. 200 demonlanders lodging their feedback directly might make them do something about the woeful standards of umps and cryptos.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Yep May's touched that ball. Listening to BT complain about how hard it is to tell from the vision WHEN HE WORKS FOR THE NETWORK THAT THE AFL RELIES UPON TO ADJUDICATE GOAL REVIEWS. JVRs legitimate tackle and ultimate disallowed goal. Umpire 22 paying a htb kick against Petracca dead in front with less than a minute to go. Of course it was him ump 22. However.... We missed some sitters. We were horrible in the first qtr. How does Walsh keep getting it so easy by us. Congrats to Michael Voss. He has them playing like triple premiership lions. So tough through the midfield and the equivalent of Brown and Lepptich up forward. God help us if he gets hold of an akermanis. The silver lining. That second defeat may sting more than last year's final. We came back a long way under greasy conditions. We had them. We know we can smash them and underneath it all, Carlton knows it too. Christian Petracca almost single handedly won us the game. A whole new level for him.
