  1. Thanks Titan. Remove Gc and Giants and Fitzroy and it's the usual stuff. Pies three times. What a joke.
  2. We are always in the wings when the fixture needs to be plugged somewhere. Same old venues and travel every year.
  3. There's one who is particularly hard on Melbourne. Can't stand him. He's been around for a while too. I won't name him. Suffice to say he looks somewhat like a foetus. On a more positive note, I don't mind Razor Ray.
  4. I guess it needs it's own thread.* All hail Glen Maxwell. Maybe now we are a chance to beat the hosts.
  5. Sounds like you really enjoyed it as well LH. Before anyone says it was only Afghanistan, it should be said they have some very good players. The fact that every other Aussie batsman failed is proof of their bowling prowess. It's true that Afghanistan's bowlers were loose at times but that was simply down to the pressure of Maxy smacking them all over the ground. Seeing him stand there on one leg was as #WcW mentioned , inspiring. Forget Bazball. #ilovemaxball.
  6. I think the Indian crowd was mostly pro Afghanistan. But you could hear and see their allegiance change as Maxy went about his business. He was cheered on in the end. And why wouldn't they.
  7. About the same here. I think I lasted until Starc was out. Came on here to vent and saw Ncs post about Maxwell. Wth. Probably the Best knock in any format . Great support from Captain Cummings. But Maxwell on one leg just standing there and swatting them over the fence was sublime. The guy had bowled ten overs in 40 degree heat and then comes out and makes a double century. All after a week of concussion. SA and India fans must be sweating now.
  8. You can watch a good highlights package on YouTube. I tuned out when we were 7 down. Came here to post and read Neil Compton's post and then the highlights. Has to be the best innings ever.
  9. Starc ended up bowling a fair amount of old slop.
  10. Top delivery from Starc.
  11. This game is now a real danger one. Afghanistan have some quality spinners. We look very flat.
  12. I didn't know it was an issue of one's religious affiliation.
  13. Both those Pies results don't reflect the real game.
  14. Too bad if you forget the box. It's a tough rule.
  15. Tx Wcw. I agree Test matches are where it's at but T 20 is not too bad for simple entertainment. And the Indian Premier League has done a lot for making cricket popular again.
  16. The odds shortened a bit today but at the time of posting backing the field each for a place would have given a modest return due to third place Sheraz. Two days ago it was @ $ 27 for a place. Throw in the other winners and it wasn't too shabby.
  17. It's a strange rule. I wonder if it applies to all formats. I mean limited over games are a tad different to a game played over 5 days. In The NZ / Pakistan game with the rain coming into the result it makes some sense but seems pretty stiff in a test match. And bowlers often slow games down with over rates. It reflects poorly on the team appealing for it for me.
  18. * Couldn't be stuffed.
  19. For a game that's supposedly played between gentlemen, there are a surprising number of unsavory incidents.
  20. Sometimes not dropping a game builds ironic pressure.
  21. Still probably better than the slop they serve up from the good people at Netflix. New releases read like a list of Hollywood classics from the forties. It's now become a collection of b grade movies from Mongolia and 500$ "doco series" about mass murderers. The only people who this defunct streaming service appeals to these days are executive Producers.
  22. My tip is the French horse Absurde.
