  1. Thanks DZ. MJ in my book is still a complete unknown quantity based on the fact he hasn't played a minute of AFL. I hear others hold high hopes for him. I' ll certainly pay Turner and it's a big oversight on part. He's definitely showed enough that he's a real wildcard. He's very strong and plays bigger than he is . He's also a dead eye at goal kicking. Like Roo and Kozzie seems to have a have a little bit of mongrel in him which some of the elites have. Although it's a fine line with Kozzie. I think Fritta displays the correct amount of " controlled mongrel.' I most completely can't add Tmac and Petty into the mix like you have. Tmac has been quite outspoken regarding this and his body has supported his position. He's done very well returning to a defender and age doesn't usually allow the reverse of this. As for Petty, it's his body that has spoken volumes about his sojourn up forward. He's simply not strong enough and he's not experienced enough. Doesn't bring his skills of reading the ball like he did defending. Chin has showed cameos of brilliance but doesn't keep the runs on the board. Seems to start with a bang. Thought he was going to be a gun. Still some time left I suppose As for Tracca, he's required to play in the middle, especially if we play Kozzie in his best spot. As for the others Langford and Johnson, it's early days at a new club so I'll hold off. In summary I don't think its really a big stretch to argue that not a great deal has changed. In fact it's pretty clear to me and a few media pundits that this, with the one of the greatest midfield duets about having some issues, could cost us a final' s spot again. That's why a lot depends on Roo and Kozzie for me. But yea, again tx for putting Disco into the equation. MJ is a bonus player for me. No expectations but he could tear things up. I hope so. But in terms of improving and impact I'm putting my Euros on Van Rooyen. Also I'm really expecting a big year from Fritta. He seemed to be playing well below his best last year. I want more energy and intensity with a lot more chasing, tackling and other pressure acts. He seemed to be jogging after way too many players last season and it's not just poor playing, it doesn't inspire his mates. So technically while there is a good mix of some great talent, it's an issue of it combining and the coach commandeering the best from them all. Let's hope Goody and his staff have enough juice in them to get us another sweet flag. Cheers.

  3. His success will play a huge part into us making finals this year Despite our recruiting I feel our fwd line is still suspect. I feel we need a really big year from Roo this year. Petty has the talent but doesn't seem to have the mindset to be a successful fwd. Also I don't think he is strong enough. If we had the luxury of playing Trac permanently and constantly fwd it would also make a huge difference. Same with Kozzie. All eyes on Roo. Maybe a fit and firing Spargo may help too.
  4. I think I'll go around kayo and get a digital Membership from the Mfc. I used to have an interstate Ms bit let it lapse due to financial pressure. I think I'll get it again just to support the club even if I don't get to any games. It's not really that much.
  5. For what it's worth even with the price increase Kayo is still pretty good value I share the cost of mine with my next door neighbor. I don't know if they have any proximity codes to stop this sort of thing but as of the end of last year, my neighbor could still log into my account. I don't know someone can log into another account in a location a fair way from another's. Thankfully my neighbor is a league fan and our viewing never crashes. Giving extra money to Mr Murdoch doesn't fill me with cheer. No apologies to any fans of him.😀
  6. Thanks for that. I thought the Lions was cheaper but I could indeed have been wrong.
  7. Why is the Mfc digital Membership so expensive? People buy it to support the club and watch Kayo. Times are tough. I've heard it's cheaper for other clubs.
  8. I was referring to the nursery rhyme.
  9. So glad I could return the favor. There was no argument...just a statement of fact. We recruited two incredibly successful players . So your wrong. The time element is immaterial. Nothing was flawed except of course your claim that I was. Can you just let it go. I'm sure others are tired of it .
  10. Once, given the quality of the lad it was a great return. Actually I think it was two....Wight and Stynes. Wow. Plus it paved the way for others in different clubs. Give it a rest mate. It's getting boring.
  11. I'm guessing as a spokesperson for Cotton on, he won't be raising sheep on his new farm. Sorry ET, I'll show myself out.
