Gerard Healey needs a tap on the shoulder.

I was listening to SEN on Friday evening pregame (I think it was), and his negative, cantankerous pontificating ended up with Tom Morris (of all people) having to apologise to listeners on the networkโ€™s behalf. A serious faux pas. Getting into Trump areas.

Further, the DeeBrief poddy recently mentioned an interview with Healy where he came across as a self-entitled [censored].

    Off to the glue factory.

  2. We can have both, but the timing is too jarring. I reckon just play the walkout banger (eg; Hells Bells, Sandman, whatever) PAST the point of players running through the banner. Let it play out whilst the players sprint over to their warm-up area, kicking balls at goal, crowd going crazy, music still pumping THEN flick over to GOF.

I remember this happened by accident a few years ago, just 15-20 seconds beyond the banner break, and it was a lot more powerful.

  3. Despite the heartbreak, I thought it was a cracking game and a huge effort by our girls who did themselves proud.

As well as my daughter, I took my mum along today for her first W game, and her first live game of footy since 1973 when my Filth father took her to Vic Park to climb the fence and stand on empty tinnies to get a view. She said โ€˜never againโ€™, understandably!

Mum got diagnosed with cancer 8 years ago, which has spread everywhere - itโ€™s remarkable sheโ€™s still with us. Today was a really special moment for us and it was fitting the girls fought as hard as Mum does. She was suitably impressed.

Also, good to see PG, Greeny and a heap of M players there today - good club unity. Onwards and upward for 2026! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

Ps- lovely to meet you today @Ghostwriter , albeit briefly! (I still maintain I was best dressed haha!)

The DA will be in the Gardiner stand, the one with the ancient wooden benches.

All good. A few splinters in the bum never killed anyone, that I know of anyways.

    GO THE MIGHTY DEESโ€ฆ

    GIVE โ€˜EM HELL!!!

Hey Ghosty, can you walk around to the Gardiner Stand from Gate 6? Or have to enter in Gate 2?

    Cheers, see ya there!!

Heroes by David Bowie. I remember hearing it a few times in the 1990โ€™s before our games and it was inspiring.

I remember after we won the flag in '21, the broadcasters were interviewing Jack Viney on the ground and 'Heroes' was playing in the background around the stadium. As one of the players who was there during those bleak times, he described his journey with the club to get to that point; and with Bowie's beautiful classic as a soundtrack THAT'S when I cracked up and wept like a baby!

*Edit - I wouldn't have it as pre-game pump up song though - too emotionally arresting.

Yep, for me itโ€™s the last recording session for my bandโ€™s album. Had it booked in for weeks ๐Ÿ˜–

I blame bloody Starcevich moaning about Brions having to play in Melb today and then having to come back. Boo-[censored]-hoo ๐Ÿคฌ
