  1. Thanks LG That's a new word for moi. And a very funny one. Although I suspect not so much for the suspect.
  2. Would love to see a fit Petty playing forward all year.
  3. When he's on he's electric. Hope to see some more consistentency this year. Exciting player.
  4. Thanks L G The big take away from last year was we almost made it with a plethora of injuries. I'm confident we will be top four again this year as well.
  5. Not to take anything away from our sublime 2021 flag but it's now Sixty years since we have won a granny at our home ground. Let's hope after dropping out in straight sets two years in a row we can win this year. I dearly want to be able to attend a grand final with us winning. Do most of us think we will be in the mix again?
  6. Quiet season for Spargo. Hoping he gets back to his best in 24. Actually Kozzie and Anb had quiet ones as well. Chandler started in a fanfare and disappeared. Kozzie still scored goals but didn't seem to impact games like last year. But back to Spargo, I will say he always finds a teammate with his pin point disposals.
  7. Brian Wilson was one of my favorite players. Those other names were more than handy too.
  8. Interesting choice of best. It accounts for quite a bit In the backline Salem returned on a blaze of glory and then quickly faded away. Tommo was short changed in terms of selection ......big time. Oliver, Langdon and Hunter all had very much less than stellar seasons. No arguments about that. Then we have Petty and Fritta' struggling big time with significant foot injuries. Anb was down on form as was Kozzie.so in the scheme of things it really was an incredible effort that we did so well.
  9. Yes. Quite Ironic. Many believed that the return of Barassi would herald a new dawn.
  10. Guessing you caught the Shiraz though Uncle.
  11. As long as you whispered " go Dees" to them all day it will have been more than worth it.
  12. Nice words mate. Straight back to you Merry Christmas and best wishes to you and all the all the other good people on this good site. Hell tis the season.... even to the tossers here who have given me the facepalm emoji over the year. All the best.
  13. After the passion has cooled, we did pretty well given all our fwd line injuries.
  14. From the old French..... sorcerer. Perhaps to put under a spell.
  15. Never understood why we didn't keep Hore. Glad he's back. Thanks PickettFence.
  16. I hope he has 22 sons.
  17. Bonus points for using the word ensorcelled.
  18. Bbb is a wild card. A fit a firing Bbb would make a world of difference but I feel he's a long shot. (Tmac even much longer). Therefore playing Petty forward seems like a fait accompli. So Turner full-time is a good fit but is Tommo a better option? Would love to see what Jefferson airplane can do but maybe he needs more time at Casey. Besides Max probably needs some help in Fullerton playing. Can Fullerton be a forward for us? I'm not fully sold on Laurie as yet but here's hoping he has a stellar season. I wish we had found a proven big forward to replace an aging Tmac and Bbb. We have to hope Petty' s body is up to the job. It will be exciting for sure if it is. He hasn't really had much time forward but the game when he kicked those six goals shows he could be the next dominant ff for us. I have high hopes for Jvr this season too. He has come a long way in a short amount of time. A lot to look forward to this season. I feel confident of playing finals again.
  19. Gus is a big game player. He smashed the 21 granny and on that basis losing him was a huge factor in losing against Pies. Also the inexperienced Laurie as the sub was not a good selection IMHO.
  20. I'm still angry about this whole " event." I'm convinced that we would have won that game if this deliberate act didn't occur. Collingwood won a final from pure thuggery. Nothing new. Then got lucky with an incredibly bad umpiring call in the dying stages of the grand final. So much noise about us losing in straight sets when the real story was a known dirty player took out one of our best. Nothing new. And now we get a delayed, vague attempt after the act by the Afl to somehow try and show they care. Too little, too late. Nothing new. If it wasn't the greatest game in the world, I would try and find an alternative. What a shame we have buffoons in charge of it.
  21. It's getting to be the case for a few I'd say.
  22. Baptized by Mfc royalty. Nice.
  23. Your healthy hatred for the Dons is commendable compared to mine. Does it stem from 2000 ?
