Um that was woke mate and rightly so. A complete oversight by myself, adult add and pre coffee post. Apologies to all especially the great female posters . Thanks for pointing it out, and at the risk of sounding Woke, being woke isn't a negative thing, as ironic as this sentence is. Which makes me scratch my head at Floridas governor ( the one vying for the Usa's top job) stating.."I declare a war on Woke". God forbid Florida has people doing and saying what's right.

Sorry gents its whinge time for me. Is our Tio stadium game against the Giants worth it? In the literal sense it's worth it, ie financially. I know the club makes more money by the relocation but I'm thinking more about the effects it probably has on the teams energy levels. I do believe in the first five of our games this year, the 3 interstate games must have taken some toll on the players. Not so much the short flight to Adelaide but flying to Brisbane and Perth would have taxed the players somewhat. It can be argued the gather travel is not relevant as all clubs do it but not necessarily so close to two other big trips. With the Tio game we play 7 interstate games not including the gather game and a trip to kardinia which is just as bad. Why is it bad?...the fact that we are only one of 4 Vic clubs to play there says something. It's a tough gig with the cats huge success rate there. So it's 8 interstate and a trip to Geelong. I guess in summary I'm thinking out loud that since the Tio game is in our power to stop, it should be played at the Mcg. The negatives of travelling is difficult to quantify but I'm sure it has some relevance to the ultimate factor of playing a granny....the number of wins. If rescheduling the Giants game to the G, increases our chances for a win and maybe preserves our energy for the next game, we should do so. Yes $ are important but in this so called flag window, we should see the flag first and cash later. It's been a good spectacle in the past and provided much needed funds. But we are a bettervteam now and ultimately it's about enough points to play finals and getting that elusive cup. Go for the cup Mfc.

I say keep it but I think they could have a 25 m penalty used in conjunction. Not all infractions deserve the same penalty. Just saying.

No wonder the saints are top of the ladder. 5 out of their six games and wins have been in Melbourne. Only losss was the gather round which does not count as a travel game since we all did it. Now they have 2 more games in Melbourne. Best draw in the comp.- Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
I'd love to see that spew aimed at Toby green. What a signature move.- Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache

It's a worry that neither tmac or bbb took their chance for a definitive spot in the seniors. Anyone that doesn't think we have a forward line problem is kidding themselves. Thank goodness for Jvr stepping up but he's still a young unknown. Not saying he won't perform but it's not guaranteed and we don't know at what level. He's only got 5 games in fgs. Kozzie is up and down and Fritta though ok isn't where he used to be at. Credit to Goody for trying the Petty option but as much as always hoped for it, he wasn't really up to it. Maybe with Gawn back in he will help out but his kicking still worries me. If we are going to win a flag thus year we definitely need either Tmac or Bbb to come good or a long shot in Schache. And it needs to happen soon. Our fwd line fell apart last year and it saw us drop out in straight sets. Any suggestions?- Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years

- I didn't realise Grundy was this good.
I think he's been good. His tap work especially. He does need to take more marks.- What they are saying at Arden Street

Was talking to a mate today who knows several veterans. He reckons they all think there's been a recent resurgence over the last 10 years in the interest and respect for the day. At my local Rsl in Bulli Nsw which isn't a big suburb of Wollongong, there was close to 600 to 700 people at 5.15 in the morning. I'd say that was pretty uniting. I hope you enjoyed the one near you. I understand your near St Kilda Rd, so close to the Shrine of remembrance which is supposed to be a great service. Cheers.- Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium
Great observations. The club has done some wonderful recruitment and investment in Rivers, Mcvee, Bowey, Jvr and Chandler. 5 players who probably have the collective total games of less than maybe 60 odd.- POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
I know our win looked scrappy and rough. There were several mistakes and bad decisions. But on reflection the game is no ordinary one. The special day and crowd are never conditions that are conducive to a perfect win. And credit to Ricmond in the pressure they applied. Also we have constantly through injuries been rotating players. It takes time for them to find form and allow systems to work properly. Add in our travel and some shocking umpiring( not the frees paid but the inconsistency in the ones not paid to us) and the win seems more respectable. The big upside was Jvr who kicked 3 in the last. Could have been 4. Not many youngsters in their 4th game who have been nullified all night by their opponent, shake it off and do that before 80k people. Jack is back and is having a bumper season. Gawn stepped in after an injury and several weeks off and reminded us why his work ethic and contested marking are so integral to us. Lever ditto. The youngsters Mcvee and Chandler continue to impress. Our forward line has a bit of room to improve. We just need Bbb to come back and play at his best and Kozzie to do what we know he can. Winners are grinners again.- NON-MFC: Rd 06 2023