  12. Tom McDonald has one.
  13. Of course they are. And if not, as ardent Melbourne supporters, it falls upon us to perpetuate them regardless. Ps just wondering what they are,?
  14. It's the big bash that does me in. The constant koo ees and chants. WTH. As for footy it's the greatest game in the world and doesn't need soundtracks or bytes or songs.
  15. I don't mind if they shorten them. As long as they give us back five quarters to make up for it. Oh wait. Doh.
  16. If only the club can wrangle a Ben and Jerry's sponsorship deal.
  17. Your not alone. The cost of living these days is intense. My 19 yol son is eating his weight in food and it ain't cheap. I'm sure the club is hemorrhaging members as a result of inflation. Some of these players don't know how lucky they are with their salaries. And yet 2024 saw record crowd numbers.
  18. I will continue to support our club by eating as much burgered beef as possible.
  19. If only I had a quid for every post that opens with the word rubbish. Great to have passion but it comes across as fairly arrogant IMHO. Can we all try and take it down a notch or two this year. Let's make Dl a positive and enjoyable site for everyone in 2025 you bunch of.....
  20. No doubt about Chef, it's going to be interesting watching how are forward lines goes. I thought Jvr would have a better season than he did last year but he went ok. I was hoping he may be the next Curnow. Big call but it's still early days. Having been forced into the middle was probably disruptive to his craft. Petty is still a huge concern for me if He plays forward. And I want to see more effort ....more chasing and pressure acts from Fritta who sometimes didn't seem to give his all. I want Kozzie closer to the goals as much as possible.
  21. I see him pretty much as a winger in a permanent role. He is one player that I'm keen to see play. I think he will be one of our future stars. Off topic , I'm keen to see what Disco does this year. I hope we see him dominating up forward. And I'm enthusiastic about young Brown too.
  22. There is still a hell of a lot of talent on our list but I think my call of sixth may be a generous one. I'm concerned about a few things now that I've read and reflected on a few things. Our backline is still rock solid although last year it didn't perform as well as some other seasons. Salo has been in and out of form due to injury or illness. Hasn't been that great weapon of his accurate and penetrating kicks out of trouble I don't think Bowey has been the same since his shoulder injury. May isn't getting younger and Petty has been used up forward. Thankfully some new blood has stepped up and even some old in Tmac re reinventing himself down there. Moving to the middle will be where most of us are looking at. Rotating Nibbler through there is no longer a powerful option. Oliver.....well who knows what he will do. There is a cloud over Tracc. What impact his recent injuries and issues will have? Sparrow hasn't really gone to the next level. And we have kept players like Billings. Up forward ...a constant source of angst for most supporters is also a mystery. Where will all our goals come from? I look at our flag and we had so many goal scorers in Tmac, Bbb, Snb, Kozzie, Tracc Spargo and Jackson. Who will score them all in 2025? I'm going out on a limb calling position l 6 because I'm hoping Tracca, Oliver and Viney and Max play like they did four years ago and are the propellant of our success. That our backline doesn't suffer too many injuries and stands firm for another season. Up forward I'm hoping for a breakout year for Jvr and Petty to surprise us all. There are a few others not least of all, Fritta who I am expecting to be up there on the Coleman ladder. I mean it's a case of finishing top 4 to 6 or completely imploding and finishing bottom 4. I believe Goody will extract enough talent out of what is still a strong list . Am missing footy so much. The test matches were awesome but the big bash just doesn't do it for me.
  23. In typical Australian fashion a Happy Oz day declaration doesn't get done till after one. So Happy Australia Day. The greatest country in the world not just because it's girted by sea, but because of mateship, courage, fairness and loyalty. All the attributes of the Mfc. And it's people. Like Mr N. Daniher. Cheers.
  24. Don't forget to swing by the clinic on the way home from the airport big fellow. And remember too, to send cards to all the little Uncles on their birthdays. Cheers Litd.
