Jackson said we still have enough money to bye 1 more gun. I would go for Sloane before Gaff but it would be great to get either of them.

Cue that annoying fuken ‘can’t we have both’ meme.

Whats going on with Sydney? Is this where they start their run of loses for the year, b4 winning the last 10 straight to play in yet another finals series.....

or maybe just jet lag from Cat park last week...

I know right? The skills from both teams has been horrible.

On another note, is it better for us for Sydney or Norf to win?

It is a stronger team but there are form gaps and pace gaps, plus a few who could be very strong against the Saints team that have been overlooked/omitted. I feel that Garlett could have learned his endeavour lesson, Pedo's strength is needed in the fwd line and although largely meaningless, the 'on paper' setup of the fwd line with Hoges at CHF is not a good start. TMac needs to be at CHF with Hoges at FFWd. Another tall / ruck respite needs to be on the bench - unless Goodwin plays the FPocket changes for rucks. Lever just aint a CHB playing better as a floater off the flank for intercepts. The centreline looks slow where the Saints are speedy, and there is concern about the team playing both the slowing Vince and Lewis in the same team, and the ill-directing Tyson across the midline - once again asking a little too much of Jones and Oliver to account for the midfield drive - so lotsa long bombs are going to be the flavour of the MFC gameplan. If TMac was played at the CHB position, and the speed was centred from HFwd into the deep Fwd line, it might work through the release of Hogan, Pedo, Weideman and the smalls like Hannan, Fritz, Spargo and Garlett. at the incomings and bringing the ball to ground. Hibberd needs to be used as the backline utility from the HBFlank to maximise our chances of crossing the centre to the Fwd line setups as reliance on Tyson's kicking and Lewis' speed is rather shaky. Frosty may have been considered to re-stock this HB drive from the bench., as well, instead of Harmes. Just an opinion.... Petracca needs to be 'centred' for midline drive to the fwds and to receive that from the backs - a two-way target for the whole team.

    Whoa.

    I did ask , I suppose.

How about we chat again tomorrow evening?

According to the MFC site, this is the team for the match against StKilda.

    It is a worry.

    Why is it a worry?

I had Brayshaw a couple of years ago on my card and he barely got on the ground with all the concussion issues he had that year.

I’ve since decided it was all my fault and I jinxed him so I go with the generic card these days.

Yep. Sorry guys, it’s all my fault Hunts been not great this year.

I’m also 0-3 for live games attended (Gee, Haw, Rich).

Ill just go hide under a rock

Not sure I rate Gary's football intellect too highly though. I think it's a terrible idea as he's a turnover merchant back there, but a gun up the other end.

I'm now at the stage of viewing it as akin to playing Hogan back. The guy is one of the straightest kicks for goal I can remember since moving forward. Why not play him there the whole time?

Again, I agree Toms best footy is played forward. But surely it’s a handy weapon to be able to swing him back if the [censored] hitting the fan for whatever reason, structural, injury or otherwise.

I know old Gaz isn’t much chop, just found the concept interesting.

He is so much better forward.

I cringe when he's down back and feel utterly at ease when he's forward.

And the guy has this knack of the ball following him, which is great when he's in the forward 50 and stuff of nightmares when he's in the defensive 50..

I agree with the first sentence, but thought there is merit in the idea of him being a ‘good old fashioned swing man’ as discussed by G Lyon on the couch. They call him a ‘utility’ after all , why not utilise as required?

  8. Just watched replay. A few thoughts:

    - Lever’s reaction on 3 q time when whatshisname played on and dropped the ball on the siren. Passive aggressive/ Hilarious!

    - Anyone here from the cheer squad? After Tmacs second goal in the last quarter, theyre waving a big picture of Jeffy Garlett  in the crowd. Wouldn’t you just bring it out for the day when he’s actually playing?! Cheersquad needs to lift.

    - Love a frothy milkshake

    - Gawn copping a spray from that [censored] wit Bummers fan and giving it back after scoring a goal. Was that [censored] stain ejected? Disgraceful.

    - Essendrug are a shitful rabble.

    - Our back line seems to be gelling. Less face palm moments.

    - Watching Joe ‘the lip’ Daniher ineffectually flap around like a intellectually challenged Labrador is always a viewing treat!

    - Spargo has the mongrel.

Since 2005 we have played 1 home game against Essendon. Why is this? it is absolutely appalling. Another example of the stupid nature of the "Fixture"

Good question Jnr. Is there an economic reason, some arrangement between the clubs we don’t know about?

Or is it just the evil corrupt AFL head honchos in their ivory Tower conspiring to [censored] the MFC and help out the Bummers in every way possible?

I think the structure of our side is almost right.  We miss Viney and T Mac, and our some of our fringe players are well down on confidence, but I like how we set up tonight.  Weideman straightened us up, did some good things and wasn't disgraced when he pinch hitted in the ruck either.  Lever played his best game for the club and linked up well with O Mac, while Jetta and Hibberd looked much better as well.

Add in two of our leaders and get our confidence back up and we're back in the season.  However, that's going to take some tweaking of the game plan and some hard work over the next few rounds for that to happen.

Wise, you’ve got some serious zen going on dude, hats off.

Nashers OP sums it up for me. Right now I’m on the [censored] edge.

    Good -

Levers game, Wagner’s 1st q, Omac 1 on 1 , Melksham finding the goals, clarry carries on, Gawns dominance, Weeds endeavour, Hibberd and Jetta finding some form, Jones as usual, (flashes of) hunts pace off half back

    Bad-

Gawns bloody hitouts to nowhere, stretch and nibbler playing like U12s, Hogan’s marking/decision making/post hitting (but involved) , Garletts (lack of) game, Harmes playing tough guy/hero, Trac nowhere, Kent hammy, Tyson critical turnovers, the good old every bloke up for the pack mark trick, Bernie cooked, long periods of ball inside forward half with no reward

    Ugly -

ANOTHER PATHETIC ROLLOVER, predictable long down the line ball movement, skills, seemingly broken game plan, having the horribly catchy ‘Tigerland’ song stuck in my head for 48 [censored] hours

    Im going to bed now.
